Looking at the assembly footage I suppose these are produced at Cosina factories in Japan and not Zeiss factories (if there are any left). I don't mind that, but makes me wonder how much is this a Zeiss product since all E-Mount lenses by Zeiss are not made by Zeiss, and many of them (Batis line) is not even designed by Zeiss. So if a lens is produced by Cosina, designed by Tokina and has a Zeiss badge on it, which is also at least partially owned by Sony ... how much Zeiss is in there? I don't mind the optimisation if it means lower prices and survival of the legacy, just wish this was a bit more transparent ... and maybe cheaper for what it is.
Seems like these would work on Nikon Z mount, there is an adapter for E mount to Z mount, it makes sense to think they could easily do a Z mount version. With RED under the Nikon umbrella, there might be a Z mount camera added soon.
These are very tempting set for the price. Wondering if its worth buying the set or just individually, as I mostly use the 35, 50 and 85-100. If they make an L mount version, then I'd consider a small 3 lens set.
Right? I think there are a lot of shooters out there who would be interested in smaller sets in general. I love the idea of a three lens cine set.
