This is EXACTLY what I needed! I'm going to do shorter flames and blue because I'm modeling a starship with ion thrusters.

I think two Tomcats would look good as they usually fly in pairs don't they. Great modelling.👍

The pilot scratch build is very cool. And the end result including the water work is mindblowing!

Great video, and really impressive on the wave effects from the jet and the afterburners. Also nice to see how you make small scale figures. 👌👍

That's avery nice effect. I did something similar with a space ship model - what worked very well for me was to use an acrylic rod. They are available in various sizes and have no 'bubbles' enclosed. The acrylic rod can also be used to mount the whole model so it really looks like it's flying. By using different grades of sanding on the rod you can even mount the LED in the base and shine the light into the rod from the non-model side. Your idea to use kitchen foil is awesome - i used clear resin which worked but your way seems much easier and a lot nicer. Thanks for sharing!

Don't you hate when there is no pilot figures in a kit? I DO!!! Good idea with the clear sprue. Now if some one could make a clearish "spinning prop" disk for in flight propeller driven aircraft that looks real....I'd really be happy!!!!

It's gotten to the point where I frequently won't buy a kit if it doesn't include seated pilot figures. Like Revell and Trumpeter 1/32 aircraft with big, visible cockpits but no pilot. Sick of having to buy aftermarket resin crew.

2 things I expect from modern kits. Seated pilot and canopy masks. Kits are expensive today so going aftermarket for those is frustrating
