    Thank you so much for this presentation, I learned so much. Although I follow a WFPB lifestyle I unfortunately occasionally suffer from reflux so have been a little perplexed. I know now how to address it 🙏

      WFPB but still struggling with reflux due to a hiatal hernia. I have quit coffee, alcohol, and canned tomatoes so far. Still eating a little citrus and fresh tomatoes but still able to eat them in limited amounts.
      Also I stop eating 3 hours minimum before bed.
      Doctor thinks hernia surgery is won't be helpful.

    Thank you for this video! I suffered from GERD/acid reflux for several years. My doctor continued to increase the dosage of my meds. I said "enough"...I'm changing my diet. And I did. I switched to a plant-based diet and I haven't looked back since. I feel so much better - especially from cutting out meats, butter, and oils. Thank you Chef AJ for all you do and for bringing us such inspirational people!

      @@crystaltorres7313 I cut out all processed foods, meats, and especially oils. I was drenching my salads, etc with olive oil and it wreaked havoc on my digestive system. Cook everything from scratch and keep following Chef AJ for super healthy plant based recipes!

    • @barbara5495
      @barbara5495 3 года назад +1

      @@crystaltorres7313 I eat vegetables seasoned with the usual - pepper/onion powder/garlic powder, vegan "better-than-bouillon" (love this stuff), etc - no oil or butter added. Salad everyday - dark greens, peppers, onions, olives, carrots, celery, tomatoes, beans (black, garbanzo, white, etc)...dressing is made with flavored balsamic vinegars (fig is my favorite), mustard, lemon/lime juice, maple syrup (or honey), and sometimes a little Tahini and avocado. Lots of potatoes!! Each week I batch cook: one cookie sheet of potatoes, one large container of salad, one pot of vegetable soup, one or two jars of plant based "cheese sauce", and I steam up several types of vegetables. I try to keep my refrigerator full of cooked food so I don't have to think about what I'm going to make. Most plant based people do this. I've gotten all my recipes from people like Chef AJ and other plant based people on You Tube. This is basically what I eat each week. I can't say that I don't stray every now and again. Sometimes we order take- out or go out for dinner that usually has some oil or butter included. But for the most part I eat a whole food plant based diet that has really reduced my GERD to almost nothing. I hope this helps!

    Unfortunately some people think suffering from bad habits of eating is normal..some people know what's BEST to eat.. but prefer the band aids of medication to medicate the symptoms but not eradicate the problem is enough to eat what they want and what they enjoy..great talk..I'm on the wfpb lifestyle and I love it..such a huge change in my skin, sleep and energy.

    Good conversation here - I have been plant based for the past two and a half years. I was recently diagnosed with Barrett’s esophagus without symptoms. I have been told to eliminate foods and spices that make eating a plant diet difficult 😞
