💬Plot summary:
Fan Xian grew up in a small town by the sea with his grandmother, following a sudden visit of a poison master, his peaceful life quickly morph into one filled with danger and hardship. After becoming rather skilled with medicine, poison and martial arts, he goes to the capital to find out more about his mysterious mother. China doesn't allow dramas to be aired, if they are about time travel (amongst other things such as: nudity) and thus, they had to alter this series to hint that is what it is about (at the start he mentions he was 'reborn' as a baby but really, he went back in time), so they can bypass the censorship laws. Consequently, I then presumed that meant the 'emotionless' character is a robot, whom is also from the future? (I don;t actually know what it is based on, maybe other's can clarify?)

I’m rewatching for the third time. I can honestly say that this is one perfect drama. From story ,production,director,script writers cinematography , costumes and makeup,casting, even the OSTS sang by Xiao Xian..everything about this drama is perfect 👍 I’ve never watched any other drama produced so perfectly than this one ☝️..and I’ve watched quite a few of both Korean and Chinese dramas through the years…I hope season two will also be THIS GREAT 👍 I can’t wait to see…I hope soon ….this is the only drama where I did a lot of production research, read every review and read the 746 chapters novel. I highly admire it’s whole production process from novel to drama adaptation and deeply appreciate it all. Thank you 🙏

What about the spoiler? First time watching the carriage, l did not realise, it was Yun in there, and the purpose of his journey. I had to watch it twice before l understood the connection, and would have loved to know, who is in the carriage, as it was important to understand the happenings later on..l am just saying.

Zhang Ruo Yun is an amazing actor. I enjoyed watching him play the role of a prince. He also stared at this drama titled "Sword Snow Stride. He played a special role in this one too. Especially entertaining. 🥰 I am waiting to see S2.

What a great series in every way ! Thanks for posting this total enjoyment show ! This is one of the only shows I don't blow through the opening or closing songs. Who ever is singing... I'm transported to heaven, and I don't even know what he's saying...but damn ! What a beautiful voice all around ! So smooth, and delicate with every notes inflection. I don't know anybody in this modern day who can compare ! I really feel blessed just hearing his rare gift 🌟

I love this drama. I liked it so much I couldn't wait for season 2 and read the novel. I have to say the drama is better at storytelling. The book took a whole volume to cover Fanxian's childhood and the drama did it in 1.5 episodes

Actually, I never expected this drama to grab me, but it really is interesting! Came here because of Xiao Zhan and Chen Daoming, suddenly stayed. I like how Chinese and Western cultures are mixed, as well as old and modern times. This drama has some Might&Magic vibes :D

Since this is foremost a science fiction drama, then the man with black band around his eyes is very possibly a robot or an android. I hypothesize this because his appearance never changes or ages, and when told to do something for himself, the shaking of his head looked remarkably like Data from the American TV series, Star Trek.

Sad ending cliff hanger made people to put this drama under the Nirvana in fire. It was a fantasy costume drama with modern twist. But writer was so good. All production showed how much effort were put on making this drama that we viewers mind n hearts were so thrilled by it. That’s what we called outstanding entertainment. The uncle (Darth Babysitter) is an android who has certain memory files conveniently blocked off, and no one can convince me otherwise LOL. He is so robotic because of his movements and his lack of emotion. Plus, he literally doesn't age. He hasn't settled down, or found a hobby. And does he have a personality? Does he like things, like rain or the color purple? In my mind, he's an android that is programmed to protect Xian, and I am totally okay with that lol.
