Hello and welcome to this weird crevasse of the internet where we get really excited about music (particularly Taylor Swift) and break down our favourite albums and songs. Our names are Bonny and Emily, and our aim with these videos is to share our love for music and also share context and understanding around the songs, by highlighting breaking down the lyrics, melodies and production. LOVED THIS, LADIES! The first thing I noticed was the Last Kiss references in this song! The day they met in June (and then ultimately had “that July 9th” shortly after), rain on the pavement aka “I do recall now the smell of the rain, fresh on the pavement”, and then of course “I love how you walk with your hands in your pockets” !!! I DIED

YES!!! A thousand times YES!! It’s so simple but the imagery and message is so straight to the point. It’s so underrated, definitely top 5 for me in Lover.

@@thegirlatnumber43 yeah, I realized that later on that these songs doesn't have to be songs that were written before Fearless was finished (that's how I thought about it before).
Edit: although a lot of people commented that she wrote it at 16.
Which would also makes sense since she said it didn't make that cut because it was another sad song. So it was considered for the album.
You all over me was written after Taylor wrote Forever & Always. That's the reason why it didn't made the album. Taylor recorded it instead even there's no time, the song was in the process of acceptance, forgive and forget.

It’s talking about the month though because the person doesn’t really have a name and I feel that’s really intentional because he was never hers and mistresses and side chicks are always written out as though they are invisible or insignificant, whereas she spent her whole summer planning her life around him. I adore this song. I can’t believe we’re getting new Fearless songs. Fearless was when I discovered Taylor and her Fearless tour was my first ever concert, my mom took me for my twelfth birthday. So this being her first rerelease is EVERYTHING because this album meant so much to me growing up.
