Big Al passed away today 4/26/2020 - A voice ! A man ! I brought some of Mary's out of town relatives friends who wanted to hear "The Blues" to hear Al. On one song Al modulated up 4 times, As I explained to the people what was going on, Al saw me hold up 4 fingers. He smiled gave me a "THUMBS UP" and went up another ! ! ! The man's singing in SO MANY styles. If you ever heard him sing gospel, you will never forget it. GOD BLESS AL.

Just got back from seeing Big Al loved every minute of seeing him visiting the club , had a great time down there ...great place to visit the Funky Pirate...
Oh jeez, I just saw the comments and learned of Al's passing. I saw him in 2007 (last time I was in the USA) and it was the first thing I was going to do when I went back and I thought about it often. It was a wild night and I have my little videos to keep that night going! God speed.
We went over there 2 weeks ago, and they said he was out with a hurt knee or something to that effect. The Blues Masters were still playing, but just another singer standing in for them. THey sounded great still, but wish we could have seen Big Al. Going to be headed there in a week or so. I sure hope he is back. I wanna hear Take Your Drunken Ass Home LOL.

Saw Big Al right after Katrina, not many places were open. He puts on a good show along with the band. Take your drunken ass home
