    I had the 7480 and I "upgraded" to the 7400, it took me of all of five minutes to conclude it wasn't really an upgrade that I expected from a 7000 series. I ended up spending another $1,200+ on a slightly used 7490 as its the best compromise between having 4 cores and a trackpoint. The only other option was to move down to a 5400 but then you lose a little of what makes the 7000 series unique. I'll probably stick to this 7490 until it falls apart. I love the 7400, but I just can't enjoy it the same way. It's too much of a compromise.

      Exactly this. Were going to do a "what happened to the 7000 Series" video (have actually filmed it). 😭😆 Reached the conclusion it was better to bin the video (hard to explain the concept why a premium 7 Series product was missing core business features vs the 5400). The 5400 bifurcated the line but made it lower end, it's almost a 7490 (different finish quality though) - the latter will remain popular for the people paying with their own money. Wait until you try to upgrade the ram on 7410. 🤭 For what it's worth, outside Ryzen, the Dell Latitudes 7490 is very decent even now.

      @@GreenGreenStore I love Dell, but the 7410 makes me gag. XPS 13 users have been used to getting socked for quite a while but for a bussiness class device it's simply unacceptable. Especially for a so called high end bussiness class device. Apple insults the dolts who foolishly buy their products but most Apple users are not taking a lid off their laptops anyway. Worse you gain nothing from the non upgradeable ram in the 7410. Not even a micron thinner. Since being thin is all the rage these days and a selling point... you don't even get that. Bottomline it's insulting.

      @@PearComputingDevices Bro, please tell me what you don't/didn't like about the 7400 in comparison to the 7490?

    • @PearComputingDevices
      @PearComputingDevices 2 года назад

      @@farzana6676 Very good question. Actually the 7480/7490 was a transitional laptop with the 7490 being a far superior unit no thanks to the 8th gen of CPUs. That said the 7490 had I think a bit more beefier chass, sure the 7400 looks good especially with that carbon fiber weave but by ever so slim margins the 7490 has a beefier chass. Especially around the display. My personal favorite out of the 7×00 series is the 7470, with a sixth gen cpu. Perfectly sized and excellent screen as long as your going for the 1080p. But that's typical of these business notebooks too. Don't bother with the 720p base model unless your foolishly desperate or stupidly cheap. Even then I would go the route of upgrading that. The base screens are horrible, even today. You can still order these things with a 720p acreen. Obviously the people ordering them won't be forced to use it or else they wouldn't. Anothet must have in my opinion is a lighted keyboard. Absolutely great for evening work.

    Im planning to buy the dell latitude 7490 for school. But I see some people pointing out some issues like the keyboard being hard to replace. Did you encounter any issues with this? I'm thinking this or the macbook air 2017.

      Naturally you will not need to replace the keyboard often. It's not a customer serviceable part.

    I’m trying to buy a latitude computer but I don’t know which one to chose, the 7480, 7490 or 7400. I want one of them for school and for gaming like roblox. If you know any better laptops under 600 please let me know. ( must have windows)

      T480 personally.
      Also. Easier to replace the keypad & has a dual battery setup. Dell is limited to 60wh.

    They don't have any outlet for hot air to come out that's why people complain about them overheating..x1 carbon has 2.. this is very bad design, the right latitude would be 5400 don't you think
