I had one of these in 1977. Payed $40 bucks for it. It would have been super cool if I would have been able to get it squared away. But life happens and it went by the wayside. I saw in a Peterson book at the time, one that someone put a big block 427 in it. That’s what I was thinking about, plenty of room under the hood. Nothing wild, and just making the car look good, I didn’t like all that fancy custom stuff that people did back then, 47 years ago and still don’t like now, I was 19 then.
Set it out on the highway, and put a big NOT FOR SALE sign in the windshield. HAHA just to tick people off. The story of my life. Have a good day, and good luck with it.
Nice wagon keep it paint it like ace's high cool car puller any way its a cool wagon looks straight what ever pops says I'm with him he won't lead u wrong
I have no knowledge of your skills or previous work, but if that were my old wagon and I were a young man, I would research to see if it was a Chevy Nomad Wagon made in the now missing Lakewood, GM plant in South Atlanta. I think that it was the only place that they were made and they are getting pretty rare. Good luck what ever you do.! The old professor Live Free or Die! Death to all Tyrants! If you can not get behind these historic declarations you are on the wrong side. No Shit.
Heck throw a number on it and throw it out on RUclips, IG, etcetc. If you make out well enough it gets aces high further along. If it don't go then play with it some. The tow vehicle is the way I would go if I kept it. Big engine, built for torque, big cooling etcetc. Ha ....or you can give it to me cause you're too busy for another project! 😁😁 Thanks for sharing
Oh yeah it will be back soon. I just need to decide on what direction to go with an engine, I thought I had a good 351W, but turns out it has a rusty cylinder, so I need to tear it down and see if it will bore .040 (it's already .030) and go from there.
I'm towing my new project home on Saturday, a 1953 Studebaker pickup short bed. It was easy to tell it had no Bondo since it has no paint......lol. Very few rust holes just a ton of surface rust. What do you expect for $500?? Good luck on the 57, it's a good value.
That's awesome! I love those Studebaker trucks, I think probably because of the one in the 1979 "Hot Rod" movie. I'm not a big truck guy, but if I were to build one, it'd be one of those.
@@NitroUnion It also doesn't hurt that the stock weight of the truck is 2850 pounds and has enough room under the hood for a big block with a tunnel ram with our cutting the hook. It's Sneeky.....lol
Cool! It showed being in Liberty, I'm in Summit, so I was thinking it'd be an easy deal, only 15 minutes down the road, but turns out it was in Baton Rouge, but still not bad, just had to hustle to get to it first
I honestly think that you’d be able to grow your channel by making it a build, like DD Speedshop does, keep it simple with a small block TH350, brakes, exhaust, do the floors and rockers let someone else make it nice, just make it a runner and driver.
I WOULD BUILD THAT WAGON! ....IT'S SUPER COOL! ....IT'S VERY SOLID IN MY OPINION! ....WHERE I LIVE IN THE NORTHEAST, WE'D KILL TO FIND STUFF LIKE THIS! ...THE STUFF WE HAVE IS ROTTED BEYOND WHAT YOU CAN IMAGINE!! ....MAKE A COOL DRIVER OUTTA THIS ONE!!
Thank you! That's what I'm thinking, I have some ideas on what direction I want to go with the build, nothing too crazy but I think I could make it a cool little driver/hotrod and not sink a ton of cash in to it.
Take your time and keep your spirits high. Keep it as stock as possible or. Take it to a more up to date platform. A more modern drive train with vintage ac,gage's excetra.good luck.I can't wait to see what happens next. Take care. Peace. Nuff said. Later.
Hey what’s up amigo, that’s a good project. I think you did good. I like your idea of learning how to do sheet metal work on it and selling it down the road to squeeze some money out of it for Aces High or another project. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
Looks like a cool project, one of the main things you have going for it is it being a 2 door, not many of them around....if it was me & if you are looking to sell it & try & make a few $$, try & put it together the way it is...just make it a driver...what happened to the Mustang?
That's what really drew me to it, I probably wouldn't even have looked if it was a 4 door, nothing again 4 doors, I just know the market on 2 doors is much better. I think that's what I'm going to do, fix the floors and any other structural rust, and get it going, drive it some and put it up for sale. The engine is trashed on the Stang so it's back in the garage for a bit. I did kinda spend the money I was saving for an engine on this car, but I want to build a stroker motor for the Mustang since I have to start from scratch anyway, so I'm piecing one together. It will be back in few months.
You should check out DD Speed Shop he's all about 57 Chevys and you should describe because he's giving away a 57 Chevy once he reaches 57000 describers
Nice car; I had one when I was a junior at Pasadena High School in 1969. Now I own a 56 Nomad. I love these cars. Fix it.
Nomads are good investments!
Wow! 1957 Chevy 2 door Wagons are rare! Best regards!
Looks like it was stage there to me it looked pretty clean too me for being sitting outside for quite a while glass looked pretty clean
Love the American Flag
Have 56 - 4 door same thing except bought as roller. After you pit the floors in you'll get attached its a 57 wagon IMO cooler than a sedan.
NICE BUY...................
Thanks!
Ls swap 6 SPEED blower with Blue on Black interior and exterior. NAME IT OLD SCHOOL FOOL.!!!
You did the right thing , so what else, take the mid section out cut it down to a nomad , and gas it baby !

I think you should retro-rod it
Build it as a survivor type with minimal repair stick a sbc and auto you’ll make good $ that way
There`s alot patina-car videos outthere. How about making it the shiniest piece of candy you possibly can. An all-in car..?
Build a solid clean mild street machine out of it
Build it
Thts looks like a Gem i would love tht wagon
Turn it into a a cool everyday driver.
I do have a bone stock 350/350 in a truck out back, that'd definitely be a simple deal to get going.
👨🏭🏭🏭👨🏭👨🏭👨🏭🎊📿📿📿📿📿rrttr to I r
Would make a cool tow vehicle for aces high
That is definitely a thought. It would be sweet no doubt
That is a solid unit.
It is a solid lad
You WILL fall in love with it. You make me wish I had : Space, a Garage, Tools, and MONEY.
Set it out on the highway, and put a big NOT FOR SALE sign in the windshield. HAHA just to tick people off. The story of my life.
Have a good day, and good luck with it.
Haha yeahhhh I've done many of those unsolicited "is it for sale" door knocks. Sometimes you luck up on one though!
Looks like it will be a Fun Project
I just got mine on a trade need a lot parts if you don't build yours. I'd use mine for parts for yours
Hell, it needs to be a gasser. Think I beam axle, monster blown/injected big block, power glide. 9 inch diff and go race the stuffin' out of it.
It would make a killer gasser no doubt. 🤔
Nice wagon keep it paint it like ace's high cool car puller any way its a cool wagon looks straight what ever pops says I'm with him he won't lead u wrong
Best idea. Gasser/funny car
It may be a little too nice to build into a gasser. Maybe just a nice Restomod.
If you sell it I'd like to be considered
Nice rescue man handyman wagon not much out there these days......a nice quick flip to fund the mustang ......be well🙂👍
Itza BELAIR
not a 150.
There is a lot of difference.
Chrome trim etc
AND
roll down rear glass. Etc.
Build you a Gasser out of it. Straight axel and all then race it and drive it on the streets too.
That's very tempting! The wagons make killer gassers
Great find.No matter which way you go with it.
Thank you! I’m pretty stoked on it.
It’s not the nomad but still a nice wagon, I would restored completely it’ll be a beauty when redone.
Weekend car show cruiser wagon sounds great to me!!
Takes a lot of courage & talent to tackle such a restoration, kudos!

No Shit.
That would make a great pull car for the gassers at the strip. You did good...👍👍👍
That's very true, I think I'm leaning that direction with it
I like gassers..but a gasser 57 chevy wagon ...would be nutz!!!
That's one cool car. Make it a driver and then sale it👍👍🇨🇱
What town was it found in?
Heck throw a number on it and throw it out on RUclips, IG, etcetc. If you make out well enough it gets aces high further along. If it don't go then play with it some. Gasser with psychedelic paint scheme.
Sure hope you get the Mustang up & going, we are still working on our 65, making more changes...

I saw that on marketplace. I'm over in Smith County. It's definitely a cool car and would make a killer daily driver.
Cool! It showed being in Liberty, I'm in Summit, so I was thinking it'd be an easy deal, only 15 minutes down the road, but turns out it was in Baton Rouge, but still not bad, just had to hustle to get to it first
Owned 1 as a Senior in HS. Miss mine so bad.

you know it. thanks. Mike.7
A 57 BELAIR 2 dr wagon.!!!👍👍👍
You can give it to me! Lol I’ve always wanted a 55 but a 57 would do! Awesome car I’m jealous
I would keep it and make it a parts and Tool hauler for your gasser.
Thank you! I think I'm leaning that direction, a lot of you guys agree as well haha. It would be sweet to have a pair of 57's together.

I do all the mechanicals first,,will give you more incentives if it can run and move on its own.
Take your time and keep your spirits high. Keep it as stock as possible or. Take it to a more up to date platform. A more modern drive train with vintage ac,gage's excetra.good luck.I can't wait to see what happens next. Take care. Peace. Nuff said. Later.

How close is that wheelbase to a Crown Vic?
I’ll measure it, I’ve seen a few people body swap crown Vic chassis, they look like nice swaps
Vics are almost 115". They turn vintage tin into real nice daily drivers.
Vics are 115.8.
Town Cars are 117.8
If the frame is solid, front clip it, 4 link a modern rear, and a mild 5.3 LS and trans.👍👍
Right on!! 😎😎

Wake up and look at FB marketplace, is a dangerous thing.

I've been following his channel for a while, great stuff! I've got as many 57's as him now, but could always use another haha!
I've bought 9 classic cars waiting to restore as investments,, lol,
Would be better vedios if you told what you payed,,,what's the big secret anyway
