I used to have a Buzz Lightyear action figure as a kid and remember the animated series. As a kid for me, Buzz was way cool than Woody. No shade on Woody though.
When I was a little kid (5 or 6), I thought Buz Lightyear was more famous than Woody because he had his own t.v. show in real life (not just a show in the movie) while Woody didn't. My mother misinterpreted this and thought that meant Buz was my favorite Disney character.
I remember this Buzz cartoon, this was a movie that went straight to home video, and then it was a short lived TV show that only lasted for a few months. That's why you probably never heard of it.
I've stopped watching alot of your videos recently, but I'm still really glad I'm subscribed because this was an awesome showcase of a really cool-looking show! And while it's not the most well-written show, it's really cool to see some of the themes present in it, especially revolving around Lightyear and Darkmatter! I'm definitely checking out this show when I have the chance!
I actually do quite like how the armour that Warp ends up wearing when he started working as a full-time agent for Zurg that it has the same design as the Star Command space ranger suits just with some different details and colour scheme which does make me wonder if Zurg was planning to start his own Space Ranger Corps to serve the Zurg Empire
1:58, you know Ty Parsec kind of reminds me of Woody since he’s someone who was a big deal on his own but ends up being bitter due to being jealous and resentful of Buzz Lightyear due to Buzz being the guy who always tops him.
It's neat to see what aspects they kept in the film- Buzz's recklessness and difficulty working with others, his drive to Get It Right, sometimes at too high of a cost.
You know, Warp could have probably beat out Buzz in ranger school if he had stronger morals and focus. I mean, he was able to party, conduct covert ops in the academy, hide his illicit income, and still come in a close second behind Buzz.

Well i think when Santa never give Buzz those Gifts his alternate counterpart started growing his hatred for good and after being betrayed by his best friend he probably killed him realizing in his twisted way that being good is for fool's and the only way to succeed is to conquer all, with the worse Evil there is so only you make the rules. First thing I think of is Booster from the Wirewolf episode: "You question my knowledge of Buzz Lore? Mira, you Disappoint me." Issac definitely knows his lore. I like how you can see a definite parallel or connection to LIGHTYEAR, even though Pixar will never admit it. Was Angus Maclane a secret Buzz Lightyear of Star Command fan? Lol.
I still think this show exists in the Toy Story universe it simply is a different iteration of Buzz much like Batman or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I saw bits and pieces of the show when it was out at the time and always assumed this is what the toy is based of. Having that ninja turtles effect, the cartoon then the toy craze. I've tried to watch lightyear and but it's not for me. They could've had fun with it but it really doesn't seem Andy and other kids would go crazy over something so dull. So this show is still the origins of the buzz figure to me

In my version of the second movie of lightyear, Warp darkmatter a.k.a Ethan Grayson was a con man who was struggling to make ends meet as he has to provide for three kids named Adora, Orion and Lucy who parents lost their lives on the space Drifter colony but not only that, he was unable to get a job because of his disability, he has two metallic bionic arms after his real ones were lost during the destruction of Earth by the Drej, Spirits like aliens who sucked up the life from beings all over the Galaxy and turning them into Dark Crystal statues.

It's such a shame all the lore from this show was completely thrown out for the new movie. I'd have loved the movie a lot more if it had expanded on what we already had with BLoSC instead of retconning it and doing its own thing. What's even more upsetting is that Pixar refuses to acknowledge the show even in retrospect, blatantly skipping over it in their overview of Buzz's history as a character in media. This show REALLY deserved better.

This series is far better than the recent movie. The film really wasted the potential and didn't feel like buzz Lightyear at all.
