    I learned about Killer Dwarfs back in the 80's from a movie...The Movie was called The Gate its about little Demons coming out of the ground and Hell taking over Earth and a Kid and his friend and sister have to stop it from happening. The main character is played by Stephen Dorff and his friend has a back patch on his Jean Jacket that says Killer Dwarfs so I went and checked them out and was like...wow this band kicks ass.

      @angryagain3801 7 лет назад +1

      They were not a priority for their record label. That's why they didn't get bigger. The record company signed them but didn't do much to promote them. Any lack of success has nothing to do with Riki Rachtman - he did not pick the videos for HBB. He was just the host.
      Another factor working against them may have been that they were too heavy for radio and didn't have that "pretty boy" image that was all the rage at the time.

    • @sissyfist

      AngryAgain how did bands like Megadeth succeed then?

    • @Gregbaltzer
      @Gregbaltzer 6 лет назад +1

      Because Megadeth released some of the best damn metal albums ever made that's how. Killer Dwarfs were just a good band in a sea of bands, that's why they didn't make it big. This type of metal just lost it's flavor with metal fans who were hungry for thrash metal, and then Death metal. Once grunge became the next flavor it was over for this band. Plus Canadian metal bands in general had/have a hard time gaining success. Razor even wrote a song about how hard it is being a Canadian metal band called "American Luck". Even Canadian metal bands like Voivod and Annihilator had to go overseas to find their fanbase. Annihilator doesn't even play in Canada. Not one single Canadian metal band made it really big and that goes for Killer Dwarfs, Helix, Annihilator, Razor, Voivod, Sacrifice, Exciter etc.

    Ah yes. The boys from Whitby Ontario! Killer band!!! Around 1990, (Used to live in the Oshawa area at the time) went back to Montreal, (Original from that area) played this tune for a couple of bro's. Bert McGowan, guitar guru, the drummer JP, (OD on crack) his brother, an other guitar God, forget his name....The old Molsons building downtown, Mtl, was a converted into a jam/recording studio..Bert and the boys got this tune down! Man I will never forget it..F-en AWESOME!..
    Mind you not to far, the legendary "Steve's Music Store". Purchased my '80 something Gibson Flying! "V".
    Mtl was a hub for rock music in it's day...Sucks getting old, as the year fly by, remembering the times...etc. I could go on for hours........Ontario Canada and Montreal, the talent coming out of these places was incredible.....Way to many to list. I'm now 65, seen and heard so much! The music today, seems to be lacking the effect of times past. Pissed me off, I had tickets to see "Led Jeppelin" in MTL 1980...we all know what happened then. ROCK ON MAN!

      robbie veinot Ahhh fuck that. These guys put out a few good songs on each cd and were never consistent. But the one csd that everyone else puts down as being mediocre... their last one "Method To The Madness" is clearly the iconic leap of quality that they never made on any other album. I I would say their last and their first were truly their best. If only they made all their albums like "Method" then I'd be a huge Daniel bryan errr dwarfers fan...

      Other than Canada, pretty well impossible to get the US radio stations to play their tunes in order to make that successful breakthrough in the North American market. Unfortunately, the same fate experienced by many other talented Canadian bands.

    Good grief! Today I heard about these guys for the first time watching an old Iron Maiden interview from 1988. Steve & Dave flipped over this band saying they're 'brilliant, one of the best bands out there.' I was a metal head throughout most of the 80's and cannot believe I've never heard them until now. This guy's vocals are as good as Sebastian Bach. Amazing! Too bad they never hit it big. Seemed they peaked when metal was giving way to grunge, etc. Checked their Wiki, looks like they've been signed to the label owned by Megadeth's bassist. Maybe they make a nice push. Hope so. They're killer....

    Seen at the Pump in Regina...early 2000's.. They played this last. I stood there staring and the lead singer looked back like I was retarded. I just could not believe what I was hearing/seeing after 12-15 or so years of first hearing this and learning the riff on guitar sitting in my basement in small town saskatchewan..Never got to be a rockstar...oh BTW this song kicks ass!! Are you guys alive?! Write more cool songs!!

I am so fuckin sorry about that!!! Their music applies still today n rocks just as n hard if not harder than most 80s bands! They deserve fuckin credit!!
