Reese Wynans really got to shine in this video and showed how he could truly compliment Stevie Ray's music! ❤
His song "Mary had a little lamb" from this same concert (Austin city limits) will blow your mind.
Yes!!
When Stevie says "This goes out to everybody who's suffering in any way" he Really Means it. makes me cry like a baby, every time.
Stevie will always be pure magic
One of a kind , you'll never hear anyone better ! RIP Stevie we miss you !
After Stevies passing everytime i listen to this song i think about if he had not passed the music he would be playing today. The piece shows the jazzier direction he was venturing into and this song is masterful.
One of my favorite cities to visit is Austin, TX. SRV passed away in 1990, but to this day you can find murals of Stevie at venues he use to play at. LEGEND
Much respect to all the respect you've given Stevie over the last couple years.
This was both, his final written composition and last track on his final studio album (In Step) before his passing. It’s also his final performance from the brilliantly produced show called Austin City Limits. Should just review each song from this episode. Audio and video supervisors along with the show’s crew are Top Shelf, as was his entire band. 🍻 Here’s to a great artist and a finer person. God rest his soul…
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 The goatiest goat in all of goatness
Always here for Stevie. Thanks for getting back to him.🎸
Yes....me too....always here for the master!
That guitar is "Lenny" given to him by his wife, Lenora and a few friends that purchased it for him cause, it cost more than he could afford, at the time. It's the gutiar that he plays "Lenny" on, dedicated to his wife.
Beautiful. There's a reason, it all came from within. Just love him so much for who he was and everything he gave. ❤
This is my favorite piece.
I love so much of his music but this one can make me either chill out or cry depending on my mood.
Beautiful song! I listen to this sometimes before I go to bed to relax me and take away all the stress of the day. Thanks for reacted to SRV. It has been awhile. SRV THE Goat!
This song is perfect to put in and listen to when you have had a really bad day sit in a room with headphones on and close your eyes and just let it take your stress away .
- - - - - THIS . . . is the REAL SRV . . . along with "Lenny" and "Little Wing" (live) . . . . . ALWAYS look for Stevie's live videos.
Lenny and Little Wing from El Macombo!! A must!
Pretty sure the name of this particular guitar is “Lenny.” He had Butterscotch, Charlie, Number One, and several others in full rotation along with many more.
Reece Wynans!
While Stevie played Number One/First Wife on many songs, it wasn’t exclusive. If you continue down the rabbit hole, you’ll notice a few guitars. It always sounds like him, though.
Thank you for revisiting SRV❤️. Absolutely no one else speaks to my heart and soul like he does. In my opinion, I would rather watch him than anyone else!!!
This guitar is named Lenny. His former wife, Lenny, and some of his friends threw in to come up with the $350.00 to purchase this guitar from a pawn shop for his birthday. It sold at auction a few years ago for approximately $653,000.00. From what I read, Guitar Center in Austin owns it and prominently displays it in their store❤️❤️❤️
If there is ANY compositions, both lyrical and instrumental, that Stevie Ray covered and/or penned but never got to release .. I wish somebody would make contact with his brother Jimmy and discuss putting together a box set entirely made of unreleased material. Any 'never-seen-before' videos would be awesome also. I'm assuming Jimmy has custody rights to all his/their music.
Anyone who grew up with the Vaughan brothers and still has a relationship w/Jimmy .. I HOPE YOU SEE THIS. Jimmy's 73 and life is ticking by.
Just one of many, many fans! T.Y.
RIP Stevie Ray ... RIP🌹🎸
Oh , he's better than anyone !!
You found it! This piece of music is a real masterpiece and he dedicated it to anyone suffering in any way, that’s because it’s like mercy 🙂↔️ Reese Wynans on keyboards 🔥
Been too long. There is so much great live performances from this beautiful human being!
A Marathon is a Must….Next:
Soundtrack (amateur footage)
Life Without You
GOAT. During your guitar journey, please check out Jeff Healy. Jeff was discovered by Stevie Ray Vaughan in Toronto and went on to have a successful career of his own.
Jeff Healy- As The Years Go Passing By (Stuttgart Jazz Festival)
Check out his song, Tick-Tock. That song actually debuted at his funeral.
Stevie had a style all his own. Another great guitar master who is very much missed. Check out the duo SRV did of Pipeline with Dick Dale. You might want to check out Dick Dale as well who was a left handed upside down guitarist. While you're at it, have a listen to Gary Moore. You will love Parisienne Walkways. 😊
Try "Love struck baby"/"Rude mood", Daytona Beach! It is absolutely classic Stevie Ray Vaughan and amazing as always!
Reese Wynans. Several Months after this was the helicopter crash. RIP 😢
It was very close to a year later.
This is my favorite SRV piece of music
All the great girarist of the 80's played with Stevie Eric Clapton said when they played at festivals no one ever wanted to follow him because who could. Stevie mentors. BB King, Albert King, and all the other great blues players and singers.
I love listening to many different guitarists. David Gilmour is great. Of course, Eric Clapton is legendary. Jimmy Page has always been a favorite of mine. I could mention more, many more. They each bring something unique and special to music.
Stevie Ray Vaughan, however, is my all-time favorite. It's like coming home. No guitarist touches my spirit like he does. I feel every note in my soul. I really can't explain it any other way.
I feel like you should explore more of Billy Joel. Scenes From an Italian Restaurant, Goodnight Saigon, Summer Highland Falls, NY State of Mind, Pressure, and many many more. I do sooooo enjoy your reactions!😊
The 59 Strat was his favorite, but it's not the only one he played. Stevie had 4 or 5 guitars on stage at his live shows.
If Someone accuses SRV of "Only" playing the blues , play "Riviera Paradise " for them to shut them up . The story of the studio take that got on the album is in itself amazing . The band had been working on the song all day & couldn't get it . One take to slow , another too fast etc. The engineer had kept tape rolling through out the session & they try again and this time they are On It ! But the reel of tape was running out & the engineer knew he had the take , but would they finish up before the tape ran out ? He gets drummer Chris Laytons attention finally & signals to him to wrap it up and they do so just in time as the tape ran out right after they concluded that take . Sometimes Luck smiles on you 🙂
A Little something more. - What Clapton thought of SRV's playing during his last few days:
“The worst thing for me was that Stevie Ray had been sober for three years and was at his peak. When he played that night, he had all of us standing mere with our jaws dropped. I mean, Robert Cray and Jimmie Vaughan and Buddy Guy were just watching in awe. There was no one better than him on this planet. Really unbelievable,” Eric Clapton said.
Don’t hesitate to do the same song from different venues because he never played the song the same way. You’ll get a totally different experience. An example would be Tin Pan Alley featuring Johnny Copeland is imo even better than the Tin Pan you reacted to from Capitol Theater.
Also, Mary Had A Little Lamb from this same Austin 89 concert is amazing.
There are still lots of SRV reactions left for you to do!!!
I'm impressed by the technical prowess of a lot of the shredders (Eddie for example) and I enjoy their music. But guitar doesn't get much better than this! It's not about speed; it's all about the feel. Stevie and David Gilmour for me!
Stevie didnt play guitar, he was one with it, it was part of him.
Great Choice! Another excellent suggestion is his version of “Superstition “ (if you do the video version you get the bonus of a very special guest star, who obviously did not mind sharing the song!😄).
#1 wasn't used for everything. Different guitars have different feels and uses for what an artist is trying to evoke. I feel like if Stevie had played a toy guitar, it would've still sounded phenomenal! Reese Wynans was the keyboardists name. I believe he's still around playing with Joe Bonamassa
I saw this Live in KC like 6 weeks before he died in Wisconsin to say I'm emotional is an understatement
Generally SRV live is the way to go, but the studio version of this captured a piece of magic.
Scuttlebuttin, you gotta do Scuttlebuttin.
Yes you left Stevie too soon, so now you have to react to ...Ain't Gon Give Up On Love and Change It both live at The Capitol Theatre please lol!💞✌️
Great reaction!!! Psalm 138:7
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.
This is just one song in his performance. He has probably changed guitars already for some reason(broken string, needing retuned, this song needs a slightly different sound).
The Album Version is Just as Good, If not Better.
Time for Lenny from Tokyo
I bet the one is worth a lot of money
Reese Wynans
I think he broke a string earlier in that show
SRV is a phenomenal guitar player/singer but have you heard Gary Moore? He is the true GOAT. I've been a musician since 1963 and have heard many of the greats live including Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Jeff Beck and many more. IMHO - Gary Moore is the undisputed G.O.A.T. The greatest that ever lived. Here's the proof - something that I think is the greatest recorded guitar performance ever recorded. "THE MESSIAH WILL COME AGAIN" Here's a link for you to check out - ruclips.net/video/7k07j7LcLqw/видео.html
Listen to Lenny, and Little Wing
He is really a better guitarist in my opinion, name them all and he is still the best.
You are going to get dizzy shaking your head.
if not o well
Reese Wynan's
i have some jams you may be suprsed im 63 and i have a lot
SRV is great of course, but Rory Gallagher or Hendrix would actually be the GOAT
