I watched it at least once a month. That's how I stayed focus on my budget, I now have 17,500.00 for our emergency fund and only left is my house. Thank you Jesus!!!
When I Started my snowball I wrote it down in front of my desk: "I WORK SO HARD TO BE THIS BROKE". 16 months later I am debt free. This guy changes lives.

Having a budget has literally changed my life! I'll be on baby step 2 for a total of 18 months, but finally having a plan and telling my money where to go has given me back the hope that I had lost. Now THAT is priceless :)
people always think a budget means you can't ever do anything and it's quite the contrary. when we did our budget we discovered we had so much money left over after bills that we never knew we had. it's amazing and freeing!
I used to feel like "budget" was a bad word, like having one wouldn't allow me to have any fun. But since I have finally taken the time to tell my money exactly what to do, I find that I have not only more fun, but more money as well. Definitely a win-win!
I used to be pretty good with money without a written budget. But then my roommate moved out and suddenly everything is twice as expensive. I remember looking at my savings account getting smaller and smaller and thinking, "I don't know what to do." So I moved out of that place, got myself a small, one bedroom apartment. Still was struggling, so that's when I did some serious budgeting. Everything written out and tracked. Suddenly I didn't have panic attacks every time I spent money. Registration notice came in the mail that I needed to renew the tags on my car? No biggie. I've got a "car fund" where I saved a little aside every month to take care of car expenses that might not have accounted for. Phone died? No biggie. Internet bill due? I got it covered.
I can't do the electronic budget without having it on paper too. I write everything on a calendar (due dates, pay days etc) and it just keeps me organized.
Yup same here! I’m an old school paper/calendar type person. If it’s electronic, it’s just not as encouraging to me lol gotta be on paper in front of me
I do mine on an Excel spreadsheet instead. My income can be anywhere from $3-4k per month depending on my overtime so I basically need to do a What-If Analysis for each scenario.

We had 30000 debt from student loans and from my husband not having a job for few months . We paid in 3 years . We did not go for a strict budget . But we did reasonable spending. We would go out for vacation only once a year not to expensive places . If we ate in a expensive restaurant then we would take one month break to go out again to expensive restaurant . Did some couponing and basically did not buy any stuff for 3 years . Things like having loads of clothes shoes and furniture will not help if you r in debt especially. All the free money went to debt payment. I would say don't stop having fun, we would still go out to movies and go out small vacations but don't overdo it when you are in debt . Now we plan to pay off our house in 6-8 years . It is incredible feeling to have to not to owe anything to anyone . It's so much mental peace which I think is what everyone wants in life.

Having an “every dollar” budget has been absolutely transformational for my household. We’re saving money that we had no idea was even there. My wife and I use an app that syncs between our phones. We enter every single dollar we spend in the app so we always know how we’re tracking against our targets. We’re so much more conscious about our spending now.
