Another option for categories (still a bit complex) is doing your monthly budget (for December for example) til it’s $0, then backing out and making a new budget called “December Groceries Budget” and just track each category like that

You mentioned with grocery you can’t easily take off smaller purchases and have the total decrease easily. Actually if you swipe and use the calculator button say -$50 groceries then the check mark it will decrease the total of your budget
I have been using this app since 2020 and would not use anything else. I set it up different to how he has set up, but i like to add budgets, so for example instead of having a single column and adding separate fees, i have a rent column, shopping column, petrol costs etc. You can also set this app up so that direct debits automatically are added to your budget. I really need to do my own video, i know this app like the back of my hand now. I love it. If there is enough demand for it let me know and i will do it.
In my experience, the link they send for the desktop app is for the paid version of the app for PC or Windows or Mac (you would have to pay twice) Just FYI

Surprised that is not a feature included because that is the purpose I use a budget app is to look at before making a purchase.

I'm currently using Monarch but would like something simpler. Would this be it?

Probably a different one! I would say go for one that has a great system for sinking funds. The one we use is EveryDollar and I've been happy with that. They have great sinking fund capabilities. I just upgraded my fudget to hopefully encourage me to follow through but I am trying to figure out how to sync my fudget from my iPhone to my iPad. Any advice on how to sync? I’ve turned on the Dropbox Save & Restore on both devices but nothing happens
Really! That’s what I would have done. I would actually reach out to the developer through the app if you haven’t already. I think it’s just an individual who built it and they could probably help
