Bruh, you are changing the sports analysis and basketball podcast game and I'm here for it.
Hi JJ, big fan here. There were rumors of you becoming a head coach. What happened?
Evan and my Cousin Nick have been dating for 2 years..
Z z4fc,offers x xx$!rz😂w if z d@BCX199
The basketball you see now was created by 2013- 2014 spurs and mastered by golden state
"You held em to the 40 point triple double?! My Gosh bro, lets GET it!" lmaooooo ET is hell
Man is a menace
LOOOOOOOL
😂😂😂
Lmao, that would have been insanely if they would had given him the MVP LOL.
Only if Irving n Love were not Injured😢
💀💀💀
As a long time Heat fan. I have been arguing this point with people for years. Now we can hear it from people who actually played against the Heat. Who saw it
Same man
Sameeeeee
Same here.
Yea, the heat really revolutionized nba offense against the spurs in the finals 😂😂
Suns dantoni
Held him to that 40-point triple double is crazy 😂
2:04🤣🤣🤣legit had me breathing heavy after
Bron shot 39% in that series
Below 40 percent shooting all those games is even crazier. Especially for a guy who’s post ability is all he has as a scorer and overhyped. 😂🤦🏾 Not to mention the mf is 6’9 260 playing against LEGIT point guards much smaller and he still shoots a shitty percentage.
@@GloryBoa cavs shot 38% and warriors shot 43%, 39% isnt as bad as it sounds
I cracked up my gosshhhh let's get it
I said this during the time and people ignored me. The key was bosh. He was able to shoot from deep and long mid range on offense, but play big enough on defense that you wouldn’t bat an eye at him playing the 5.
He got cooked alot on defense by other centers though 🤷🏿♂️
Yea let’s not revise history. Miami defense was great cus of the perimeter defense and versatility. Bosh was getting cooked by Hibbert in the paint
The amount of undeserving hate bosh got during those times was crazy. Definitely a pattern between lebron and pf hate whatever team he was on lol.
@@SafarizonedI think it’s because the power forwards role is generally diminished when Lebron is on the floor, especially when he was more of an inside out player like he was before. Also in regards to Kevin and Bosh they went from #1 to #3 option on those Lebron Teams. Made them look crazy
@@cane2486 The defense was built to accommodate that weakness, because honestly only Hibbert was a true threat there and the era of the dominant big was over. Bosh just had to manage against the smaller positions (so many clutch blocks against smaller dudes) and Lebron was athletic enough to help down low against bigger offensive threats.
Been trying to tell people this for years. We had bosh at the 5 and Shane battier at the 4. The warriors made small ball popular but I think the heat kinda started it
No they didn’t. Stop it.
Not even close, brother. Don Nelson started it with the Warriors in the early '90s. It was called Nellie Ball then. That's why Webber requested a trade within two seasons. He hated playing center. Nelson did it again with the Warriors in 2007 - even ran Harrington at center at times.
The heat def started it
To expand upon this, Mike D's 7 seconds or less Suns frequently ran small ball lineups, especially the season Amare got hurt, and Pop and Rivers moved Garnett and Duncan to center often and went small with Pierce and Diaw at PF, respectively.
The 2006 Suns with Diaw and Tim thomas at center as well as the 2007 Warriors would like a word
I remember seeing Bosh hit those 3 point shots in the NBA Finals vs OKC/Spurs. That HEAT offense was terrific
All of the NBA players who went pro in the 2003 NBA Draft, such as Carmelo, Wade, and Bosh, have now retired except for LeBron, but it's amazing that LeBron is still active today.
Crazy how well he’s looked after himself and how lucky he got with injuries the first 10-15 years of his career aswell
"active" is an understatement. He is playing at an All-NBA/MVP level by normal standards. All that while he is the only player not only from his 2003 class, but the 2004 class as well. Only person from the 2005 class is CP3 who is a role player now, and only people from the 2006 class are PJ and Lowry, who are less than role-players now.
He has a drive to stay in shape and work on his game that Jordan and Shaq etc just didnt have. They both got fat and out of shape by the end (Shaq started that much earlier than the end though with all the mcdonalds XD). Probably similar to Kobe in dedication to the craft, just with a different focus.
He is trying to break Vince Carter's 22nd season playing record
@@PygmaAprilmvp level is max bron is great but they haven’t been winning consistently and the age match’s
LeBron with a stretch big and all shooters is a crazy combo. I remember the Heat's small ball of Chalmers, Allen, Battier, LBJ and Bosh. That was a crazy combo. I always wondered how LeBron might have fared if he played at the 5 during his Miami days.
Bron cant play center
@@greenmatrix30seven LeBron can and has played center for a season.
How come it wasn’t Wade-Allen- Battier- LBJ- Bosh
@@diegovidal2214 It was at times.
@@diegovidal2214they played that in 13, it didnt play much but it had some crazy advanced metrics
LeBron definitely should have been the first guy since Jerry West to win FMVP off the losing team in 2015. He averaged 35.8/13.3/8.8. He single-handedly won 2 games against a 67-win team (which at the time was tied for the 6th best record in NBA history). Lebron's best teammates were Matthew Dellavedova, who averaged 4.8ppg that year, Timofey Mozgov, who averaged 9.7ppg and J.R. Smith, who was good for a whopping 12.1 that year.
That series LeBron was by FAR the best player, but the next 5 (Steph, Klay, Dray, Iggy, and Harrison Barnes) were all on the Warriors.
He rejected the award. He knew that it wouldn't get the same respect as Jerry West, because he's LeBron.
He also shot 39% from the field
@NewWorldDreams47 this is the stupidest nut riding comment I ever heard
@@NewWorldDreams47stop lying bron didn't reject anything
@@errrjuny no one is lying lol. LeBron even said it himself before they lost to GSW in 2015 when it was first brought up that he was eligible for the award. It's easy to look up dumbass 🙄
I love the Dwade shout out him off the pick and roll is nasty
He’s 100% right, Bron was the precursor to the modern nba.
Honestly, can you even be surprised by this? History shows that the best methods to win get adopted, this guy has made more playoff runs than anybody, of course other teams saw what he did and adopted it to their style. I always said Draymond Green is a Lebron-lite, lol, he doesn’t have the same amount of gravity and offensive force but the positioning is all there. Warriors are just a team focused on the shooting prowess of curry and thompson so you don’t see it right away but it’s all there.
Vs trash east teams lol
Did it against the greatest team ever assembled as well
@@diegochavez6203lol y’all never stop hating
@@FireAngelChrisdont mind the kid.
He's just upset that Bron gets ranked above kobe all the time.
All of kobe's rings are against the "trash east" so according to him, they dont count 💀
@@ultimateyagerman 🤣🤣🤣
It happened when Bosh went down in the 2012 ECSF against Indiana. They had to put Bron at the 4 for that 5-8 game stretch against Indiana and Boston.
Listening to them, I had no idea basketball could be so complicated. Would love to hear more about his stuff and get to know and love the game even more.
Right!! I lowkey need a translation for a lot of this! Basketball is such a complex game and I hope to learn a lot more as well
Held Bron to 40 point triple dub. MVP caliber defense. 😂
Iggy held lebron to 33% FG , you can attribute that to the rest of the defenders .
@@g4lsupreme542cope
39% FG though
Bron shot 39% in that series and shot even worse when guarded by iggy
That team had Shane Battier, LeBron James, and Dwyane wade at its defensive peak, probably the three best perimeter defenders at the time ('Rio and CB were no slouch either when it comes to perimeter defense). I've never seen a team just turn it on and clamp down on teams defensively when they needed to.
the 96 bulls were the same way and could also do the same with Harper, Jordan and Pippen on the perimeter Rodman and longley would give you fits too
Bron, yes. He was a menace. Should’ve won DPOY over Gasol in 12. Wade’s best year was 11. Was never the same after that. He was nice in 12 and was good in 13. Never stood a chance in 14. Battier was quite old when he came to the Heat but still a plus defender.
@@fanatical56 People don’t understand how mad I get thinking about Marc Gasol winning DPOY over Bron that year. Like how did a person win DPOY on the defensive second team. So he wasn’t even the best defensive big but won and then he had two teammates that made all defensive team. Allen (first team) and Conley (second team) so now you could argue if he was even the best defender on the team.
You never saw (not seen, BTW) a team turn it up on D then clamp down? The overrated team (someone just broke it down accurately how Wade & Bron didn’t play GREAT D during their tenure outside of one year, & Battier didn’t lock down any greats) you just named, DID see such a team- the Spurs. Against the Heat. You only watched… NONE of their matchups? Also, we’ve seen the Bulls do it. Many times. We know of at least SIX times 🏆 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆We also saw the Spurs many years, more often than not. Shaq and Kobe Lakers, frequently. KG’s Celtics, frequently. And others. Watch basketball BEFORE commenting.
Yeah like the Mavs
D.Wade was so damn quick n fast that first step was explosive as hell fr fr
Man i love hearing these type conversations as a real basketball head.
Watching these three made me realize how great NBA was, now we only have a few left on their era. Fan or a hater we gotta appreciate them (Lebron, Curry etc.) while they still dancin. ❤❤
Nba is more talented and competitive now than ever before
Evan Turner is the funniest dude in the NBA circle
Jeff tague is up there
Finally someone is bringing this up Golden State was Miami 2.0 at one point the heat had a lineup of Bron, Bosh, Chalmers, Battier, and Miller they would play them all on the court at once at xertain times of the game, and that year all 5 of these players were shooting 40% or better from 3
Miami never played fast like golden state if anything golden state is a variation of DAntonis Suns
The development of Dwight's post game is one of the great disappointments in nba history. And Wade is not a great three point shooter but you don't want his mid range shooting to go off cause then its goodnight😴
Wade hit 3’s in bulk when it mattered most
2013 Finals game 7 was an example of Dwyane wade having a good night
dwight just wasn’t coordinated enough to have a reliable post game. he tried years to develop it just wasn’t fluid enough in games to be effective consistently. what fans gotta realize is no superstar is flawless. dwight was dominant at everything else he tried other than post moves. kobe another example great defender but was terrible off ball and coming off screens reasons why rip hamilton and ray allen gave him fits in those 04’ & 08’ finals
@@hooligan5381yup Dwight is a freak of nature physically but lacked in skillset . Bron’s offensive bag isn’t as fluid as guys like Kobe and Melo either but his IQ and athleticism is so dominant that the flaws don’t matter too much
@@michaelf6205 exactly, you get it every superstar has a flaws it’s about how they maximize they’re strength
I got to appreciate when my miami gets some kind of recognition, cuz it’s so rare to see moments like this.
THANK YOU IGGY!!!! Ive been saying for YEEEAARSSs that the miami heat invented small ball!!! Erik Spo went to oregon and watched the ducks and was like i need to run this type of offense in the NBA
This is such basketball talk. freaking love this
Evan turner was funny af in this interview
such high level conversation...I love it
I used to hate the heat and I think that's ok as long as you don't take i over board or personal but looking back on it they were unstoppable for 3 straight years
Until they got stopped in the finals by the Mavs and Spurs 🤔 🤷🏾♂️
@JohnnytNaturalSpurs were just the better team. 4 hall of famers, and one of the all-time deepest benches. It’s also just plainly untrue that the heat didn’t play physical, they were extremely physical, I have that finals series on dvd and watch it back all the time.
@JohnnytNatural heat was also dealing with Injuries..and pop kinda made sure only bron scored
2012 was their best year from regular season to playoffs. They were great for most of that run. 2013 regular season was their best regular season ever but wade fell off a cliff in the playoffs.
I loved them and watched every heat game as a kid but looking back on it they underachieved
I've been saying this since 2014. LBJ shifting to the 4 in 2012 changed everything to small ball. If you check basketball-reference, LBJ played the 4 from 80-84% in those years, and didn't go back to the 3 until playing with Tristan and Frye in Cleveland.
Brah I thought evan turner was lil yachty till I looked at the screen
I agree. Heat big three were the one of the first teams which revolutionized the small ball
I've been saying this for years, when Bron and Battier (especially) started playing the 4 it changed the spacing on the floor. Bron and Dwayne were bad 3 point shooters at the time, so they were not even shooting threes (like Ben lol) until the third year, and Ray was there.
overall they were bad about league average or a little bit below but bron shot 50,40,75 in ‘12-‘13 which is the same year he should’ve won dpoy over marc gasol
Lol Evan turner funny
They honestly were the first 3 super star team made while the players were still young. Every other team either got those stars when they were young through draft or they got them when they were past their prime. Ppl don’t say that they did basically have a super teams. Bron had Mike shane charmers for 3 points. Dwade was a crazy slasher. Bosh giving you 3s and lobs. Those teams were crazy.
what about Bird-McHale-Parish? Parish was the oldest to join Celtics, but he was 28.
bosh wasn’t in his prime and wade was just exiting his prime what are you talking about bron was the youngest bosh was 29 and not playing like his real prime self on the raptors
don’t get me wrong bosh and wade were still good fs but people act like bron played wit them during there best years when it was really there declining years dwade was around 30-31 and facing injuries he wasn’t the same as 06 wade
You know that dwade already had knee surgery then.
@@loristnorton3723 idc when he got knee surgery regardless he wasn’t the same after still a good player but definitely not in his prime
man i love watching these
This is why traditional sports media is cooked. This is so much more interesting, informative and entertaining than Skip and Stephen A. screaming about "clutch genes" and who Kevin Durant's agent had dinner with.
Nope. This is great for true sports junkies but tv media is for casual viewers and women. This wouldn't keep the attention of the masses and would be boring to many.
@@187Kainonope? Ur literally engaging in new form media and insisting that the old is relevant. Establishment mouthpieces will always exist yes, but that’s just so they can shape narratives. Old media is cooked. Just accept it Luddite. It’s a competitive world and Stephen a is being outcompeted.
Finally someone who gives credit where it’s due thanks Iggy.
Yup. Held Lebron to 39% FG in the Finals
Always down to hear a Wade story.
Great pocket of a segment
Dwade wasnt a shooter!? Midrange he was THE SHOOTER!!!
ahaha that's what I'm saying. He can shoot but he just didn't do that much because of the set plays. He was the best Mid range player next to Kobe in those years.
D wade is my basketball hero, im glad you gave him recognition
yep. Was very effective in the finals against okc. that Chalmers, Wade, Battier, Bron, Bosh was deadly to the thunder. Then against SA in the 4th when it was Chalmers, Allen, Mike Miller, Bron and Bird.
fascinating bringing up how dwade/lebron would be a catch and go guy on the wing. I can’t ever recall seeing that as the norm before, usually that wing was always spotting up to catch and shoot, not have you on your heels attacking a close out or even set defense so quick/cutting off that. Not everyone can obviously replicate that but it made slashing wings seem pairable
LOOOOOOVED that shot by turner. "U held him to that 40 pts tripple double." Even Iggy believes he got Lebron and deserved to be MVP. My dude, Lebron was the best on the floor every night. Iggy wasn't even 3rd best on his own team
Don Nelson and mike d'antoni revolutionized small ball by using nowitzki and stoudemire at the 5. Dallas only did it in stretches but phoenix was fully committed. I think nelson even used small ball in the run tmc era.
Glad to see dwade get his flowers . Dwade was nasty 🔥
Shane Battier at the 4 changed the league real quietly
6:04 Is this Iggy announcing his retirement? I don't think it is official but it sounds set in stone.
Man, atleast nba players giving Wade flowers. Love to hear that.
The one time it did break the small ball mold was the 2020 Lakers. Lebron at PG, with KCP and DannyGreen/Caruso at the 2 and 3, with AD at the 4 and Javale at the 5.
I replicate how Dwade run the pick nd roll on 2k and they can’t stop it
ET with the Lil’ Yahgty voice 😂
Finally recognized! The first to ask their center to consistently play like a wing and shoot 3s
Thank you _ please consider talking about the goodbye Steve Nash winning streak Brooklyn did last year. Was weird. Maybe the longest streak
1:52 damn shame, but he's right. Also, Bosh at the 5 and Bron put teams in hell.
To be fair Lebron’s Cleveland team with Kyrie and KLove was solid. Bunch of shooters that could get it off in iso and catch. Sadly Kyrie was injured a lot and Klove too.
I just realized Evan Turner got a voice like Lil yachty
Iggy spot on. If I recall, heat are the only team to ever win title with negative rebounding margins. They really were small ball. And all there pace came from transitions on turnovers. They did play slower besides that
Apparently those mid 2000’s Suns teams don’t exist lol hell even the Webber warriors did it
JJ actually said it was Phoenix first 💜
Phoenix - Orlando - GSW - Houston
Then Iggy said Miami.
Open ur ears
@@ibrahimtall6209 yes I did miss it but to say Suns with Nash weren’t the ones by far is crazy
“Child’s play” lmaoo
This isn't true. The Suns with D'Antoni really started the small ball style.
The 7 Seconds or Less Suns LITERALLY Revolutionized NBA offenses but no one wants to talk about that….. this isn’t an opinion they LITERALLY got the nba to change the ACTUAL rules ! Go look it up!! Nash, Amare, Joe Johnson, Matrix, QRich, Diaw, Barbosa, Bell…. Glad JJ said it “it was phoenix first”’
It was Nelson's Warriors in the '90s before that even. Small ball has been a thing for decades. The Heat just made it popular again.
They did on offense but Miami changed the game on both ends cause they switched and crowded passing lanes to get in transition
This is true, people try to give Dallas all the credit for that just because they won it all with that style, but the Suns were first
History books are written by the winners.
Everybody talks about the 7 seconds or less Suns. Nash won two mvps because of it, they wrote a book about the team and Dantoni kept getting jobs because of that run. For a decade nobody would shut up about them
Iggy was right about that Bosh thing. They were the first one's I've seen do it well.
This is probably why they push so hard for AD to play that spot but he can't seem to understand that he would be the best version of the Bosh/Love stretch 5 ever and with his defense he could be an all time great.
This what I've been saying maaan. Its not the Warriors that started the small ball. It was the Suns with Nash/Amare era. Then Miami Bron era because they would play Bosh at Center, Bron at 4 and the rest are guards / shooters.
High level basketball talk. You can’t get this on espn
because they are legit basketball players not those wannabe
1:48 They should change their name to the "Miami Culture", it's all people say lmao
That’s how real it is 😂
Bosh pulling Hibbert to the perimeter in those Pacers series are why we won those years. Without small ball and floor spacing the Lebron era Heat are not the same.
Even though they were small ball lineups, but they were still playing like they had a big in the middle with Bosh sometimes stretching out. And then you would see Lebron with the rock and with shooters out lineups.
That small ball lineup I use on 2k with the heat. Hard to beat me with that
It went back 2020 that lakers team was a big team. Avery, KCP, Lebron, AD, Javale/Dwight
Yo Evan Turner in College was crazy
Bron and Wade surrounded by shooters wow what a concept
Does anybody watch the NBA? Haven’t watched a full game in over 15 years….don’t miss it a bit.
I don’t think the warriors beat Lebron if he runs it back wit the Heat in 2015
I’d like to see that matchup
The Heat were basically just as injured that season as the Cavs were by the time the finals rolled around, though. Bosh retired after that year, Wade couldn't stay on the court, and the Heat missed the playoffs.
The 2013 or 2012 Heat would have a great shot but they was injured in the 2014 playoffs and that wasn’t changing.
Wade knee was done it was a wrap. bosh heart 2
Bron would definitely won more rings today if he stayed on the heat. People forgot that dwade was way better in 2015 and 2016 than in 2013 and 2014. Pau Gasol would also sign with Miami if lebron stayed along with deng (which he did). But him winning in Cleveland is better for his legacy.
this actually was not entirely their fault, they were basically black listed from trading or signing a true center. They would try and try and but they could not land a center.
Everytime Evan Turner speaks it does LOOK and SOUND like they are are doing a Yachty voice over fr🤣
Evan Turner’s voice is like a robot
“Ex NBA players” smooth JJ
So Iguodala FINALLY hung up his jersey. Bout time.
Knicks were running chandler melo shump Kidd and Felton and broke the 3 point record first
Dennis Rodman and Toni Kukoc and Scottie Pippen were finishing finals with small ball.
2k players know this. That '13 Heat playbook is goated
Referring to The beginning of the video, Dwight needed another REAL BIG to play alongside him in Orlando
It was really all about spacing for Lebron. If you go back and watch game 6 down 3-2 against SA in 2013 Mike Miller played most of the 4th in place of D Wade
ADs health it literally depends on his health
The gsw played small ball against the mavs the year before the heat beat the mavs with wade and shaq
You listen to JJ break down the game sometimes and get lost lol. No doubt in my mind this dude's gonna be a head coach in the NBA.
I really dislike how everyone just gives Steph Curry for “revolutionizing” the game when in reality it’s A LOT more teams who did and had a bigger impact than Steph, the Steve Nash and Mike D’Antoni 7 seconds or less offense, the Dwight Howard led Magic with shooters around him, the big 3 Heat, players like Chris Bosh, KG, Dirk, KD all players and teams that had a HUGE impact on the game today even before Curry became a superstar
Bosh was hitting 3s all the time in that heat offense
This is the truth Miami created this new shooting and spreading the floor league which gave life to the curry’s and at the same time pop on the spurs created the switch defense to defend against that small ball movement
Yooooooo! A cliffhanger! Is he retiring or naw!😅
Hi JJ🎉
This specific conversation needs to be forced upon the eyes of basically everyone on the couch that talks sh*t on any NBA player and thinks they can do better. All of the couch coaches, tweeters and guys who only play pick up ball don’t understand all of the mechanics that go into being an NBA player including understanding every element of a team’s offense & defense and being a cog in the machine, they don’t just do whatever they want
I’m curious, who played and dished out to midrange guys the best?
Probably guys like Stockton, J.Kidd or Rondo
D Wade not appreciated enough
Don’t forgot Lebron cavs from 08 until 10 was also the same. The cavs had shooters for Lebron to pass to when driving to the rim
Miami starts a traditional line-up and their closing line-up they go small with Lebron at the 4 with 3 shooters. 2014 was more about the Spurs shooting it lights out that series and Wade declining due to
Miami always been a flawed team specially in 2011, first time new head coach and first year together. They were only winning cause of talent that year. But Spo was outclassed as a coach in the Finals.
Position-less basketball started with The Heat and the big 3
