- HJC IS Cruiser Helmet Review www.revzilla.co... As a ghosted out, cruiser inspired half-helmet, the HJC IS-Cruiser offers an entry-level helmet for the V-twin aficionado. As a basic half-helmet, this lid is geared towards the modern rider who is looking for a DOT option that is streamlined, low-profile, and non-obtrusive to the ride itself. Though this helmet is not overly technical, the drop-down sun visor, removable interior liner, and removable peak increase the utility and functionality for the helmet as a whole.
Excellent half helmet compared to a lot of the others I’ve tried.
It looks good, it fits nice, very comfortable, lightweight, and the shield blocks out 95% of wind EVEN AT HIGH SPEEDS.
Blocking the wind was my first priority and this helmet came thru.

I recently purchased the white one. I might look like a mushroom head but I don't care what people think. The helmet works for me and I enjoy riding. Everybody else's opinions do not matter nor are they needed.
Sounds like a friend with a full or full-face helmet made a comment about the half he didn’t have. Mushroom heads must unite.
I got this in mat black large size. I do like the visor and have no issues with it. I like the way it retracts. The wind noise seems very loud using this. I am a new rider and have nothing to compare it to but after using it with earplugs it was SO much nicer. I found that the wind noise actually created a higher stress level when riding and the opposite with earplugs. It fits good but air does rush up under the visor onto your face and in your nose. Using contacts with this is not practical unless you use an extra set of wrap eyewear under the visor. Haven't used in hot weather yet. And think the removable lining for cleaning should be a nice feature.
When the wind rushes under the drop down visor, are you using a windshield on your bike?
Is the sun visor replaceable?

love the helmet HOWEVER, i wish they had put the side emblems elsewhere. They are right where i need to mount my Bluetooth.
You must know by now the little plastic graphics pull out, turn and release the flip down shield for cleaning or replacement. Personally, I saw the things on a YT video. I bought an older model, though similar, at a yard sale and only noticed the shield after I got home with the helmet. I like the newer style…a great progression for the line keeping it updated. You can’t beat HJC helmets. I have four…three half’s, one full and one by Harley made by HJC.

What is the difference between this and the HJC is-2?
The IS-Cruiser adds the two small exhaust vents at the rear of the helmet and costs a few dollars more. That's about it. -DrewZilla

The is2 was an older model. This one shows HJC listens to customers and updates things based on customer comments. Making the new helmet with a slightly lowered base edge along with the tiny vents and that amazing finish shows the attention to detail people would want. They are nice helmets, period.
Which colour would u recommend? Glossy or matt black?

will it fit in a saddlebag when stored?
You'd need saddlebags that are at least 9" wide in order to fit the helmet sideways. Hope that helps! -TeamZilla Chris
