I love this game so much. It’s so quick and simple but with plenty of decision space. And the variable difficulty adjusting your score is a nice touch.
You said it at the end, but right at the beggining I was thinking: "This is like a spinoff of sprawlopolis." Thank you for the video. I just got the game but I'm never quite sure of the rules just by reading them (english is not my first language), but seeing you play makes everything crystal clear.
So happy I watched this grate play through, I never discarded any monsters that came up, just shuffled them in again and added one more. In my previous game I ended up with three monsters draws in the last round and ended up with minus 6 points 😫😫😫 . Now I have the spirit back!!
Thanks for the playthrough! Your focus on the Canal Lake paid off large. I played along and did quite poorly. -1 was my final score. I really enjoy this game a lot, but don't always do well. After watching your 5 in 5, Sprawlopolis is high on my "to play" list
@@OneStopCoopShop If you're ever up for doing another playthrough, anyone can download the maps via the files section on BGG so they can join in without owning the game
Nope! The solo rules specify that you are not allowed to flip or rotate the monsters from their orientation shown, so I couldn't rotate them to fit the placement you suggested.
@@guritche "backstories" are a type of card in Roll Player that give you victory points for building your character in a certain way, I believe, so it's just a minor addition you can add to a game of Roll Player.
I know I'm a little late to the game but I scored 27! I'm a Master Mapsmith! Best score I got yet out of about 4 plays . I recently bought the game, just looking for ppl playing it on youtube to compare scores to lol! It's actually a really good game, my fave solo play actually, a lot has to do with the ease of play, and there is very little to set up. I actually find it better than Dinosaur: rwar and write, which is still a good solo game ( never tried it with others though).

I really like how you manage to explain the rules quickly but at the same time they are clear and to the point. Thank you!
Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful.
I still think that is the best roll and write game for solo play. Thanks for the playthrough.
I enjoy it too!
I also like Welcome To... But Cartographers is more fun overall in solo play.
@@greyhawke115 yeah, I enjoyed Welcome To... fine. Liz said there is some solo mode you can purchase separately that makes solo better?

That 1 square lonely tree - you didn't count it in Autumn and Winter.
+ 3 pts.
Heck yes :) I like more points.

You invented hard mode!!! ;)

Oh, that's so cool! Never thought of inviting people to play along :) Sorry the points didn't go so well.

That looks very fun. Now to watch you're 5 in 5 that you published yesterday :)
I'm tricky like that :)
Playalong for me and I scorer 15 points. Journeyman Topographer. Nice variety in this game.
Good job!
Nice one
At 12:45 would you not have to draw the monsters at squares I11, J10 and K9?

@@OneStopCoopShop Thanks! One more question what is the Roll Player 'Backstory' card that comes with the game?
