thats a testament to this channel, skate or die is bottom-of-the-barrel, screw a second take right? Idk why I keep watching this channel it's all like, sub-buzzfeed tier.
Max Zavala I mean Rodney created flat Ollie, kick flip, and 3 flip. You can say he’s more of a free style street skater but he created the 3 main Street tricks.
Thanks for doing this documentary. Always wonderful to see legends and remember their golden years. A true icon and a blast to play in the Tony Hawk Games to unlock his videos in the games.
So was Menikmati and Yeah Right. Menikmati was the best video for a long while. Still one the best. Legendary line up, great cinematic value, iconic tricks
This is Legendary content. Man I miss those days. Skateboarding was a way of life where I come from. It brought us together as a community. And you don’t see that type of comradery anymore in the communities. Definitely from a much simpler time. Thanks for all the content you created koston. Much respect✊
Woah woah woah woah I got real confused when you said Eric Koston was born in 1965 (I know now that you meant 1975 but it caught me off guard) I was like there is NO way Eric Koston is 55 years old 😂😂😂😂😂😂
honestly these types of vids are my favorite cuz i like to game or just chill and hear everything abt these skaters and i’ve been waiting on u to make a vid on eric tbh :)
Eric Koston was the first dude I've ever seen skate in a Lakers jersey & shorts with some basketball shoes on. 😂 g shit. Plus he's from my hometown! Peace from San Bernardino! 🙌🏿
When his part in the hstreet video came out, it was next level street skating to DJ quik I watched over and over. I couldn’t believe he was so good on street and could do a vert ramp 540 too.
Ok what do I do I've been skating for a while like a good 2 /3 years well I had pulled all the nevers in my left foot I skate goofy so when im doing trick I pop with my left but in to scared cause I don't want to get hurt
I was gonna post the same thing lol. This vid even mimics the same time progression and everything. This is henious. Mispronouncing both el gato and marianos names in the vid lol DAMN
it's sick how skateboarding became legitimized over time; it didn't die a premature death or be some kind of short term thing. It grew and grew and kept growing and evolving and now it's legit worldwide.
He was my favorite skater not just because I loved his style but because I thought he was hilarious. He jokes around alot. Which to me is what skateboarding is good for. Goofin' off
Is it just me or did you leave out how he started numbers recently? And I think he has a couple clips up skating for numbers too. Idk if I just missed it but thought it was worth mentioning
Pro skater from San Francisco Bay Area Arron kyro i heard is going to rehab for his drug antics in his last video he appeared in and because he was on video when he was on drugs he is going to rehab I guess
I was originally excited when this video came up on my feed, I was expecting a video highlighting Koston’s video parts or specific tricks from those videos, making an argument for why Koston is the King of Skate Videos as the title says. I normally don’t comment on RUclips videos, but I could only make it a few minutes into it, this felt too much like it was literally just stealing the Epicly Later’d episodes with a little bit of commentary added.
A quick suggestion, balance out the volume of commentaries. Your narrating is louder than the interview clips. Found myself constantly adjusting the volume
bro when can we just get a vid of you skating ?
Fr tho
@@kazyyss pls
Yah like when
Let's blow this comment up
This comment needs to blow up
he was born in '75, video said '65 : )
thats a testament to this channel, skate or die is bottom-of-the-barrel, screw a second take right? Idk why I keep watching this channel it's all like, sub-buzzfeed tier.
He also said Rodney Mullen created street skating when we all know Mark is the one who adapted his freestyle tricks to the streets.
1965??
Max Zavala I mean Rodney created flat Ollie, kick flip, and 3 flip. You can say he’s more of a free style street skater but he created the 3 main Street tricks.
yeah that threw me off, i was like bruh?
Just smacked my head trying to drop in. I love this channel btw
Thanks for doing this documentary. Always wonderful to see legends and remember their golden years. A true icon and a blast to play in the Tony Hawk Games to unlock his videos in the games.
he's was my favorite skater growing up. crail tap was super cool, I love watching their little webisodes. lakai fully flared was a game-changer
So was Menikmati and Yeah Right.
Menikmati was the best video for a long while. Still one the best. Legendary line up, great cinematic value, iconic tricks

@Eugene Henderson in his latest video he said “A-RILLIAN GIRRARD”

Yeah Right! Still one of my favorite videos ever, and the koston 1s still one of my favorite shoes.
Loved the video! Eric Koston inspired me to start skateboarding and film/edit skate videos. Just came from skate sesh to watch this lol
Post them on RUclips
@@themahoney6758 I've been thinking about it. Maybe i will?
wall9r Main don’t make it a maybe do it
You didn’t mention how he started his own company the berics with Kosten and Steve Berra
Kosten lol
DARRENTINOnz I love the berrics

Such a natural skater. Makes it look easy. Could watch him skate all day.
One of the best natural skateboarders ever 🐐
6:44 do you need to participate in camps to be pro or can you became one with video parts and stuff?
GOAT - Cole and Koston, 2nd place goes to guy and caroll, 3rd place LADD and P-Rod
Daewon somewhere in there. Joslin made his way in.
Koston and P Rod where MJ and Kobe for me
Yo, I'm one of the kids from the horror story about pushing on your stomach and losing teeth.
Eric koston just seems like a genuinely nice guy
It’s awesome ur channel is getting more attention.
I love these Skatestories, keep them coming bro.
What's with the FA board at 0:24?
12:56 koston left dude hangin, i felt that
Yo hearing he grew up in San Bernadino is amazing. Inland Empire baby!!

Hated how they added the new soundtrack after the infringement issues.

Got here just in time for another great video 😀
Great video. Love the education and story telling.
9:46 Guy Mareeno 🤦🏽♂️
His horrible mongo pushing always got me 🤣
Back in the day lots of people pushed mongo when skating switch, it always looks silly though. My buddy pushes mongo just to skate regular though.
When the first FACT you say is wrong! 😅 He was born in 1975 not 65!
This is basically you just recutting and talking over Koston's Epicly Later'd...
I was gonna post the same thing lol. This vid even mimics the same time progression and everything. This is henious. Mispronouncing both el gato and marianos names in the vid lol DAMN
Let em know 👌
Bruh I was boutta say the same thing. Lazy ! Might as well go watch his epicly later’d instead
6:00 is a cymatics sample

Dude I love the skate stories
These skate stories are awesome
Thank you for sharing. Amazing. Art ♾️
Eric Koston: Do a kickflip Skate Or Die!
Skate Or Die: Shows kickflip garage video.
5:41 the “mini ramp” in that guy’s backyard
Smuggle Muffins
He said he had a half-pipe and a mini ramp. That was the half-pipe.
i love in skating how so many people say "he was THE best at the time" about so many different people.
Koston had most saying that about him
it's sick how skateboarding became legitimized over time; it didn't die a premature death or be some kind of short term thing. It grew and grew and kept growing and evolving and now it's legit worldwide.
You should do one on the Phelper himself
I just binge watched the entire skate stories series and then this came out and it's 3 am
He was my favorite skater not just because I loved his style but because I thought he was hilarious. He jokes around alot. Which to me is what skateboarding is good for. Goofin' off
He always had a big iconic trick in his vids
Eric has always been an incredible skater and he pushed mongo which is very rear and harder than pushing with back foot that only some pros do.
Is it just me or did you leave out how he started numbers recently? And I think he has a couple clips up skating for numbers too. Idk if I just missed it but thought it was worth mentioning
those shuvs are craazy
Can you do a video on gonz?
eric really be rockin the FA nakel deck
The yeah right skate video was so fucking cool growing up
Menikmati too
Next stop is H street .... H street is next. Lol. The SD Trolley!! I grew up in Chula Vista
I just started skating and yes I have learn how to ride but can u give tips on doing tricks?
He was considered ONE of the best, but, I never heard anyone call him the best. Guy Mariano was always slightly ahead of him and still is to this day.
What size do u think is the best for a 11 year old
7.75”-8.0”
Ezekiel Humphreys thx I’ll get 8.0 because I want something different and bigger
Henry is a Bone | well if you want big and different get a 9.0+ old school bc 8.0 is one of the most popular sizes
Any udder sk8ter
Ollie? Can you ollie? KickFlip is exactly the same!!!! just move your foot a little to line up with bolts. NOTHING DIFFERENT!!! Love your channel
I love this video📈
He was born in 1975 it’s cool tho you goof just a mistake
Count on me to always say the year wrong lol
Skate Or Die omg I did not mean to say goof loll

Can you do the toughest skater mike v
have you done sean malto?

@@DARRENTINOnzOne the most iconic tricks
What about the Berrics?
That driveway quarterpipe belongs in the Smithsonian.
can we get a video of someone from the baker crew? maybe dustin?
You gotta do a skate story on Mark Gonzales
I tried grinding rail and said I fell down and almost hit my tailbone
Guy Marino, my fav skater. 😂
Yo Skate or Die can you do a skate story on Stacy Peralta? And when are you gonna do another vid of you just skating??🤟

It's "Ternasky" and "Mariano". But awesome video man. Thanks for doing it.
Dude I’m binge watching you 😳
He's probably the best but I never really thought him to be my favorite.
Ibdid the knee thing and chipped the front teeth... it hurt
Any good recommended skate shoes to get ?
Nike check solar suede
Vans but the ones up yo your ankles
Etnies mc rap
@@joslouis2502 can you move in them enough? How long do they usually last?
1975 not 1965
Next skate story's should be Daewon Song
Uh.. 1 hour ago i was in the bathroom waiting for a skater to stop doing tre flips.
If a full vid of you skating doesn't get as many views do a few minutes of highlights of you skating at the end of your normal you post
This.
Why have off white took the h street logo
Eric koston one of the best to do it
The best.
Can you do Paul rodriguez
Can you do ishod
I just copped a cal 7 board
His 360 flip nose blunt down a handrail made me quit skateboarding 😂. He took things too far 🤣
That shook the skateboard world at the time. Was the best trick anyone seen, done so steazy.
The BS Noseblunt on Hubba to was insane. Dude's iconic
Even though his prime years are behind, I wouldn’t say he’s retired, he still shreds and can keep up with other pros
Eric Koston was the OG 'Daewon'
Once you said born in 65 I was done. Cmon man.
I grew up in San Bernardino
Pleas do Bucky lasic
Oh the famous “Guy Marino” lol
You made him 55 years old😯😯
