i just bought this game a week ago, because of you actually. 27 hours on it already and i think i play it better than i should. I watch your VDOs too much XD. hopefully one day i got a match with versus you
Really making Editor DRN earn his pay with one, absolutely loved the edits on this one. if not the range on the Farseer's, I was thinking a Phoenix pivot could have helped a lot because they never unlocked marksman and far enough back it would been firing all round long racking up some good damage. The visual feast that was last round watching those anti missile tracer rounds go everywhere was just amazing. As always, wishing you the best of luck and all the sledgehammers!
Thanks dude, wait for today's video! Think Editing DRN's out done himself there but we'll see! :D Yeah some more Air earlier could've helped but I worry his Marksmen would just take the chance to knock us out of the sky too easily without more chaff or better chaff clear. Have a great day yourself!
Nice game, I find that the double shot, acid Scorpions paired with radar farseers melts every thinge in the ground and gives a Nice defense against Eire (stole your joke hehehe)
Oooh good call! Always feel like I have to spend 300 on everything of value to get Range on them but Farseer's shared range bonus could be really handy there, thanks for the tip! Always feel free to use any of my jokes, I'm sure I'm not the first person to use that little word play :D
@@rafaellorentz6584 Ah I have a friend who's just been on holiday to Brazil, was telling me how great it was! Hahaha, thanks appreciate it, but thank you for watching and commenting too - really appreciate the support! Enjoying the game a lot right now, it's in a fairly balanced state and I've been having a ton of fun in 2v2s playing with and against a myriad of playstyles that I never run into normally :D
mechabellum would make a great setting for a dystopium anime series. Two friends who maintain a long distant relationship from two different countries. The countries slow start building towards a conflict but in this world they settle their conflict through mechabellum and the battle arena has a immortality field and you re-set between rounds. Obviously the occupiates of each mech feels the death each time and its kinda horrific. Anyways the two friends find themselves in the conflict on oppsing sides. The forfeit of whoever loses doesnt get reset.... meaning ultimately one of the friends must die.
Curious the thought process why in round 3 you picked emp instead of anti missile when you could afford either? Am would offer more temporary and emp didn't actually affect the board.
It's a good point. Guess at the back of my mind I worry that people will just instantly sell out of the their Stormcallers if you take early AM. But that's not necessarily a bad thing for us :D Thanks for pointing it out!
I think you were focussing a lot on getting scorps out (well, as focussed as one can be delaying them) when you really needed to actually have your shots connect, with extended range vulcans being offered on a silver platter (the 50 you saved meant that you could pick the extended rsnge vulcans, unlock it and buy two of them all in ine turn, and next round could go range) since your farseers do enough damage to kill the saber teeth if they get a bit of time (and don't focus on chaff as much) Gg anyways, cuz I would probably have lost anyways especially due to the elite wasp option (i love getting highly leveled wasps with zhe range and elite tech, since they take care of all single target damage from afar) Hope to see more of your gameolay soon!
Yeah - good spot! The Scorpions were the right unit but implemented badly, most of their damage was being soaked by chaff whilst his Sabertooth tanks were getting high quality shots in on our precious Scorpions far too quickly. Once he commited to the AM on the Saberteeth I needed to be looking for either additional chaff myself, or more chaff clear now we couldn't rely on the Stormcallers and Farseers in the early part of the rounds.
Oh I'm so sorry. There's also the "units summoned after the tower exploded aren't debuffed" bug to go alongside it. They're small bugs in the grand scheme of things but it is infuriating when you lose rounds because of them.
Yeah, Saberteeth love hitting single high HP targets where it's big punches can cause all sorts of mischief! Defo needed Range on our carry to match his, and maybe earlier AM as well instead of EMP.
I thought the wraiths were effective, despite my skepticism that they kinda overlap with the farseers. too many problems to solve that round. Melting points might have been the answer but they also were overlapping with the mm. toughie!
Hey Ian! Yeah, not my best game here - left myself far too many problems to solve. Overlooked how potent those Sabertooth tanks with Range were for too long and ignored the damage his Stormcallers were doing to my chaff line at the same time. As the dog said to the cat "Rough!"
my instinct (and I welcome being educated that I'm wrong) is that (circa 17min) you don't want to worry about carry vs carry, so much as what counters sabertooths. There are two parts, the huge damage, and the hp. The hp is nothing unique but needs accounting for. The huge damage needs attention, and picking single units to take them out without sufficient cover is just a death sentence. What's the best at using up sabertooth fire? per unit and per value? Whats the best that isn't erased on this board. Do you have a save file for this? I'd LOVE to test things on the last two rounds. I often find out I'm wrong about everything when I test! which is kind of fun? As ever thanks for the game and commentary! Don't be hard on yourself, you provide a lot. Take care!
I don't think you ever run acid on crawlers. But I'd have loved to try that here just to see how it goes. compare it to loose formation or tunneling, etc. Currious how wasps would have done late. It's good to see your rough game though, it really shows how a long day can slow your mind down a bit. Again I really enjoyed this and appreciate it.
@@philipripper1522 Hey Philip! I don't have the replay saved locally any more but the game has a neat feature of saving Tournament replays for anyone to access. This was the America's Region Cup Week 74, my Game 3 versus 2CHI$ if you want to find it for yourself! Looking forward to your experiments here, from memory (I play the final round again on losses or close wins the day after tourneys) the correct pick was Melting Point with Range and then Loose Formation Crawlers and three more sets at the back, temporary Range at the tower and I think a pair of shields. It's been a bit sorry! The editing process takes me a fair old while.
Tough match, and I feel like even player drn called the critical misplay of gambling for the unit drop scorpions when they could have been bought right then. When you did get them, the saberteeth were already scaling and you opponent could add chaff as needed As far as the sabertooth anti-missile goes, would adding more stormcallers have allowed the combined missiles to oversaturate the AM (to allow the farseer missiles to connect better)? Since stormcallers are cheaper than saberteeth. Not so much a suggestion on this game, just the matchup against the AM, haha
Yeah, was a poor showing here for me - praying your opponent picks the unit you want them to on the free unit cards is the wrong approach for sure. AM can definitely be overwhelmed, people tend to use Launcher Overload on the Stormcallers for it but I'm not a fan of sacrificing their Range advantage so don't run it. To get past the AM normally I rely on Farseers if I've got them because their rate of fire is soo much quicker and their missile travel time is so much shorter, so once you start piercing their defence you really start hitting hard and fast. Beyond that for this game I'm pretty sure I needed to pick either Scorpion or Farseer and commit to using them as my carry, not split my resources and level both, and even then we'd have needed more chaff clear for sure, so lots of room for improvement here.
@@WerdnaTheRed Large volleys can work but it's also the HP value of the missiles and Stormcallers individual missiles have barely any health so AM can pick them off quickly and easily. Other missiles have higher HP values into the AM damage, with Fortress Rocket Punch being the highest HP value missile in the game, making it very hard to stop!
