GOODBYE BOEING 747! Virgin Atlantic BOEING 747 Jumbojet THRILLING TAKE OFF from Manchester Airport

Hello everyone and thank you for watching this PlanesWeekly video!
Last week, Virgin Atlantic announced that it is retiring the Boeing 747 effective immediately after more than 35 years with the airline. This is a full year ahead of schedule. Virgin Atlantic launched flights back in 1984 using a Boeing 747-200.
Airlines worldwide are seeing a slowdown of demand because of the ongoing pandemic thus grounding airplanes and retiring the oldest and most inefficient members of their respective fleets.
This is the second airlines bidding farewell to the iconic Boeing 747 jumbojet on passenger flights due to the coronavirus/covid-19 pandemic following the type's departure from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in March.
This is our last recording of a Virgin Boeing 747-400 taken in late December 2019. Little did we know, that it would be our last. We salute the Boeing 747 and wish the best to airline staff around the world.
We hope Virgin's former fleet of 747s are repurposed so they can continue to grace the skies for many years to come. Please enjoy the video.
