What lens did you use for this shot ? You have a very pronounced blurry background and I’m struggling to have the same with FX30 (using sigma 16mm 1.4)
Not sure which shot you’re referring to specifically but a lot of this video was filmed with a Sony 24-70 2.8. Longer focal lengths and moving the subject closer to the camera makes throwing the background out of focus a lot easier!
Did you honestly say Sony has been listening to its user base.😂 Uhh, yeah I don't know about that one. How long has A7S3 been out? How many cameras have had updates besides the A7S3? it's not even close to the updates FX3 got. I mean I'm happy they did something but this is like when Apple finally did USB-C charging they only did it cause the government forced them not cause they cared. That's how I see the Sony A7S3 update not cause they wanted, cause it's been alot of posts by the A7S3 community of how Sony has abandoned them. they promoted A7S3 as the best camera ever, only camera you'll ever need! So yayy for that update but it took how many years just for Lens comp? 🤔 But this is about FX3 and FX30 updates! Good for them!
Hmmmm, very mixed feelings about this update. Happy for all those who want Shutter Angle added, (not a feature I particularly need), but we still won't be able to record internally in 4k while recording DNxHR HQX externally in CINE EI. Still can't add Clear Image Zoom to an Assignable button. Nor can you add Imager Scan to an Assignable Button. Updating to enable these features would have been very handy indeed. Grrr!
I could see features like that make it in the firmware update but not in the press release 🤞 You can assign clear image zoom to the zoom rocker though!
Hi, will check the firmware update info once full details are released. You can add the Zoom Handle controls to an assignable button but not the Clear Image Zoom. It's not listed in the menu items: • Base ISO/Sensitivity • AGC • Push AGC • ND Filter Position • Auto ND Filter • Push Auto ND • Auto Iris • Push Auto Iris • Auto Shutter • Auto Exposure Level • Backlight • Spotlight • Preset White Select • ATW • ATW Hold • AF Speed/Sens. • Focus Setting • Focus Area • Focus Area(AF-S) • Face/Eye Detection AF • Push AF Mode • Push AF/Push MF • Focus Hold • Focus Magnifier x3/x6 • Focus Magnifier x3 • Focus Magnifier x6 • S&Q Motion • SteadyShot • Rec • Rec Review • Clip Flag OK • Clip Flag NG • Clip Flag Keep • Color Bars • Tally [Front] • DURATION/TC/U-BIT • Display • Lens Info • Video Signal Monitor • Marker • VF Adjust • VF Mode • Gamma Display Assist • Peaking • Zebra • Volume • Thumbnail • Touch Operation • Handle Zoom • NFC • Auto Upload (Proxy) • Direct Menu • User Menu • Menu Also the rocker handle is pants. It has a fundamental design flaw which results in a bit of give or play when attached to the FX6 body or an extension arm. I suspect it's to do with the way the metal is machined. It's really annoying and very distracting so i don't ever use it. Opt for a simple wooden grip that doesn't have any give/play.
I hate being a Debbie downer but 180° is not a rule. If you change your frame rate and keep the shutter then you still have to adjust your exposure anyway. It’s not a time saver. 180 shutter at high frame rates is not even good because you lose your light. It’s just a bit silly to mindlessly attach yourself to 180 at higher frame rates and create other problems.
That's why you use lighting and ND, and adjust your aperture. Maintaining a consistent level of motion blur is important to a lot of filmmakers. If you happen to prefer adjusting your shutter speed outside of the 180 degree rule though, then you do you.
People hate on Sony fx30 lol watch how many come back to Sony I remember getting laughed at for having a Sony back in 2014 everyone was still on canon cuz of the “color science “ I can tell you damn near everyone that is coming to get a camera is a Sony user now. If you don’t know how to shoot then please stay at your ready made canon lol
Very overhyped update. Shutter angle is comically talked about on YT.
so happy I waited 5 years for the A7Siii, they give us so many updates

@@RileyEndicott Hello thank you for the response, I was referring to the Talking head shots :D
Updates will be available in SEPTEMBER 2024? that is like 9 months from now!
not worth to talk about ... minor updates and wait until Sep 2024 . Just get Lumix s5II and enjoy shooting
