Hi Sophie, Would very much like to say how much I appreciate and enjoy your videos. Your voice is very calming and pleasant to listen to. The background music you choose blends in so well with your sweet gentle voice. I do not have too much to declutter. Purely as I have chosen to live in a nice studio apartment in Zurich. I use the one out rule first before something new comes in. But the articles need to be of the same category eg: a pair of trainers out and only then the new ones come in. This is a great way of not storing old things. Nor do I keep things with the idea of I may need this thing one day in the future. Why is it that all the kitchen countertops and table collect clutter? I swear my family is clutter-blind! They just don't see it. I'm working on this mindful decluttering process, but it's going to take awhile. Thanks for the suggestions.
Sean, I think you just discovered a new word: clutter-blind. haha I love it! Kitchen countertops and kitchen in general is such a challenge for me. I try my best to clear it after every meal so that it doesn't have a chance to accumulate. Hope you are having a great sunday
@@MalamaLife Hi Sophie! I can't take credit for clutter-blind, I'm sure I heard it on TV somewhere. I think it's a common condition though! Our kitchen clutter is part of my old house design. The side entry door that we all use goes right into the kitchen, so stuff just accumulates there. Maybe someday I'll get to remodel, for now I just need to keep after it. I had a pretty good day, I hope you have a great day too!
I like better decluttering and donating stuff in my home then shopping. I dread shopping of any kind. Specially now with covid going on I hate going inside stores.
I have to agree with you. Since the lockdown in February, I haven't felt the need or any desire to shop! decluttering and seeing my home clean and organized is way more fun
I am sharing home with my mom. I wanna go the minimalist way and planned couple of months ago to discard things that is not being use at all but my mom is such a- I don’t know 🤷🏻♀️ she doesn’t like to throw things because she said it can be use for some time. But me, as I’m the one cleaning the entire house really gets tired about those stuffs. I don’t know if this make sense but it became our argument every time I try to throw away things I know that is useless. Maybe because she owns the house but damn I’m the one cleaning and organizing though 🙄😫
Oh I'm sure that can be really frustrating when you are making strides towards an organized and minimalist home, but you don't see eye to eye with other family members. This is something that I struggle with because I am quite frugal so I don't want to throw things away, but at the same time, I want to throw away things that aren't being used now. I hope you and your mom can find a middle ground and negotiate while you live there!
@@MalamaLife ☺️ yes I hope we can organized things soon. Thank you Happy Holidays to you! I am watching your videos one by one it’s really helpful and calming. 😘😘😘
Help. This is coming from someone who is a habitual declutterer and minimalist (meaning I keep what I love and need only and stopped shopping after healing from the shopaholic disease). I usually declutter every 6 months, but the last 2 years, I did that more often. I am decluttering again today, and the clothes are so much harder than I thought. I have high quality items that I neither wear, nor do I feel excited about selling or giving away. I am struggling with the thought of how can I get rid of something valuable that will only increase in value over time. This is because my family has this habit of just throwing stuff away, that no way I can find anywhere now, and if I did, I wouldn't be able to afford it. Then again, these items don't really make me happy to look at. What is going on?
Which part of your home do you need to declutter the most? :)
Probably kitchen or garage.
closet space!!!

Which artist is playing the background music please?
Time to start throwing stuff out! hahaha
Yes did this today haha
It didnt let me scroll trough it like normal. Constantly skipping to other then where I placed the handle.
Sorry to hear that! I wonder why 🤔
👌👌👌😘
