    Saw them for the first time last night at a small bar in Hamden CT; met them after the show. What a cool, talented, sweet bunch of guys! So grateful to still catch bands like this performing. The music from this era his such a huge part of my life although I wasn't even alive to witness it firsthand. As long as the bands keep doing shows, I'll keep supporting them. ❤🙏

    I lived in Boston at the time their debut album came out and saw these guys at the Channel and Axis several times between 1990 and 1992. Even did a road trip with my buddy Don to catch them in new haven as well and help them load in at the club. They rocked live and Paul DiBartolo was always on the money and shredding. And Nobody could scream like Ray West. I miss those club days but I still listen to these guys all the time.

      @Sean021122 7 лет назад +8

      I don't agree. While this first Spread Eagle record is legendary. And I mean fucking legendary... Unfortunately they were on a label MCA who killed the careers of any metal acts who were foolish enough to sign with their label. They never promoted them properly and eventually just lost interest in these type bands altogether. The pressure on spread eagle to make a second record that would somehow rebuild their careers that were going nowhere despite that first great album, they ended up going soft. They let mca force them to tone down everything that made them great. Just like the vinnie vincent invasion situation on their second album on chrysalis. And in both stories we had great bands who put out soft as kreme donut 2nd albums and eventually broke up not too much afterwards... Spread Eagle's second album is garbage in my opinion. As is VVI's second album of course. The latter being an utter joke to my ears... That is why I can't like them after their first one period... If you want something that is along the lines of their first record, go get Uttaro - "Edge Of My Life" cd ep from a long time ago. Skip their second album...>

    This song is absolutely mint! Love it even more than when I first heard it. The album version trumps this version slightly but when I I was a wee rebel without a clue, this tune was absolutely the shit. Broken City, the lead off from track from their debut is arguably even better. Ray West could belt!!!!

    Was fortunate to have known and worked with Ray back in the beginning as part of a copy band in 1980. Always knew he had that special voice and showmanship to make it to the top of industry. He was my inspiration to become a better vocalist and guitarist and that enabled me to shoot for the stars in the late 80's. Always my friend and I still think of him when I'm belting out songs, mostly wishing I could scream in tune the same as him.

    I bought the cassette after seeing the video on Headbangers Ball in '90. I play my music on random so I still hear the album version about once a month or so. Guys, I shit you not, this is the first time I've heard this version in my 30 years of listening to it haha. I was just like wtf? Am I hearing this right? How did I miss this??
