These cards were not aimed at people with the regular editions. These were aimed at people wanting to upgrade from older cards. For me, they are super. I just saved $200 bucks over the regular version for the 4080. That's super in my book. Even with a minimal boost in performance.
About 10% improvement between each card from 4050 to 4080 and about 25-30% between 4080 s and 4090. That's so dirty how they make these evil money schemes knowing people would pay more if they charge more and that's how you turn a Graphic card company into a trillion dollar business.
Its also hard making improvements without burning your customers house down. I think they already thought about the small increments as a way to test things and let consumers have at it without going too far.

I upgraded to a 4080 Super FE from a 3080. I'm really enjoying mine. But if you're going from another 4000 series or even the 4080, it's definitely not worth it. I only went for the super due to it being 200 dollar cheaper than the 4080 originally was.

RTX 4080S is RTX 4080 little overclock. more temperature, higher power consumption, slower clock and everything to have between 1 to 3 more fps. The only interesting thing is the 200 dollars less, that's it and nothing more. Here the 4080 Super has a higher temperature because it is a Zotac Trinity which is the entry version. You would see those same temperatures if the 4080 was a Zotac Trinity. The founder edition of the 4080 Super has 10° less temperature than the Zotac, exactly the same as the founder edition 4080 model in this comparison. A Strix, Suprim, Gaming... in these same games they do not go beyond 60°/62° at most.

Yo! Even 4090 can't hit 100 FPS in Avatar FOP and 80 FPS in Alan Wake 2 even with DLSS turned on. And with RT + DLSS, 4090 can't hit even 60 FPS in Alan Wake 2. Man! Does $2000 make sense for 4090? Basically less vram usage percentage on a 4080 vs its super version. The super is has more wattage and creates 3 frames more than the regular version. The only good thing from the super version is the price, improved die, no power restriction, more cuda cores, and tensor core. which as you guys can see will only have an advantage to use for AI development and ray tracing/DLSS 3.5 for games. You can overclock it perhaps a little bit more out of it than the regular version. Other than that, Not worth upgrading the card if you already have an 4080 like myself. It's best to keep or upgrade to 4090 or 4090 super. if it ever comes out. Hopefully.

Basically that is the only thing they have sought, to give it a small improvement but still a lower price. Is it worth changing from a 4000 to a 4080 super? Obviously not. Did you want to upgrade from a 2000 or 3000 to a 4080 at the time but couldn't because the price was high? Then yes.

6000mhz CL 36 is a big bottleneck. Get some good/fast ram and run the tests again. Results will be considerably different; especially the lows 🤷♂️
