I have this monitor, i have no problem reaching 240fps+ in most games where 240hz is actually needed. For example competetive shooters, as the resolution isnt that high. However i do have a 3080Ti with a CPU to match it.. For me it works great for gaming and work, i dont really notice the pixel-density and i sit fairly close to the monitor. The only issue i have with the monitor is that i have to turn off DSC via the remote before booting up my computer, DSC is what enables 240hz. After my computer then has turned on and i have windows on the screen, i can turn the DSC back on. Have been trying to troubleshoot this issue, but seems to be the same with different computers. If anyone has the same issue, and know how this was resolved please respond to this message. Updated monitor, drivers, everything really. Hasnt resolved this issue, its not a big deal to use the remote before booting up the PC but it would be nice to not have to do it, as the monitor is farily expensive.
I have the 34” oled Alienware love it but still feel it lacks pixel density. Will be holding out for 160ppi ultrawide. This would be like going back to 1080p gaming
@@ignaciovalestrini Yes, but for me i cant notice the pixel density too much. I have to get real close to the monitor, so close that its very uncomfortable for me. My eyes are probably somewhere arond 40-50cms away from the center of the monitor.
@@armandosandoval4247 either options, better CPU / OC, faster RAM with low latency including sub timings make sure in gear 1 if DDR4 (Samsung B-Die) (check PC parts picker search ram and compare real world latency or free option lower the graphical setting until you max of the fps.
Thank you for your review. Yours is informative as it directly helps my own consideration (using a G9 Neo). I am also waiting for the G9 OLED, but my issue with that is the much lower curve and the same vertical height (while this LG offers something different in the immersive factor). Is there any chance you can do a side by side or top to bottom comparison of the two? So that we can see the difference between the two monitors.
I’ve had both, the immersion is unmatched, the shape of the g9 is a bit too extreme width wise and not enough height wise. If Samsungs upcoming 57 inch monitor was oled it would probably be the new best on the market

Having come from the original G9 I am happier with the 45" LG. The larger size is better, and on the g9 any 3d game the edges of the screen in games are stretched regardless of fov
2k at this size is absolutely noticeable (Remember ppi is king, looking just at the resolution doesn't tell the full story. 2k at 34" is significantly clearer than 2k at 45"). I've used the xeneon flex, which has the same panel as this display, and sitting normally you can definitely make out the pixels. I'm ordering one, so it's not a dealbreaker, but you're misrepresenting this to potential buyers.
I got one for my son and I have to say I like the size that it is taller and not as wide as the Samsung 49. He also agrees if Samsung can make the 49 as tall as the LG then yes I would probably buy Samsung the next time around. Also, it just works overall much more easier to work with given the size and performance.
I agree with you. Having the monitor at 800r almost forces you to sit very close. I noticed it in diablo 4 when sitting back I had to lean forward to read the sides 😂
I picked one up from Best Buy for $999.99 being a total tech member. I was looking for an ultra wide gaming monitor. I currently have a 4k HDR 10 Asus Rog 27” monitor. After playing on the LG 45” Ultra Wide for a day. I packed it back up to return. Going from 4K to 2k I couldn’t get past it. Just couldn’t get pass the clarity of the display. The immersion is awesome and the colors and HDR looked fine, but just need 4K. If i never had a 4K monitor i wouldn’t know any better. I’m waiting till this comes out in a 4K version and for a 1K price point.
Hi, Ive never played 4k gaming. I currently have a 4080 and been playing with a monitor I already had for ps5 and its 2k. If I get my a 4k monitir, will I notice a big difference in quality?
That’s years away, and the difference for gaming is negligible once you actually sit in front of it, I know on paper it sounds weak but the whole package together is mind blowing

I have just got one of these monitors primarily for flight simulator, and I’m just wondering if you know of any way I can align it to make the in game instrument panels which are in essence meant to be linear, less curvy? Also, is there a way to possibly have the main program running in 16:9 and use the extra space for another program to display possibly? Thanks in advance.
A 32 9 monitor would be better for that (as that's literally two 16:9 screens next to each other). For 21:9 you would have back bars top and bottom. Or you would need to set a custom resolution/aspect ratio, which would be 1720x1440 or about 10.5:9. A bit of a squareish aspect ratio but still great for office work for example.
I'm fine with the resolution - 240Hz will come in time, some games I couldn't hit the 100Hz of my Acer X34A - but now I can as I've upgraded my GPU & cpu so it's there for the future graphics cards

The curve is too agressive in my opinion. I think i will opt for a Xeneon Flex 45 instead, which came down in price a lot .. its just 200 more now and probably has the same panel, as it has the same specs - but the curvature can be adjusted to your needs.

Aaaaah my Neo G9 Purchase is still safe😍. QuickQuestion. How far behind OLED is the Neo G9? I've always felt like OLED can't be that far ahead considering how great it looks(I know GTG response is faster but the G9 holds it own there too).
Honestly I had both last week and for gaming the oled just feels so much better and looks better. I had about 4 ppl come over to help and everybody said easy the lg oled looked so much better in gaming. We do use it for work but not to much

It's not behind. G9 Neo has got its own advantages because of its aspect ratio 32:9 and very high brightness up to 800 nits in Real HDR Scenes compared to OLEDs/QD-OLEDs which have around 400-500 nits in Real HDR Scenes or higher but for very small objects which are more noticeable and impactful in dark games/videos. So, for dark games/videos OLEDs are preferable but for relatively bright ones mini leds do their job better.
If you have never sat in the sweet spot on it fully calibrated with hdr on, you can’t talk. The most immersive monitor on the planet hands down and I’ve had Alienware 3423dwf, and the odyssey neo g9, destroys both of them, yes not quite as sharp, but resolution is not the most important thing in a monitor by a long shot

@@armandosandoval4247 If you already have the g9, you will have to decide, its taller and almost as wide so you have more immersion, and the oled display is faster and smoother than the g9, but is not as bright and will struggle in dark spaces, the contrast and in dark areas on games there is no contest.

2k is fine. the human eye can't even tell the difference at normal viewing distance between 2k and 4k. the monitor is a BEAST.

got a 42inch C2 over this. now that they dropped in price theres no real reason to not get a 4k 120hz monitor with crispy display

Yes you will notice a huge difference in the clarity. If you get 4K be sure you also are getting HDR.

I’m not 100 percent sure but with certain programs I’m sure you can configure it to work as 16:9 with other programs

Xeneon seems like the best out of the bunch but with one HUGE downside...no VESA mount. Xeneons adjustability is atrocious.
