- A playthrough of Hudson Soft's 1996 puzzle-action game for the Super NES/Super Famicom, Super Bomberman 4.
Played through the "normal mode."
The fourth installment in the Super Bomberman series picks up where the third left off in most respects. Much like SBM2 was an incremental upgrade over SBM, SBM4 is over SBM3. The shift to anime-style graphics, drum-heavy electronic music, and animals to ride are still here, but have been tweaked and updated in various ways. It plays just as well as 3, but personally, I found it to be not quite as charming or compelling as the third. The mechanics updates (upgradable monsters, trapper Bomberman helpers) did spice things up, but they feel far more like unnecessary additions than the improvements made in prior games did. The presentation is great and I really love the improved cinematics, but the fourth game just never grabbed me the way the first three did. That's merely my personal opinion though - many would argue that this is an absolute upgrade in all respects. If you are on the fence, just give it a play already. If you love Bomberman, it's still more of the same, and that's not a bad thing.
Super Bomberman 4 was also the first of two games in the series to not be released outside of Japan (the other being the fifth and final Super Bomberman title), and the second game of three to not be released in North America. It's very import friendly, though. There's very little Japanese text in the game, and even it isn't really necessary since it only provides the stage names. As long as you understand basic English, it's a snap to play.

Not gonna lie, i've tried other the bomber man titles, but none of them has catched me as this one did. I absolutely love everything about it
I agree, this one rules, also would really recommend Saturn Bomberman if you enjoy this one, since I feel it’s in a similiar style and it is just super good and underrated like many Saturn games (if you haven’t tried it already)

Here's a tip: First things first, get the glove. Now, place down a bomb and just before the bomb explodes, grab it. you can carry it around for as long as you want. Just throw it next to an enemy and he's a goner for sure since the bomb will explode almost instantly. I used to do this all the time and it's guaranteed win in battle mode.
It might not be quite as endearing as the previous three Super Bomberman titles, but it's still an excellent, explosion-filled party game that will have you playing for hours.

This game had the COOLEST bombers. one had rockets and the other a flamethrower. and more diverse ride animals that you can carry around too. it was pretty all right
That centipede boss is more of a threat to me than any of the enemy Bombers.

Jeeze the opening...even back then Blue was the lazy one! He didn’t even wake up when the ship was attacked! X’D I wonder if this cutscene why he is still lazy in R? And in the ending he’s sleeping too! Here I thought the R personalities were a new to them..
El soundtrack de la intro es sin duda pegadisa como gran parte del soundtrack de este juego, los mundos son acortados pero la experiencia es igual de divertida, los nuevos animales que se usan y las habilidades que tienen, y sin duda el diseño de los jefes, Super Bomberman 4 un excelente título algo simple pero que se quedó exclusivo de Japón.

I honestly loved this game. It has some of the coolest companions and enemies. Aside from SB 2, I like the bosses here the most.

Ive been recently playing all the classic bomberman games for the first time and WOW this one was fun. All the cool animals and machines you can ride, the awsome bosses, and the great music.

One of my goals in life is to have all the super Bomberman games.
I managed to eventually get all 5, not boxed mind you, but I got them. At times you can find people selling all 5 at once, Japanese versions of course. But if you have an SNES, just clipping the two tabs out in the cart slot unlocks a world of Japanese games for you to play.

I'm actually trying to collect all of the Super Bomberman games too (I have the second one and next I'ma get the 3rd).

Not exactly, Bagular's brain was still alive after 3, and basically pulled them from sleep and sent Bomberman White and Black (and other Bombermen) through time to fight through different eras against the Four Bomber Kings (and their leader, Great Bomber).
Terrorin in th SBM5 shows that it wasn't a dream
