- This song is from my second album 'Read On'. It was covered by Cliff Richard on his 'I'm Nearly Famous' album. The little girl in the pictures is my daughter Zoe who now has a little girl of her own.

Hi John. a truly superb song! A friend of ours sang it at our wedding 31 years ago - I'd only ever heard it sung once by Sir Cliff and I have to say I just love your original even more...the song still brings a tear too my eye, thank you so much & God bless, Mike
I was glad now I can hear and see the author perform this song. I first heard this song on Cliff Richard's "Almost Famous" LP and loved this song. One of the more fantasic songs that was written for the ages. Thanks for sharing and I wondered where I can get the chords for this song.

Underappreciated to say the least; still I thank you for posting. I am a music lover from the time you first appeared on the scene. Then as today it is a comfort to know that there are artists out there creating beautiful songs that most of us never hear. I thank you for posting this one. I have your "Friend..." vinyl LP but never got the second one. Now it's off to eBay for me to search for it.

Hi John. Is this from the Me and my music programme you did on RTE? A lot of those tapes got reused back in the day. I remember taping it off the TV on my trusty Phillips tape recorder and trying to keep my little brothers quiet.
