I've seen quite a lot of desk setups and yea most of them are cool, but not many of them are actually practical. This is such a good setup, minimalistic and yet you get everything you will need on top of that it looks super slick, I love it!
when cleaning your pc I suggest using canned air since the bristle on a vacuum cleaner may make static electricity that can damage your motherboard and other components or knock off any small pieces from the motherboard
Awesome bro. I love clean, organized space and am always battling with cables, dust, storage, etc. I do not think I could implement this (money right now is an issue), but you show that it can be done. One thing that would make a difference, and that doesn't seem like too expensive a fix, would be to get one of those under-the-desk power outlets. But, organizing the wires afterwards, with varying lengths and thicknesses, I have found is much easier imagined than done. It doesn't help that I have dozens of cables running between 5 external drives, a VCR (for digitizing old tapes), a PC, a Mac with a CalDigit dock, and several power outlets. Anyway, thanks for the professional presentation.
I have the S3221QS and an LG 32" 4k in portrait. S3221QS is a great monitor. If you get the screen flickering with the MacBook set the color profile to Rec 709, the darker blacks have stopped the flickering for me.
So when I'm switching, I usually turn off one of the devices which disconnects the video signal. When I turn on the new device the 32 inch monitors can automatically detect the new signal and switch to the right video input. Unfortunately if I'm using both the PC and Macbook at the same time, I do have to manually toggle them.
At 7:45 you're vacuuming the dust filter. It is magnetic. You can take it off for easy cleaning. And you don't need to pull apart the whole PC every time, just pop off the front cover and clean up the filter for improved airflow and to keep the internals cleaner for longer.
Hey, I ordered the castor wheels from your description. Unfortunately, they don't fit in my omnidesk. My bolt size is smaller. Is there anything you did to make it work?
Hey man, nope I didn't have to do anything. The wheels fit perfect for me. Although I've gone through my order history to double check the sizing and it looks like the seller has changed the bolt size on their listing. The right bolt size for me was an M8x1.25. I recommend taking your levelling feet to the local hardware store to double check. They should have a chart with different bolts you can screw your levelling feet into to check the size. After that, make sure the caster wheels match. Hope that helps!
Thank you for not saying a dream set up. Tired of people who use that for instant views and literally is not a dream desk set up. Yours sir is a beautiful, clean desk set up is what I’d say. Great work

bro you gotta be kidding me. I got a pretty similar setup and my desk is a mess ahhaha. Next month i am moving out of my parents house and i am already planning the table setup. Just love that coincidence ! Thanks, alex
PRO TIP - put that rotor for the light under the desk using 1 screw, it will not be on the table and its under the table easily accessible (as you know you are not using it that much, maybe 5 times a day). Keep it on the table only if you like it there.
4:40 I think the idea is that you can rotate the rather small docks 90 degrees and plug in sideways. If it bothers you, you can even rotate it back. Big deal.

Super clean, those monitor arms are pretty sick. Only thing I would recommend would be mounting the PC to the desk, that's what I did for mine and it makes cable management so much easier
They're from MUJI. I couldn't find the same colour on their website, but the shelf is called Stainless Unit Shelf - Wide Large. You can customise them with different coloured frames and accessories but best to go in store to take a look if you can.
I've come up with a foam/sponge rubber desk mat that turned out to be very comfortable and fairly mouse compatible, more like moderate sensitivity. Been using it for 3 years personally and my friends, so far it's been great so I've made a whole batch of them, it's called Fusionstrike Limestone Desk Mat if anyone interested getting one (currently ship within UK but could sort out international shipment too). The rubber is made from sustainable limestone rock instead of oil/petrol which makes it more environmentally friendly than most desk mats out there. It's laminated with super stretch smooth nylon so it's easier to clean it than most cloth mats.

I got cable wraps instead of an open cage (that collects dust and is harder to clean on the long term. Also, for the under desk cable management, get a closed system - the open ones collect dust and are just a pain to clean. And if you do photo/video work, i would actually avoid a light bar in front of the screen - Im using a 4K100% SRGB calibrated panel with a matte display, and lights in front of the display are a bad idea - One very unexpected side effect of pandemic videoconferencing is that I got a key light, it's recessed about 2"behind the monitor and points down towards me and my desk - that way the light doesnt affect your actual screen. And being a key light with 2.8k to 6.5k WB, it's easily adjustable to match my room lighting at night. I swear by this lighting setup and I no longer have a desk lamp or overhead light.
awesome setup! great video! you mentioned that you use all 3 screens for the windows pc and 1 for the macbook. What do you use to switch between the 2 systems for the screens?

So the pegboard comes with a mounting bar that it screws into. Normally you'd nail the bar into the wall, then put two screws into seperate holes on either side of the pegboard, before screwing it into the mounting bar. What I did was, I didn't put the screws all the way through the mounting bar, only the tip of the screw, leaving a gap between the mounting bar and the pegboard. For stability, I tightened to screw so that the cross brace is sandwiched between the mounting bar and pegboard. Hope that makes sense! If people want a bit more detail, maybe I can do a quick short on it.
I have one question, how do you switch between mac and windows on the same set of 3 monitors? and the 3 moinitors, you can use either the mac or the windows one at a time, not simultaneously right? asking cuz I have a similar setup but with one monitor :)
The 32 inch monitors switch automatically if there is no signal. I normally use one device at a time so if I turn my PC off and then plug the Macbook into the dock, the monitors will switch to the right input. The M1 Pro MBP only has video output to two of the three monitors though. The monitors actually support PIP so I could actually use them simultaneously if I wanted to!
Hi, great job with your desk and room setup. You have a clean and tidy efficient workspace, and good quality components and you have clearly done your research in respect of the IT-related tech that you have chosen. Yours is an enviable desk set-up. Cool video production with a very good presentation as well. Congratulations.
Great video, super fresh setup. You mentioned this setup being driven by an M1 MacBook Pro. Did you enable the multi monitor using InstantView or DisplayLink?
Do you have an update regarding the Xiaomi monitor light “puck” switch? Does it still look like its brand new? I had mine for almost 3 years now and the rubber coating on the “puck” is now sticky. I used all sorts of suggestion on how to remove the sticky stuff but didn’t work.😢 Even though the light is still working, I just hide the switch somewhere since it’s an eye sore.😂
Cool setup. I'd also buy a keyboard wrist rest and mouse wrist rest, plus protective plastic under the chair to protect the floor. But most importantly: lights near the desk, so that you never work in the dark (it's bad for the eyes).
Stunning man, stunning... 9.5/10 for me... the 0.5 is for when you try an ultrawide monitor, but still looks stunning i love it, I cant wait to do something similar soon. Well done😎😎
Hi, I know this is silly question, but could you confirm that ALOGIC Thunderbolt dock can run two external monitors in extended mode from ONE MBP thunderbolt port?
It's the Dreame v11! Doesn't look like they sell it on Amazon anymore but I've updated the video description with a link to the T20 which is the upgraded version, if you want to check it out.
You have a great desk setup. I am working on my home office desk and wanted to ask a question. Like you, I noticed that you use a windows based operating system to run your CAD file or construction documents. I recently bought a Mac Book Pro and found out that the software that my company uses does not work with IOS thus forced to keep my window based system. I have a Dell WD 22TB4 docking station that delivers power to my laptop when connected. My question is this, is it possible to connect my two screens to the windows PC and have the option to connect the Mac Book Pro via the docking station as I choose? How would the wiring be set up? Thank you in advance for your response.
Hello, I guess that would depend on the number of display inputs your monitors support. If you're monitors have support for at least two inputs each, and you want both devices plugged into the monitors and have the ability to switch between them, I guess you could have each monitor plugged into your dock for your PC and then also connect the monitors to your Macbook separately via a HDMI/Displayport to USB-C cable. If you're using the dock for your Macbook, same thing but plug the Macbook into the dock, dock into monitors and plug the second set of HDMI/ Displayport cable from the monitors directly into the PC. Alternatively, if your monitors only support one input each, you could also buy a dock that has KVM support so that you can have both the PC and Mac plugged into the same dock that allows you to switch between devices. Keep in mind, not all Macbooks support dual monitors so make sure you check on the Apple website. Hope that helps.
Enjoy watching how you simplified or decluttered your desk. I'm going to do it pretty soon and watching your video gave me some ideas. Practical. Can't wait for your ITX built.
Nice video and setup! I’m gonna be adding some things to my own setup, but I noticed that the links in the description aren’t directing me to the specific equipment your using. Would you mind checking them again?
Hello, some of the items were't available on Amazon US so I linked to similar products but I've updated the description to include links to Amazon AU which is where I bought them from. Hopefully they ship to your area!
Nice. I would personally put the third monitor on portrait, or even replace it with a larger monitor on portrait. I just like typing or reading documents on portrait, and reading web comics as well.
Great video. I really like your setup. Two feedback mostly from me because I want to copy some elements of what you have done as I almost have the exact hardware setup as you. 3 Monitors, Mac, PC and a laptop, etc. Because almost all of the shots are very close to the specific subject, I see the specific subject very clearly, but I didn't get a good overall picture of the setup. The only shot that helped me a lot is at 10:52, but this is only from the back. I don't recall seeing anything from the front as a wide angle view. Also it might be helpful to outline how much it cost you to do all of this. But overall, really well done. Thank you for sharing.
Hey Andrew, glad you like that setup. Really appreciate the time you took to write out that feedback and I will definitely keep it in mind for the next video! If you don't mind me asking, which elements will you be adopting?
@@TerryX_ Thank you terry for writing back. I haven’t decided yet but the cable management, putting the power strip attached to the bottom of the desk is a very neat idea. Also the dongle seems quite powerful. I have a USB based switch selector that I can use to switch different machines quickly so definitely not as clean setup as you have. I like the big pad below the keyboard. I like the machine dolly. I have a three monitor setup and I have used a monitor arm before but that one is not used anymore so I am likely not getting another one anytime soon.

I believe it is the Ergohuman. Link is in the description
wow..... how beautiful!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much! Happy that you like it!
I mainly clicked on this video to see those monitor arms in action, as I'm thinking about getting one for my desk to hold up my s3220dgf monitor.
It's the coolest setup I have ever seen. Looks fantastic!
Hello
At 8:25 what program are you using to take notes and sketch your project?
Hello 👋 That’d be GoodNotes
@@TerryX_ Thank you.
Hi, I know this is silly question, but could you confirm that ALOGIC Thunderbolt dock can run two external monitors in extended mode from ONE MBP thunderbolt port?
Hello, not a silly question don’t worry. I can confirm you can run both monitors in extended display from one MacBook Pro thunderbolt port.
You have a Really nice setup. Great video. Great editing. Great quality.
Thank you so much! I try my best 😅
What kind of blinds do you have they looked super easy to install at the beginning of the video?
Those are Ikea Schottis blinds. They are very easy to setup, very good.
The cutout piece on the desk is actually super practical, I might steal that :D
Please do! I'm glad my video was able to help you out!
What was that hand-held vacuum you used to clean your PC???
I just like typing or reading documents on portrait, and reading web comics as well.
hey, great setup. For PC - suggest something to hang you case under the table. so it moves together with desk
this is a crazy setup
Such a beautiful space mate! Really well put together!
Cheers Kirk, glad you like it!
Great setup mate, and thank you for the AU Amazon links - so much easier! 🙏
I see, once again appreciate the feedback Andrew. Really good to know what people found the most useful!
Super clean setup. Those Dell monitor arms are a game changer. I really like the simplicity 👍
Thanks! Yes, they are. It cleans up the desk so nicely.
Great Job, looks super clean and tricked out!
Thanks! Glad you like it
