The good life cafe, project blowed, and The Low End Theory all dont have enough information publically available to people who don't live on the west coast. I wish someone would make a documentary about all that stuff because I don't think the greater hip hop community really understands how important they all are.
People not Fuckin with open micheal or R.a.P Fierra either. Y’all’s music make my 9-5 okay. I personally give both of you your 🌺. Thanks for being real ones when it’s not popular to be real. Need more artists like this instead of selling out or compromising who they are as a person for fame and money. Just to be used speak death on humanity.
Yeah, OME, R.a.P. Ferreira, and Milo are in that underground god tier that used to be basically entirely Aesop Rock. They deserve all the flowers they can get, honestly.
@@osirisra1476 okay so throw Masta Ace, Gift of Gab, Freestyle Fellowship and the other people generally accepted as underground gods. And you talk shit instead of putting an old head up on new shit? Tell me you don't listen to hip hop without telling me you don't listen to hip hop. But I see you, feels good to put someone in an outgroup.
The "dancing Double Dutch" line brings to my mind Aesop's bar "Hey, little Lucy, wanna come jump double dutch?" / Lucy would pause, look, grin and say "I'm busy, thank you much"" on No rEgrets, EL-P on 36 Chain "Anybody looking for some trouble better self-med / We could Double Dutch in a minefield, hell gets" ooooor the DOOM line "That's the difference between sissy-pissy rappers that's double-dutch / How come I hold the microphone double-clutch" on Doomsday. Anyway, probably just having a crapshoot at your gauntlet there! Cheers from Belgium.
Do you play video games Mike P..S. i like the idea of reviewing an album after multiple listens and letting it evolve in your experience because the 1st listen and the 50th is totally different
Hey, man. Performing counts as making music. If you were known as the freestyler in 2002 it counts. You could have never put anything out. If you write a rhyme you're making music. I think the reviewer is accurate with this.
Ha! The thirstin howl the third joint at the beginning .. I love it .. I’m actually a fan of your music from hearing the podcasts .. which is probably weird to yoy
Thanks for being so open, mike eagle.
Never seen a review of a music review before! I really enjoyed the review and the concept of more musician's going through reviews
Mike is good at this podcast shit!

Performing at Low End, much less hanging, was definitely something hard to fully encapsulate in a review or something similar.

I appreciate you talking here man, I feel like I learned about you and myself
It was the 'coffee grounds' bar and perhaps others that made the critic go with that "sense of closure" goofiness.
That said if there's one track that captures the theme of the project I would guess it's probably 'we should have made otherground a thing'
I like when you do the falsetto!!
Open Mike Eagle’s got a good average.
