Stock up on the cardboard eclipse glasses now while they are still available, then walk around at the viewing party selling them to people in the hours leading up to the eclipse. I saw one guy say he made $5000 dollars in 8 hours of selling glasses. He said he started at 10 dollars, and every hour close he went up 10 more dollars in price. He was flipping glasses he paid .50 cents for 60+ bucks per pair.

I saw a partial eclipse (about 85%) in 2017 vacationing at Virginia Beach, which was super awesome (at least I thought so, I've been told I'm way too easily impressed sometimes), so this will be even better. The only downside is I work at a hotel/lodge and there are going to be a lot of guests and it'll be stressful, I may have to deal with irate/angry guests. How does it happen that some towns on this map are so horribly misplaced? Why wouldn't you just use a real map vs. plotting the towns incorrectly yourself? For example, Oxford, OH is NW of Hamilton, not SW. Eaton, OH is due west of downtown Dayton, not SSW of it.

It's all or nothing. 99.9% is simply a partial eclipse and you'll miss all the things that totality brings. You won't be able to look at the sun without eye protection. Even being in the center of the path doesn't mean a thing if it's really cloudy. The path of totality only offers about a 40% chance of clear skies in the U.S at this time of year. Mazatlan, Mexico gives you a 75% chance of blue skies. The further North you go, the worse it gets. Texas is a pretty good bet, but it's still weather dependent. Know how to read weather maps and be ready to drive.
