Adding shutter angle function should be easy as it is a simple conversion to do in software. Fixing the no Sony battery issue would be much more useful imo.
*it would be nice if they include a update the stupid warning for using Dummy Batteries as it wasn't an issue b4 the last update so yeah that would be a nice touch*
@@DOPJoshDiazthanks for making this video… I have a fx30 I’ve been waiting for Sony to pro features in there cameras for a long time… man it’s crazy we gotta cry about features that should’ve already been there…
Sony shooters say the craziest things. The FX3 is “well into its life cycle” after only 2 years. This update is Sony doing the bare minimum. Their FX line is amazing for a very few specific chores but generally it’s lacking in so many areas.
The same is true for Blackmagic cameras. Superior image quality definitely goes to Blackmagic, but I bought an FX30 because of the autofocus, image stabilization, flipable screen for filming myself when needed, lower price than the 6k pro, etc It depends in your use case. I'm going to be filming videos for youtube, both filming myself and on the fly as we are doing cleaning work in the field, so the FX30 is just better. I would love to get a 6k pro next though, for personal use and if I have more time to put into making a video.
Wow it would be nice if they actually fixed the memory mode so you can actually set a custom whitebalance but I guess only people who actually use the camera care about this feature.
You might be mistaken. Monitor&Control is a new app for controlling SONY cinema line cameras. False color and waveform are not in camera body. 😅😅😅. I need true 30P and true 60P, OpenGate, and XAVC-HS for 25p and 30P 😅
For everyone waiting on a firmware update be very careful. My fx3 is about 3 years old and out of warranty I updated from firmware 4.0 to 5.0 through the creators app it literally bricked my camera and it was not operable I got in touch with Sony Pro support and send it off to Precision Camera and in turn was quoted $1,100 and with Pro support I get 20% off and then they told me that because the cameras out of warranty they can give me an extra 10% off but I still have to pay for my camera being brick from a firmware update because it is out of warranty apparently the Control Board needs replaced also part of that quote is to replace the sensor filter that is not related
I guess I made enough of a fuss. Sony decided to refund me for the repairs. Still not sure what happened but i'd like them to hopefully keep it from happening in the future

Ooo, I never thought about that.
no one should be putting third party batteries in a 4k+ dollar camera its not wort the price differance

or, yea know, BUY A SONY BATTERY THAT WON'T RUIN YOUR CAMERA?
@@evolicious none of the batteries I've ever bought 3rd party has EVER ruined my Sony camera's on ANY level.
Shutter angle on FX3 is amazing, but whyyyyy September 😭
I'm genuinely surprised that it's coming! Didn't think they'd put in the time after two years.
@@DOPJoshDiaz Yeah I thought it would come in the next camera. I really appreciate Sony giving us these updates - better late than never

Geeez.. I’d appreciate an attachable EVF and variable ND filter tool. But.. that’d obviously be asking for too much.
I don’t get the shutter angle thing, I can shoot 1/48s on the fx30? So what changed?
Nothing but 99% of RUclipsrs are wannabe cinematographers that feel good to use a shutter angle.
Streaming in 4K 30 fps not possible why ?
No False color why ?
Dominate in the prosumer area of cinematography but they are just now getting Sutter angle?
It seems a lot of creators can make due without it.

Wait will there be false color in the fx6?

Fx3 need open gate
That would be fun.
@@DOPJoshDiaz and also variable shutter like on the FX30 and A7RV that thing is game changer. F... shutter angle, variable shutter is wayyy better imo
RIP to the FX9
I think the FX9 still has its place in the professional space. But jeez that FX6... looking nicer every update.
The a7s3 will never be in the cool kids club again (sad face emoji).
Yeah, it feels pretty cold to be an S-line user this generation.

Another cripple hammer firmware.
Should we expect open gate in 2025? Or the upgraded model?
I'm on the fence about if Sony will add open gate to these cameras. If you asked me today I'd say no.
