This. Would love to see what Mattias does with some of the older devices: and it's how to get to know Reason better, not just fall for the new shiny thing.
I haven’t been able to get it to work yet. Not sure if i have to patch the mic or audio track into it. I assumed it would work without that. Seems like a cool new thing. Might even replace my vt4 hardware module
Told my bandmate about the new vocoder, he was like, "eh, aren't VSTs better?" Demo'd this against VocalSynth2 and this won hands down, we are both now happy owners of this shiny new BV-X.
It can be used discreetly to support the main voice. So it's more than a vocoder for me... You have all my gratitude and the euros that go with it. Great job to the team. (deepl traduction)
I've only just started listening in on these sessions which i usually don't do but for some 'reason', reason users seem to all be friendly and inclusive people, strange thing to be around after all these years. It's kind of you/we're all a big family. I love it and it's very refreshing
It will work in all other DAWs, you can open all of our devices inside the Rack using the Reason Rack Plugin (VST3/AU/AAX). We haven't made a dedicated tutorial for Cubase yet but check the other DAW videos ruclips.net/p/PLljy8w-QIrGwd0LrhhDrueFtGoxP86YqJ
Enjoyed the livestream. Just want to say thanks again for all your hard work. Just upgraded from 11 to 12 and appreciate the included players!!! New devices / engineering is great but one thing I'd suggest is to have some presets organized by music genre... especially for the baseline generator. Also I appreciate sound packs that include the Reason song file (like the demos) ... great way to dive right into using the sounds for a new song... and am more likely to continue Reason+ if more sound pack contributors include the song files. (I also think beginners would benefit greatly from this). After all it's not the individual patch that influences whether or not I look at a sound pack but more likely the way the patches are demonstrated in the sound pack demo song. Again thanks for the great deals! Reason+ first year $99, Upgraded to 11 for $129, and Upgrade to 12 with the extra players limited time offer is a steal for $199 not to mention now I get to use the plugin version offline with the extra players!!! Sure you're trying to make money with Reason+ but I still feel like you're doing your best to take care of legacy users. Thank you.

Oh my .... So many options in this device and ALL are of high quality. Clever design and build. Powerful, solid Also, a fantastic stream tonight (UK). I think we are all inspired by this vocoder/utility. I'm so inspired I just imagined a Reason Studios Mankini, to my detriment, I might add! Sorry for the mental image, anyway, great work RS team, thanks Ryan and Mattias for the stream. 😎
With the Mimic sampler in r12 Reason began flirting a bit with the hip hop/ boombap folks. So what you guys should do now is bring out a smashing modelled instrument: brass! The friktion is such a fantastic string modelling synth so a similar concept for brass to use in lofi beats would be awesome. Chose reed or mouth piece, thickness and form of tubing, valves, horn. Muffled or not. And can name it Korps after the Norwegian brass bands that all kids play in. Or maybe BMI (brass modelling instrument) with the slogan "Fat saxes or skinny trumpets, the choice is yours!"
I know you guys are on a different schedule but please consider doing streams on fridays or weekends please. Im just throwing my vote into the hat. Still watching. P.S. Throwing in another vote for Reason branded dad hats.
Started with 2.5 and 2.0 still rarely use the library.. maybe I'm behind, took me a while to upgrade, went 5 to 9..to 10..tho it's the fresh ways that are watt it's about for me that and the oh wow it sounds amazing.. Still confused about wich scopes could be available I've had a go with some.. would love some kind of wierd spectral follower maybe select parts of the image and use the audio or cv for sidechaining or audiorate transform or to take a route through instead of a standard sweep, dunno why haha just 1 idea just had there hmm tired today my day job it's a tough one
hi, i love reason, but right now, reason+ has become too expensive for me. will there ever be the possibility to buy this devices as standalone as vsts? like europa
Since you also get the Rack Plug In with Reason Standalone (no subscription) I doubt they will spin out Single devices as VST ever again. I think the Europa VST came out during a time were they were uncertain how to reach new users which was solved by R+ and the RRP.
@@Caelo_music Yeah i understand that the probability of actually getting solo VSTs ever again is low, however i think a version of Reason without the DAW, only as a standalone VST would be good. Like, just as rack plugin. Dont get me wrong, i liked the the DAW for the many many years i have been using it, but right now i think it would be a good option for users who just want to use it like a plugin.
@@tenderbranson4657 That would be cool for sure but I don't see it happen either. The main value of Reason comes from the devices and the rack, right now. So even if they would over a Rack Plug In only option, I don't think they would make it much cheaper than the current version with the DAW included. The subscription already is a good value even without a DAW, which is the reason why they discontinued the intro and suit options for the standalone.
@@Caelo_music i agree, the price is fine, its just too much for me, in economically challenging times, i cannot afford another subscription on top of the many subscriptions that are already not optional. if i could hand pick 5 devices for rack plugin only use, for 5€ a month, that would be something just an idea.
@@tenderbranson4657 Totally, get it I`m not a fan of all the subscription models popping up and I`m not subscripted to R+. I guess you can find good and cheaper alternatives to most Reason devices if you want individual effects, or synths.
hello ryan and mattias, I follow all your very respectable publications and works with great interest. I am in a pleasant work to learn your important application products from a" to z". but i have a question:Do you have an online store where clothing or various items with printed Reason Studios and especially objekt products are sold? And, of course, if such sales exist, would I be able to place an order from Istanbul?"
how about reason studios give all the early R12 upgraders full access to all the players, its a huge slap in the face to see them offered recently to entice new upgraders but not to the people have been loyal and supportive to the company all these years.. leaves a bitter taste to be honest
Excellent software. Worst company in the world. 5 days without being able to access my license and the support center doesn’t give any explanation at all. Wrote them 10 emails and nothing. 10 years buying all kind of products and reason updates from them just to be treated like this. Trully disrespectful.
Every preset sounds like a hall reverb, can't get the vocoder to work, sigh. Reason is strictly for producers ,who brains are wired differently to old school musicians. Auto tune ew ,that's what it sounds like. Every bloody song these days has that cheesy effect.
You will either need to feed the vocoder midi inputs via keyboard or sequencer, or turn the Auto Play checkbox on to get the vocoder to work (it's towards the top left corner, in the yellow sections). If you're demo'ing presets, I suggest load them from the "Voice Processing Patches" folder, all patches have Auto Play enabled by default and only require the vocal signal to activate. If you're loading presets from the "Vocoder Patches" folder, they do not seem to have Auto Play on by default. But if you don't want your voice to sound robotic or synthetic not sure why you'd want to vocode vocals. Maybe you'd have more fun vocoding some drum and/or instrumentation tracks, can get some neat sounds that way.
You should do some long Ryan & Mattias livestreams on old devices or Reason features that never got one.
💯

100%!
Yes, that's a great idea!
Awesome release guys! These livestreams are so helpful and entertaining. Keep it up RS!

Oh my soul - Ryan and Andrew Huang is going to be epic !! Geez … really love what The creative team at reasonstudios are heading to
I would LOVE a Reason Studios Cap in EUROPA RED!
was not able to catch this live. I’m glad that these livestreams are back.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it-thanks for the support!
So good!!! I had a great time! Thanks for the awesome new device!!

Definitely want the Reasonstudios cap!! Represent !!
great video, need that Reason Studios cap 🙂
Can keys already recorded in sequencer be redirected through the BV-X
Yes, just use the keys MIDI data as your MIDI input to BV-X.
Brilliant as usual :)
more please
Will the Vocoder only works in Reason or can it be used in other DAWS like Cubase?

how do I play some midi note and sing along to get the normal vocoder sounds. this seems weird as an effect

how do i get my Mic working? it is running into a pioneer djssx midi controllor which reason recognises the sound card for

Dad hats FTW!
Does anyone know what the song is at the beginning, is it a real song or?

Hi Can this new Vocoder be used with Reason 8 ?
It's a Rack Extension so you'll need to be running Reason 10.1 and up.
Just updated Reason+ -- I found BV512, no BV-X. Where's it hiding?
You need to install it through the Reason+ Companion.
@@j.lindback Got it. Thanks for steering.
autoplay with ring mod at 1:05:00 is like PERFECT max headroom
What language was used to write vocoder
Rack extension SDK is clang and LLVM for C++
Brilliant!
Guys - I got it as "rent yo own" just at 17's minute of this vid:)
Excellent 😀 ❤️
