40 Knots was quite a successful blind buy for me. Such a polarizing, ambery, sweet but oddly versatile fragrance. Xerjoff is such an amazing house! B612 is amazing, it’s ethereal in a way. Clean but comfortable. The biggest compliment came from my wife saying she wants me to wear this on the day our baby is born.
Looked to sample/skin test 40Knots Saks in my city doesn’t carry it, they don’t carry “The Don” either. ☹️ However yesterday I received a compliment from a complete stranger as I walked up to the desk at the hospital to get directions. Xerjoff Torino22 👍🏾
Hahaha...probably 90% of my 90-100 bottles were blind bought. Some i have sold since but most of them i still have and love. Some I have purchased because of you or other reviewers. I regret none of these purchases. They have allowed me to experiment and get to know what I want and what I like. Some of these blind buys were not cheap: 40 knots, Lune Féline, Safran Colognisé Kajal Lamar, Kajal Homme, Soul Batik,...but i blind bought them anyway as I knew I would most likely love them. I knew because of the countless cheap blind buys I had done. I guess that what I am trying to say is that as you get further and further in this hobby, your knowledge about your own tastes increases. Great video by the way, several of those on the list are indeed spectacular: Pasha de Cartier, 40Knots,...
40 Knotts...to me that's more than words. It wasn't love at first sight. I ordered it directly from Xerjoff 3 months ago as a sample and something kept dragging me back to it even more than Don, Torino 21 or Naxos. Now I got a 50 ml bottle and it's my signature scent. I also tried it in the heat and it's surprisingly great for a powdery scent, it changes and dances around in a very magical way, it's not linear at all. As for blind buys I'll probably never regret purchasing: Dunhill Egyptian Smoke, Dunhill Agarwood and Terre d'hermes Eau Givree. Thanks for another great one and for constantly educating everyone. Peace!
@@Ceko well, it doesn't 😊 they're completely different profiles and the occasions you would be wearing them in are also different. Agarwood is very "bold" and in your face, it's a strong commanding scent. Egyptian Smoke is a little bit more versatile, it has a nice soft rose, a bit sweet and to me at least it smells a little bit like honey. It's hard to describe because it has a slight skankiness that balances it, I could swear it's leather although the official notes don't list leather in it. It projects very well and last a long 12 hours -but on some people it lasts 2hours. I believe that the latter category goes anosmic to it, they can't smell it anymore and they assume it lasts 2 hours. Every time I wore Egyptian Smoke several people told me that it's very strong, but none of them complained of how it smells, they all found it interesting in a good way. Try a sample, you might like it 😊
L'homme Ideal Intense is amazing. If it's been reformulated it hasn't hurt it any. Still performs great. My favorite in the line. And you are the reason I got 3am. It's a great cheapie. I gave 12 dollars for it I think
I have not tried all of these yet. I did blind buy Pasha Cartier and Nishane B612 because how much you have praised them in the past. Wow! They are both fantastic. Thank you
Eau Givrée literally turned me into a wild animal the first time i smelled it. I LOVE the smell of grapefruit, and I couldn't get over its hyper realistic fresh grapefruit thing its got going on in the opening. But then when that simmers down, its just a refreshing cool breeze. One of my most recent favorites by far. 10/10 recommend.
I have a decent collection (around 70 bottles) but I rarely get any compliments. However I wore 40 knots for a night out and instantly got complimented. Well done on the great video mate 👏🏼
Keeps your eyes peeled At Burlingtons for Sean John 3am… That’s usually where it pops up for $20/100ml, $15/50ml… excellent price for a great cheapie… Also… Some of the Summer editions of Issey Miyake will give you a similar feel to 3am.. higher quality and slightly different scent profile.. but similar feel. They usually run $35-$50 depending on size amd release… but admittedly it’s been a minute since I last checked them out online… Great list !
Even for me, a person who lives in a big city with numerous niche-perfume providers, I am often forced to blind buy. I believe Blind buying should be kept to a minimum. Though I’m not sure it can (or should be) avoided altogether. Many of the frags you featured in this video were blind buys for me-and were winners. For me, it’s great fun to blind buy a “Cartier Pasha Parfum” and be pleasantly surprised.
What bothers me about blind buying is that people will do it and then when they hate the scent because it doesn't drench loins, they give it a terrible review. If someone blind buys and hates the perfume, they should just suck it up and move on.
Still love pasha le Parfum for the colder time, got into it due to you recommending it and I have worn it as a daily driver from January/February to late march to the office. Would have never thought about it on my own, tbh. But your recommendations made it sound so appealing I had to have it, and now my bottle’s almost empty :)
JC!! What's good fam!! Appreciate you and you do for the community! We all appreciate you! Thanks for always brings us closer to our next fragrance buy! Keep up the great work Young King!! BTW great video fam! Just ordered 40 knots, thanks again for all of the amazing blind buys!!
40 knots is less potent than More than Words or Ivory route. Or maybe it have to mature more. Sometimes 40 knots amazes me, sometimes I don't understand it's complexity ... Very strange feeling with that one.
Pasha de Cartier is one of the few fragrances that blew me away the very first time smelled it! I absolutely love NR Bleu Noir EDP....planned on getting Eau Givree but then recently tried Cartier Haute Fraicheur and I was blown away.
Great channel. Worst blind buy….hmmmm…I’ll go with a fragrance type. I started my fragrance journey as a teenager in the 80’s so I’m drawn to barbershopish fragrances. I’ve blind brought soooo many of these and they smell fine, but do I really need 25 fougers?
Blind bought B-612 off the discounters for a really good price based on your(and others) reviews. After how much I loved Fan Your Flames, I figured I couldn’t go wrong! Should be arriving in a couple days and I can’t wait.❤️🔥
Glad I found your channel! Amazing production. Yes dont blind buy 40 Knots. Had a sample. Smells like baby powder to my nose, a complex baby powder. Gave it a few more tries. Really smells like baby powder to me and dont like it.
Great video jus, I’ve blind buyed almost all. And I hit on something I enjoy 80-85 percent of the time . I know what I enjoy and what I don’t so I think that helps when blind buying
My top ten best blind buys: #10 Bleu Noir EDT Extreme (admittedly, the bottle really tipped the scale to buy), #9: The One Royal Night, #8: Ombre Leather EDP, #7: Wanted by Night, #6: Edition Blanche, #5: Sedley, #4: Bleu Electrique, #3: The One Luminous Night, #2: Nio, #1: Dior Homme Parfum. Half of these I couldn't get samples so it was either get them and hope for the best, or never smell them. Thankfully, everything worked out great.
It's incredible how differently fragrances can smell in the air vs upclose on skin. Here are some that I wasnt crazy about at first, but once I smelled their scent cloud: AMAZINGNESS! Issey Miyake Or Encens Amouage Interlude Black Iris PdM Layton Exclusif PdM Sedley Ferragamo F Black John Varvatos Artisan Pure
My two best blind buys this year are Terre d'Hermes Eau Givrée and Torino21 by Xerjoff. Eau Givrée is a sharp and citrusy experience of a fragrance and it lasts on my skin for a freshie. Can't wait to wear this in the hot summer months. Torino21 is a minty, fresh and a herbaceous masterpiece imo. The mint and lemon work in unison together. You get the herbal/green aspect with the basil. A touch of sweetness with the black currant and a clean/ citrusy vibe with the lemon Verbena. Another fragrance I will be excited to wear this summer. I encourage people to get a sample of Torino21 it's that good!!
Hey Justin! I got a sample of Pasha EDT with another purchase and thought it was really great. Shortly after, I saw a video of you talking about the Parfum so I started digging looking for some comparisons of it to things I've smelled. I ended up blind buying it cause it was getting so much hype. I know, I know; not smart but it came and I loved it! So unique and classy. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find 1 person that agrees. I definitely don't buy/wear frags for anyone else but me but the feedback I've gotten from those I spend the most time with is just too bad for me to get much use out of it without making someone nauseous. Do you have any frags like that and if so, how do you go about getting use from them without offending people. Dumb question, but I'm curious to know your opinion. Thanks brother, keep killing it with these videos.
I'm sorry to hear it hasn't been working for others around you. I'm curious: what is your relationship to these people? Also, how much did you spray, and in what kind of environment (weather-wise) were you wearing it?
Hi Justin - great video as always. And I like the try before you buy ideology. I watch some of the other fragrance RUclips channels and the one that always gets mentioned is sense split as they do samples of most of the fragrances out there. So I thought - I'd mention it to you, just in case you didn't know about it. I think, it's a good thing that people try before they buy. Myself - I've got a bit of a network at Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, most of the ladies at this stores know my name and always let me know when there's a new fragrance coming out. I have no idea how they know my name other than when I stop women to ask if this smells nice of me. Then the ladies stay to have a chat about different fragrances. Looking forward to your next video.
I love Pasha de Cartier parfum. I love the original Pasha also, its a fine fougère in my opinion, but for the warmer days i think the Eau Généreuse is the best, but i can’t find nothing about this flanker.
I love the Ideal line but the EDT, EDP, and Intense really do not react well to high heat and humidity. I wore the EDP out on a walk once and it smelled like cherry cough syrup. My favorite blind buy is still the one that got me started, Encre Noir. I had never smelled a perfume that appealed to me so much before. I was in a sea of ADG, Invictus, and Cool Water and never thought I would wear a cologne that didn't give me headaches.
Hey Justin. That Caron is absolutely amazing. Simple concept but the scent is what draws you in. The Kenzo is moving up on my wear list. Along with the EDT intense, 2 really nice releases from Kenzo. The Guerlain Intense and the Extreme are must haves. The Cartier and the Narcisso get a lot of wear too. Thanks for the video.
B-612, Aimez Moi, Kenzo and 40 knots, sounds very interesting. Ebene Fume is out of this world, it is so good that I can't decide between it and the re-released Bois Marocain. l' homme ideal intense is my favorite of this series, and yes thanks to you I went and smelled all of them and ended up getting a 50ml of the intense. Pasha EDP is lovely. Have to try Bleu Noir again, I tried a bottle of the original Narciso pour Homme: too sweet to the extent of being cloying. Eau Givre is VERY tempting.. Am holding back a bit.
Justin, would you find time for a weekly rotation. Maybe you could find a title that connects the fragrances you wore for the week. It'll be nice to get your opinion on all your fragrances throughout the year.
I have 3am and its indeed a good buy especially when its under 20 usd; not 50 usd.. pasha parfum is also good. Theres that gentlemanly touch but already modernized 40 knots is a good scent but a little more of a misnomer to me like royal oud. Aimez moi comme je suis is what im really interested in this list. Sounds interesting based on name and notes
I bought a B-612 last week, waited impatiently for 5 days for it to arrive, when it arrived it fell off the shelf and broke on the floor!!!! And so $170 goes with the wind... Fucking good perfume!
I remember that recent live where you unboxed 40 Knots and it was very unexpected for you, since it wasn't at all in-line with what you were expecting. I quit blindbuying, my last one was Ristretto Intense Cafe from Montale which I decluttered quite a while ago. As much as the coffee now overpowers the rose, there's still too much rose imo.
thank you Justin - for being r e a l .... In future - it will be RARE for me to purchase a perfume. As I have soo many. Even enough to easily last me 10 years. But still I watch your Chanel. As in future - as with a sniper he chooses CAREFULLY his next kill.
I try not to blind buy, but I have one on the way to me tomorrow, I think. Tubéreuse Vertigineuse by Molinard. Ive been on a real white floral/tuberose kick, and I'm really excited/nervous about it, and hope it turns out well!
I have the TF one, it's great, it reminds me of something but not sure what. It's like a grown up, slightly subtle version of that Lattafa by the fireplace clone. It's not as strong though. That Kenzo one reminded me that I have a bottle of Kenzo Homme from the 90s that I totally overlooked. I gave it a spray, wow, forgot how good it was/is.
40 knots was nothing like what you tubers were saying about it , I don’t really get this aquatic sailing vibe and I sail in the Mediterranean, I think it’s complex and it grows on you , I like it now after several wearings.
Reminds me of Enigma. A summer version of Enigma. I sprayed 40 Knots and it immediately reminded me of Enigma. I sprayed one on one arm, the other on the other arm and yup, so similar to me.
i personally just blind buy a lot ... i collect so if i dont like it at least i can say i have it hahaha ... but thats just me i have the fragrances i enjoy and the ones ill have in my collection for life.
+1 Kenzo Homme EDP or EDT Intense (own this one). Quentin Bisch same perfumer of PDM Carlise (also own). Solid quality. EDT Intense insanely good spring and summer fragrance and beast mode lasting.
@@stayfreshproductions indeed. And just like Carlisle the dry down develops in something that constantly floats in the air and weirdly magnetic scent you cannot describe that keep you wondering where this crazy good smell is coming from.
But there is something in blind buys and that too multiple😂😅. It just makes the unboxing and smelling process so exciting. A great feeling but whenever I’ve done it, I’ve got at least 1 or 2 that I’m looking to sell afterwards lol.
@@stayfreshproductions based on your chill personality and it’s a bold yet classy fragrance with a nice note of oud but not for beginner. The sillage is like someone with muscle and tall.
Dude it’s actually ridiculous that you can’t find a bottle of 3AM online practically anywhere right now and especially not for the price that it used to be. Absurd.
Whispers in the Library, Penhaligon Endymion, Virgin Island Water, Kerosene Followed, Orion.. Prolly my top 5 BBs P.S Grats on the eminent 70k Cheers Mate
One of the reasons I blind buy is because I feel bad going to retail stores, sampling a bunch of stuff, and then leaving... Some of those workers are trying to earn a commission, so I don't want to waste their time, especially if I intend to buy from a discounter...
Justin- video idea-- a tornado swoops in and completely destroys your place (you and Grace were in Taiwan visiting us so you are both TOTALLY safe) but ALL your fragrances are gone (you only took tiny decants to Taiwan) and I wanna know... WHAT ARE THE FIRST TEN OR FIFTEEN (at the most!) FRAGRANCES that you are going to IMMEDIATELY purchase / replace because you can't live without them...? I want to watch this video!! 🎉
@@stayfreshproductions the first part was just to give your video some drama.... Don't worry lol... but seriously that video would be easy for me with only about 100 fragrances but for people with over 500 or even 1000 I’m so curious as to which 10 or 15 they would buy first
I’m the opposite. I’ll blind buy in a heartbeat and it’s bad 😂😂 for the most part if I don’t like it at first I’ll give it a wear or 2, give it a week then comeback and see. If I still don’t like it I’d let one of my Marine’s smell it and if he liked it I’d give it to him but imma work on the blind buying
Tom ford ebone fume was an absolute banger. I went to Sephora to check out some fragrances and out of all of the fragrances they had there I bought two. Terre d’Hermes intense vetiver & ebene fume 🤌🏾🤌🏾
Justin says- don't blind buy fragrances,it's dishonest to your senses... pretentious is a given when I buy fragrances though, I feel the path I'm on, this journey of scents helps me grow as a human...this is why I'm referring to the gentleman and women watching my videos you shouldn't blind buy it's uncouth...oh did I mention this is a list for MY blind buys? Have a wonderful and pleasant smelling evening
I blind buy every fragrance after doing exhaustive research and seeing if it vibes with my soul. Also I am legally blind so in a way. Everything is a blind buy LO. L.
3AM is literally just an Iso E Super bomb. Haha. Everyone says tonic water. I don't get it. I got it when it was cheap and never reach for it. Just too linear and boring. If I want to smell like 3AM I'll just throw on some raw iso with a dab of bergamot. Haha. Maybe people who don't have & smell raw liquids regularly appreciate this more than someone who is constantly sniffing on frag notes. I'm shocked that you love it so much though. Are you a big fan of Molecule 01 as well? Everyone's noses are different. Maybe my nose is missing some notes that yours is picking up.
@@stayfreshproductions Very true. I rarely wear one of my favorites to work because a close coworker is so turned off by it. He says Chanel Allure Home Sport Eau Extreme smells like old woman. I can typically tell if something is really really good because he'll hate it. 😂

Tree sap? Haha. I don’t get that at all. But all good!
3 AM is probably my favorote blind buy!
Justin, would you find time for a weekly rotation. Maybe you could find a title that connects the fragrances you wore for the week. It'll be nice to get your opinion on all your fragrances throughout the year.
I'll consider it!
@@stayfreshproductions 🙂
I would love if you would try the house of Veronique Gabai. The one I love the most from the line is called sexy Garrigue.
Spot on lad loved it I had a faw of these. Anyways I would love to see u smell a new fragrance ROJA Parfums Elysium intense 👌
I will be smelling Elysium Intense soon!
@Justin Copeland smashing 👍. Yeah there extra notes seem very interesting I will say big up to you can't wait to see the review
I have 3am and its indeed a good buy especially when its under 20 usd; not 50 usd.. pasha parfum is also good. Theres that gentlemanly touch but already modernized
40 knots is a good scent but a little more of a misnomer to me like royal oud.
Aimez moi comme je suis is what im really interested in this list. Sounds interesting based on name and notes
Aimez-Moi is lovely! Simple but great.
3am is such a banger for the price. very nice when you’re going swimming.
I bought a B-612 last week, waited impatiently for 5 days for it to arrive, when it arrived it fell off the shelf and broke on the floor!!!! And so $170 goes with the wind... Fucking good perfume!
My heart broke for you
Agghh!!!
Thank you Justin I enjoyed this video
I love the junu afro beats sound track.
Thank you so much for watching.
See if you can do a video on your top 80s and 90s fragrances. Thanks.
I try not to blind buy, but I have one on the way to me tomorrow, I think. Tubéreuse Vertigineuse by Molinard. Ive been on a real white floral/tuberose kick, and I'm really excited/nervous about it, and hope it turns out well!
I hope it does too!
I love 40 knots ❤
I love my 40 knots by Xerjoff
Yo ebone fume is so damn good and warm. Killin mergellas by the fireplace.
i personally just blind buy a lot ... i collect so if i dont like it at least i can say i have it hahaha ... but thats just me
i have the fragrances i enjoy and the ones ill have in my collection for life.
I'm almost certain that you can do a top 10 video on what's in your collection that went from decant to full bottles.
I've definitely done that before, and might do it again!
Actually 40 knots is one of the best blind buys, i dont think anyone could hate it, must buy if youre into niche .... 10/10
+1 Kenzo Homme EDP or EDT Intense (own this one). Quentin Bisch same perfumer of PDM Carlise (also own). Solid quality. EDT Intense insanely good spring and summer fragrance and beast mode lasting.
Just smelled both EDP and EDT and they're so different from each other. Both great but I think the EDP is really unusual and standout.
I forgot he did Carlisle!
Justin i think your Signature fragrance could be Xerjoff Alexandria II by the way you look.
Why do you think so?
@@stayfreshproductions based on your chill personality and it’s a bold yet classy fragrance with a nice note of oud but not for beginner. The sillage is like someone with muscle and tall.
@@TeyanThuny ah ok. I do have it and it’s nice.
What about longetivity and projection of TDH eau givrée ?
It will depend. But it is a fresher citrus-based fragrance, which we can't expect to be super strong. I get 7-10 hours.
@@stayfreshproductions thanks
You should try Bohemian lime Justin. It's a fresh fragrance with a backbone to it.
That was a blind buy for me (along with Pacific Rock Moss), and I love them both. They are probably the best blind buys I ever made.
I'd love to try that.
Love b-612, was kinda wishing they’d do an X version.
Prolly my top 5 BBs
P.S Grats on the eminent 70k
Cheers Mate
Thanks Jonathan!
I've done a lot of blind buys, and have yet to be disappointed.
Stay Fresh Productions Baby!!!
How many spray do you recommend for 40 Knots?
3-5
I love your selection ✌
One of the reasons I blind buy is because I feel bad going to retail stores, sampling a bunch of stuff, and then leaving... Some of those workers are trying to earn a commission, so I don't want to waste their time, especially if I intend to buy from a discounter...
I totally understand...but that's part of the gig for them! It's totally fair to sniff things and not feel compelled to buy something.
Another great video Brother
Need to check out the Tom Ford .
Amusingly enough I just blind bought 40 knots, but only bc everything I've been hearing is ppl saying it's their favorite scent of all time
Justin- video idea-- a tornado swoops in and completely destroys your place (you and Grace were in Taiwan visiting us so you are both TOTALLY safe) but ALL your fragrances are gone (you only took tiny decants to Taiwan) and I wanna know... WHAT ARE THE FIRST TEN OR FIFTEEN (at the most!) FRAGRANCES that you are going to IMMEDIATELY purchase / replace because you can't live without them...? I want to watch this video!! 🎉
😵💫
@@stayfreshproductions the first part was just to give your video some drama.... Don't worry lol... but seriously that video would be easy for me with only about 100 fragrances but for people with over 500 or even 1000 I’m so curious as to which 10 or 15 they would buy first
I like your selection :)
Thanks!
I can't decide if I like 40 knots or not.
If you can’t decide, that’s a no
Nice list. I find that "safe blind buys" are are very subjective. I couldn't recommend anyone ever blind buys anything I like.
Much success! God bless!
Before I even finish the video I bet kenzo made the list.😂😂 Yep it made the list.😂
Is kenzo homme edp very masculine?
I’d say so!
I’m the opposite. I’ll blind buy in a heartbeat and it’s bad 😂😂 for the most part if I don’t like it at first I’ll give it a wear or 2, give it a week then comeback and see. If I still don’t like it I’d let one of my Marine’s smell it and if he liked it I’d give it to him but imma work on the blind buying
i cant find 3 am by sean john anywhere, so curious about that one
That was not a good blind buy for me. Smells cheap….
But if you really want a bottle, I will send it to you. Just reimburse me for the shipping.
@@blee1234us its not worth that much of a hassle but thank you
L'intense is a smooth operator.
Sure is.
@@stayfreshproductions How do you like Heritage or L'instant by Guerlain?🤔
Tom ford ebone fume was an absolute banger. I went to Sephora to check out some fragrances and out of all of the fragrances they had there I bought two. Terre d’Hermes intense vetiver & ebene fume 🤌🏾🤌🏾
Is it ok to get 40 Knots as a teenager
If you like it, you can wear it. If you don’t like it, it doesn’t make sense
@@stayfreshproductions I got it on a discounter for 118€
What do you think about initio fragrances
I like some more than others
Ebène fumé is the best Tom Ford fragrance
Love it 🎉
Hey J hope all is well bro.💯💯👍👍
I hope you're well, Q!
@@stayfreshproductions doing great.👍👍👍
Justin says- don't blind buy fragrances,it's dishonest to your senses... pretentious is a given when I buy fragrances though, I feel the path I'm on, this journey of scents helps me grow as a human...this is why I'm referring to the gentleman and women watching my videos you shouldn't blind buy it's uncouth...oh did I mention this is a list for MY blind buys?
Have a wonderful and pleasant smelling evening
Before you share your despair with someone you don’t know and who doesn’t know you, please recognize it as despair.
@@stayfreshproductions naaaaaaa
I recognize it as mimicking
I blind buy every fragrance after doing exhaustive research and seeing if it vibes with my soul. Also I am legally blind so in a way. Everything is a blind buy LO. L.
Haha! Fair enough! 😆
STAY FRESH💯💪🏿 "THUMBS UP"🥊🔔
3AM is literally just an Iso E Super bomb.
As you implied, everyone's taste is different. I'm sure there are fragrances you love that others may scratch their head at! 😎
@@stayfreshproductions Very true. I rarely wear one of my favorites to work because a close coworker is so turned off by it. He says Chanel Allure Home Sport Eau Extreme smells like old woman. I can typically tell if something is really really good because he'll hate it. 😂
