    It appears that staff and/or guards making friends with inmates must be one of the greatest weaknesses of a prison, even a very secure one.

      Yep, usually the human element is the weakest point - in any type of security

    • @LetsPlayBojangles
      @LetsPlayBojangles Год назад +60

      100% The most secure systems involve rotating groups of guards to different parts of the prison on a daily basis to keep attachments from forming. Also, having someone not reporting to the prison like a state or federal employee audit footage at random and have the guards understand this is happening to keep the idea out of their head. Still not 100% infallible but it makes escape exponentially harder if you can't form a bond with a guard, or even know the next time you will see them.

    My favorite was one guy walked right out the front door. Staff would flip their id badge so that prisoners couldn’t see their info. Medical staff wore green scrubs. This dude dyed his white prison wear using green highlighters, flipped his inmate id and walked right out the front door.

      Many are too smart to escape. They know they have nowhere to go. No respurces to live on. Being homeless on the streets constantly looking over your back or live life inside with food, shelter, in relative comfort.

      In Germany it is not technically illegal to escape for this reason. However most of the things you would have to do to escape still is.

    37:34 State Police carry AR 15s which I assumed this was as well, but it turns out USBP does indeed issue fully auto suppressed M4s in the United States.
    If anyone is wondering, the only differences are the typical SBR nature of the M4 (which you can do with an AR in many states) and the Fire Control Group. In short there's one more part in an auto that's not there in an AR 15. AR 15 bolts themselves are full auto compatible, because it doesn't make a difference without that auto sear (and the ability to select it).

    When this escape happened, Tim Robbins who starred in the Shawshank Redemption was interviewd on the matter. He pointed out that that in the movie the viewer feels that Andy is innocent, but in this real case the escapees are dangerous criminals, so one shouldn't root for them.

    Happened to me one time. I was sent to prison by a military court for a crime I didn't commit. I promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, I survive as soldier of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find me, maybe you can hire . . . the B-team.
