So my understanding is to measure from the shock center mounting points while the bottom control arm is flat and this will give you the appropriate shock for you?

I have a 2003 Astro van which I use for scrapping metal , the vehicle weight is 3900lbs
empty.
my stuff and me no load 6700lbs
with load around 8500lbs ,most 11,400
how do I compensate for this broad variance of weight
my suspension is already dropping
is there a special kind of shock I can use,this is the first time dealing with this and know nothing on the matter.
any info from anyone would b appreciated

So 11-5/8" compressed length and 11-3/4 is the measurement at rest? @ 6:10 in the video that's only like 1/8th travel distance?

You caught that too! I heard it, then I had to rewind. The measurements on that last car, and his response to those measurements, pretty much invalidated everything the video taught.
