Yes. Did he mention they found millions of coins at the bottom?
What year was this all in again
Felt like he dragged an essay
@@davepoole9520 I heard there were millions of coins at the bottom that they found.
As a falls resident, i can assure you people going over the falls is nothing new.
probably happens once a month.
No shit,I didnt think that many die there.all the time to.

By removing the coins from Niagra Falls, the workers inadvertently reversed thousands of wishes
😆😆
Including mine
Oh no!!!!
They owe me a wish too
If you’re saying they took your wish your over 63 according to my last two brain cells
Coins and only two dead bodies? I am underwhelmed.
Over 5000 people were recorded to have went over since the 1800s. Recovery efforts had been good but yeah, you would expect more people to have gone over unnoticed -- maybe the rest flowed further where the bodies would still be submerged. 🤷🏾♂️
Only 16 of that 5000 survived. Quite a lot perished here.
Imagine Canada's side
*that much water falling/pounding over time would leave very little if anything behind that was organic*
@@scottmantooth8785 the American side of Niagara falls (and bridal veil falls) are good for pounding and smashing,
the Canadian horseshoe falls has a violent cycling plunge pool. Where you are likely to survive the fall but you become trapped in the whirling cycle.
Most bodies are found fully intact, floating down the river. indicating they jumped in on the Canadian side.
I'd love to have individually investigated all the millions of coins there. I bet there's some majorly rare ones.
You guys should do an episode on the Columbia Bar at the mouth of the Columbia River. That thing has been a trap for a long time since the waters are so unpredictable and based off what I've heard the sand bar changes over time due to the unpredictable flow of the river. It's so treacherous there's only around 16 pilots licensed to lease their services crossing it. The water around it is so dangerous they even call it "the graveyard of the pacific" and the bottom is littered with shipwrecks dating back centuries, supposedly the water is so rough they dont do dives or salvage around i either.
Thanks for the reference, it lead me to some interesting articles.

I put my mom's ashes in Niagara Falls in August of 2017. She wasn't able to get there in life, so I gave her a nice send off.
That was an awesome send off, she didn't need a barrel😁
@@KilledByThatTrain I poured the ashes directly into the water upstream from the falls.
@@jerry121576 That is honestly a really nice way to go. Reminds me of the movie Up
@@jerry121576 It's nice but completely illegal. I'm against this law but i wanted to make sure you don't get in trouble in the future
I definitely won't try it a second time with anyone else.
Most of the coins originating from the USA and Canada make logical sense, given where the waterfall is located.
U wanna swim down and get them ? You can easily be a millionaire 😂😂
I've been to Niagara Falls in 2012, it truly was spectacular and I could see how powerful they are, too!
how powerful are they? I'm from europe, and I do not plan to ever visit north america in my lifetime, hence the question.
@@the_rover1 powerful enough to destroy any boat or person that goes over it. The falls has had very few survivors.
@@niagarawarrior9623 Fun (?) fact. Although there have been some survivors going over Horseshoe Falls no one has ever survived going over American Falls.

All the lakes in the US are dangerously low. They've revealed dead bodies, boats, cars, even a plane in one report. I'm almost afraid of what will be revealed at the bottom of Niagara.
The Niagara River has all kinds of stuff at the bottom of it, an old power plant, a railroad, the old honeymoon bridge, elevator shafts, a helicopter, an F-100 Super Sabre Jet, a the scow is still partially intact above the falls, the old sunbeam subchaser also sunk upriver of the Horseshoe falls.
@@Cadmann778 They should do an episode on the Columbia Bar at the mouth of the Columbia River. More interesting stuff down there than what they mentioned in the video even if the area isn't as fun to look at.
Hundreds of body's of people who committed suicide after blowing their life savings at the casino.
All the lakes in the west are low... You know the man made lakes in the middle of a dessert. The great lakes by the Niagra are doing just fine, and in fact in some areas are actually higher than normal.
There are 3 casino's, but yes, they do reduce a lot of people to jumping.
It seems like they are repeating themselves a lot in this video, they mentioned millions of coins like 3 times
Interesting video tho
Yup
I noticed the same thing with “in 1969” and other phrases.
I think it was an interesting video, but at the same time it was pretty underwhelming for what I expected, so not surprised they had to stretch it by any means necessary.
Maybe that's because they found 3 million coins?
3 million coins is amazing.. How many coins would be left in the water after all ? 😂😂
How funny that I just got back from a trip to Niagara Falls yesterday and then this video goes live today lol
Convince I think not.
You think they found who asked down there?
That man that fell, I feel so bad for them and their family.
Was honestly more curious as to the engineering feat that goes into draining it all.
Sometime during the late 50s, 1958 I believe, there was a young boy who went over the falls and survived. He was wearing a life vest and weighed 55 lbs. It made national news. I remembered it because at the time i weighed the same. His sister and her boyfriend died.
You do not have a slight chance to survive unless you’re prepared when you go into the falls 🫠🫠
I’m 20 minutes out from Niagara Falls. Earlier this year a woman drove her car into the Niagara River. Sadly passed away I’m not sure if the car was ever recovered. Check it out on here.
I also live in the area(Canadian side) after they recovered the remains of that woman they were unable to do anything about the car and over the course of a few days it was eventually swept over the edge and probably still remains as a twisted heap of metal in the rocks below
I live in Niagara County and heard about the woman’s car. The car was never recovered it went over the falls. I think the woman was already pronounced dead.

I just visited Niagara Falls. It's truly beautiful and breath taking
Love the animations but can't you show the actual photos from the 1969 dewatering

We are blessed to have this channel!
When is this supposed to happen exactly again thank you for the content the infograph show it's good to learn new things i appreciate it
Same here I would love to see the rivers empty and the other river overflowing, couldn’t find anything online on when they will do it next
Same i looked too and couldn't find it
ive been to the falls a few times, once when it froze for the first time in 100 years back in 2014 i think?.. and again in 2020. even with all the restrictions i seen the most around the area that time. we did the water rapids walk and that was just insane. if anyone ever goes dont miss out on the rapids its mind blowing. or the walk behind the falls that was cool. i seen something about the whirlpool but im scared shitless being around water, yet being suspended above a giant whirl pool so we didnt do that. but if your into it check that out for me lol
The falls does not completely freeze, by the way. It freezes OVERTOP and makes it LOOK like the water is frozen! The water still flows underneath. It's still a beautiful sight to see!
Fantastic video once again
Great vid!
Thanks for the upload during my September 2022 birthday month!
"MILLIONS of coins?" Even though most Infographics videos are riddled with inaccuracies, they are quite informative at least in regard to the basics, and they are also quite entertaining.
First time I have heard of them draining Niagara falls
Great production as usual IGS
I wonder how many bottles of Jack Daniels they found 🤔?
Just a 7:40 minutes video...wow. shortest video of infographics show ever...👍👍👍
The writers really got lazy with this one, Idk how many times I could hear "they found coins" before I actually punch my screen
A lot or Italians are gonna be worried if they find more skeletons.
@Max Power The Mafia. La Cosa Nostra. That is not racist. It is a stereotype among Italians, and Sicilians.
@Max Power Again, not racist. He was being funny.
@Max Power you must be fun at parties
4:05 i wouldve been mad asf😭 all that time hanging on and i still die💀😩
They shouldve left the coins in there, now some peoples wishes might not come true🤦🏾♀️
Thanks for the cartoon. It's a shame film cameras had not been invented yet, in 1969...
I’ve been to the falls both the American and Canadian sides. It is an awesome sight.
Awesome video Infographics team! I visited it once and I saw lights behind the walls, so that could be something?
It’s a projector

Could have mentioned Captain Matthew Webb. He was the first person to swim the English Channel but came a cropper when he tried going over Niagara Falls in a barrel.
Great video.
So, when is this draining scheduled to take place?
I had to read the story about Any Taylor and here barrel over the falls. The barrel was made of thicker and tougher wood I believe. Which is a good reason why she survived.
I feel sorry for her. 😔
Give me back 5 minutes of my life. It really feels like you're trying really hard to stretch the length of that video by repeating the same info over and over again.
Aw poor baby
Humans can never leave anything alone
I wish I could be there to pick up all the 90% silver coins.
I think you forgot to mention all the coins they found in 1969.
Millions of coins, millions.😂
I had to remodel an old Roses store here in an older part of Greensboro NC and under the checkout register we found dozens of dollars worth of old coins.
Does anyone know when exactly it will be drained again?
It is awesome to watch infographics show on youtube I like what would happen if you didn't brush you're teeth for 1 week
What year did this happen?
"An estimated 5,000 bodies were found at the foot of the falls between 1850 and 2011. On average, between 20 and 30 people die going over the falls each year. The majority of deaths are suicides, and most take place from the Canadian Horseshoe Falls."
I feel sorry for the woman who tries to be rich from falling through the falls with a barrel.
She should have gotten her barrel endorsed by big corporations like they do in NASCAR.

Annie sending a cat over the falls first is too much 😂
one guy went over in a barrel with his pet turtle, the turtle survived but he didnt lol
My good old home town
I'm putting my money on Jimmy Hoffa finally being found 🤣🤣
I wonder if they have his dental record.
Went to Niagra Falls when I was 5 in 85'. I vividly remember a man waving to me with his body halfway over the railing. Without warning, he tumbled over the rail and went over head first. I can still remember his legs and feet going over the rails. I tugged on my mom screaming that somebody fell into the falls. My family laughed and didnt take me seriously. This was on the Canadian side.
Oh my god i’m so sorry
Wait, so annie threw a cat in Niagara Falls?
Right? In a way I'm glad she did not get the fame she had expected. Poor cat. Sad story of total desperation though.
It was a scene to be seen: how the cat was fighting nor to get into the barrel. I think Annie was thoroughly scratched.
nice content!
I wonder if they could identify the skeletal remains via DNA.
They’d have to have something to compare it to for that to happen. Basically no chance they’re going to check every missing persons case to compare so inevitably we’ll never know
A documentary about the Falls explains that was illegal to recapture escaped enslaved people once they'd made it to Canada. So desperate escapees had no choice but to attempt to find the lowest point to cross the Niagara River into Canada, usually under the cover of darkness. There are a even few successful documented cases! But most could not access a boat or their rafts crashed in the rapids hidden further downriver. Maybe some people even met their death going over the falls...😢
Perhaps their remains are still there.
never knew they did this so i had to do some research after the video. neat!
I really hope the lady who put her cat in a barrel on Niagra Falls had her cat taken away from her. She doesn't deserve a pet
Enjoyable content
you need to tell about the horrifying things scientists have hidden in niagra falls
i wonder how old the skeletons were..it seems like in such an active environment as under a waterfall organic matter wouldn't last long...
[so..if one wants something to sit at the bottom of the falls and never be found it should be on the canadian side.. :-)]
*you would think so*
i guess it depends on whether a body gets wedged in the rocks or not
A kid almost died too but thanks to Superman who was able to save him.
I always thought the New Zealander Bobby Leach was the first to go over Niagara Falls...
A little disappointed but still proud as our country has achieved many notable firsts! I would feel proud of my fellow woman Annie but she chucked her cat over first! Pretty cool that a woman was the first to attempt going over in a barrel though.
The Englishman was the second after American Annie Edson Taylor.
DNA testing could be done on the skeletons found in 1969, to see if they can find relatives that way.
Thousands of gallons of water a second is an understatement.. there's more than 3000 tons of water a second, more than 75,000 gal a second over the American and bridal veil falls alone and 681,000 gal a second over the horseshoe falls
during the day 50% of the water is diverted to generate electricity. at night it's 80% .this has slowed down the erosion as well
@@ronblack7870 that's still 10s to 100s of thousands
And millions of coins.😂
The cat jumping out of the barrel made me laugh.
You're understating by saying there were only two remains recovered, there were a myriad of them recovered because the Iroquois civilization would use Niagara Falls to commit human sacrifice every year
Nice video
any mention of coins? I might have missed that part....
Why would Scientists be horrified by coins?
@@ss_whole They realised there were more coins than the scientists had ever received in grants for research.
Fun fact: goat island was a great place to play Pokémon go
In short they found human skeleton and coins. ✨
Maybe this time, they will find Jimmy Buffett's lost shaker of salt
Nah that was lost in key west Florida, fun fact the song is him complaining about key west becoming crowded with tourists and going from a sleepy island town to the party tourist spot it is today
This gives me an idea to drain parts of the ocean if ever need be
The bone found was Clatk Kent fell when Lois Lane challenged him if he was Superman
The last time I use to visit Niagara Falls was in 2011 and yes I use to enjoy the sights and use to take pictures with my old girlfriend but at the same time I was always cautious especially since not only am I afraid of heights but also do to the facts of the fear of falling.
I bet there will be so much more garbage when they drain it now
My Dad remembered this he was 11
If your from Niagara falls, you wouldn't be shocked dead bodies were found
If you guys haven’t gone to Niagara Falls please do, is the most amazing yet frightening thing in the world. Horse shoe falls on the American side seem so powerful that it feels illegal to be so close to it.
Canadian side!!!!
I was there when they dewatered Niagara Falls in 2022. It was awesome!
almost 8 minutes for something that could have been said in 30 seconds.
Wouldn't sea level rise affect the enormous amount of water diverted.. now ?
Infographics... you were doing so well
Ah yes the answer to inflation. Drain water falls and Wishing wells for their coins.
Usually your shows are concise informative and entertaining. You've lost two of these three things when you keep repeating the same facts over and over again.
I live here like 3 min away this should be interesting
I'm in a hotel over looking the falls right now!!! 👍
When will Niagara Falls be dewatered next time?
out of the 9 years of me being on youtuvbe this is the first time im the first comment i feel so happy
Lol u werent. U are slow.

Ok. So this whole video Titled thing found in drained Niagara falls. And the whole video u say. Coins and 2 skeletons. Which took 30s to say. Then talked about a bunch of other stuff and then just repeated coins and 2 skeletons for another 30s......
Seems you didnt have enough information for u to make a full video on, but u did it anyway. Good for you. U did it.
Last summer a woman’s car was pulled into the falls and was stuck for hours with her inside it. They said it was attempted suicide cause how does a car just suddenly end up in the falls in it’s own unless she drove into the falls.
So coins and bodies. How horrifying.....
Honestly to me the fact they only found 2 bodies was surprising. I would have thought they would have found many, lol.
That female skeleton they found after they drained the falls was eventually identified as Jane Doe, she had a husband named John who went missing after hiking in the Sahara desert.
Im from St Catharines, a 10 minute drive away. Ive been there so many times, it got boring lol
