Nice! I remember seeing and enjoying the steam traction engine/belt drive rides at the blandford great dorset steam fair back in the mid 2000s. Still one of the most fun festival experiences I've ever had and most have been a lot more rave-ey!

Ive only been twice but your right it is an experience i think my favourite ride has to be the Steam Yachts. This was filmed at Welland steam rally which ive heard is regarded as a mini Dorset. You'd have probably seen Doctor Busker then? He's always a great watch in the beer tent.

@@Ro33ie19 I saw a few acts in that tent but I'd be lying if I said I remembered all of them. I'd found a stand selling Welsh Mead Whisky late in the afternoon and everything gets a bit blurry after that.
The other thing was the fair was SO WELL RUN. Sanitation worked perfectly. No portaloos overflowed, they had tractors going round emptying them constantly. Instead of having one, awful sanitation area they split it up into small groups throughout the site and kept on top of them. Camp grounds were well drained. The festival was perfectly timed each year using local farmer knowledge to avoid rain.
Turns out if you just trust rural people and let them get on with things they know exactly what they are doing. Funny that.
And the WI tent... god bless those ladies. Each morning their very reasonably priced and delicious full English Breakfasts turned us from hungover, barely-coherent unpresentable yoofs into well-fed, slightly less-incoherent and slightly less disheveled yoofs ready to go find more equestrian girls.
