- In this video we'll take a look at two of the world's leading airlines in their Economy Class products.
For years, Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways have been on the leading edge of the global aviation industry. I'll take you through my thoughts on their check-in, food, entertainment, seats and their service. As part of the video, I'll touch on their global lounge networks. Although lounge access is never included in an economy ticket, high tier status with either of the airlines will secure lounge access. A treat well worth having as part of an economy journey as we know these can be tough sometimes!
As part of the review we'll borrow the Qatar Airways Boeing 787-900 brand new economy and their Airbus A380 upper-deck option. On the Singapore side, we'll take a look at one of their newer products onboard their Airbus a350 aircraft. All footage used will be based on long-haul services for the best direct comparison.

Cost cutting with Singapore airlines - no more appetisers with meals. On some flights to Australia no more second meals (unlike Cathay who still maintain 2 full meals on similar segments). So yeah agree while the quality of mains remain top notch they have joined the cost cutting bandwagon and you will notice little things here and there are gone (including hot towels in Y).
Such a shame and massively appreciate the comments - such useful info for people looking to make a decision! Optimistic side of me hopes they’ll revert but it’s the way the economy experience has been heading for decades I guess…
Agree. Recently took a Cathay flight and was pleasantly impressed with them meal service.
I too wish the apps would return but SQ also increased the portions of mains, not a total loss.

@@nats6798 they increased the size of the mains because in some routes the second meal service have completely disappeared now lol (i.e some flights to OZ for instance)

Anyways,we can all agree that Singapore Airlines won the 2023 Skytrax Best Airline Awards,therefore they are best.
Oooooo controversial, it’s tricky to argue as they’re such an amazing carrier. That said, I wouldn’t read too much into the Skytrax ratings…

Both are good but I dread their Codeshare airlines It feel like a downgrade especially when flying business class.
They sure can be a little substandard at times. I’ve always found very little gets anywhere near close to Qatar in business sadly…
