    My '67 is in the basement...been in the basement for way to long. Ready to bring it outside and just yesterday the headlight and tail light quit, just before I could check for spark. Thinking its the keyswtich for now. Thanks for the tips.

    I had a 1966 s90 when I was 12 rode the wheels off that thing. No blinkers and it had an up pipe with a turntable baffle in it. Closed very quite open loud and a ripper. I’m 60 now and had dozens of street and dirt bikes and quads. But still have great memories of that Honda.

      That awesome. Sounds like it had Snuff-or-Nots. Basically a washer with a knob welded to it. So you could Snuff or Not. Thanks for watching.

    Shoot some lighter fluid in cylinder first and should start better. Make sure no gas around when testing spark also. Pink wire important because it goes to rectifier or battery will go dead!

      That’s a good tip with the lighter fluid. Gonna keep that one in mind.

    Is that the battery shorting out on the frame at 14:43 mark when it falls or just reflection?

      Good eye. Could have been. I watched it 20 times trying to catch it.

    pretty cool, whats your favorite bike that you have?

    • @motorcyclerewind
      @motorcyclerewind  Год назад +2

      That’s a tough question. If I had to pick just one. I would probably say the 1968 Honda CB450 K1. It was the first bike from my bucket list. The transformation it made from the state it was in till now.
      If you asked me again I might give you a different answer.

    It may be apocryphal, but I would like some of the backstory on that Triumph Spitfire in the background. I'm guessing a 1500? Or a later Mk IV? Just curious. I assume it runs as well as most of the fleet?

    • @motorcyclerewind
      @motorcyclerewind  Год назад +1

      It’s a 1971 Triumph Spitfire. I got it in 2019 from my future son in laws(Bryce) grandfather who purchased it in 1973. Parked it in 1995.
      I got it to save it for them. We brought it back to life. When my wife, Keri got her new car we had to put it in skates to fit her car in the garage. Watch this video of what fits in the garage. ruclips.net/user/shorts8_Gs3vEehiA?feature=share

    Way back in 1982, as a 14 year old spotty youth, I stood in front of the magnificent Honda CX500 Turbo. I still have a hankering for one of those bikes. To answer the question as what to see, a CX500Turbo would be fantastic 🙂

      Are you reading my emails 😂. How do you know the future. Ask and you shall receive. Coming soon.

  • @bruceaskin9645
    @bruceaskin9645 Год назад +1

    The spark runs straight off the generator, as does the headlight. Therefore you only need one wire to run the engine. Battery is only for indicators , tail / brake light. Ignition is basically just a kill switch, that earths out the ignition

    Anything is fixable as long as you can get or make required parts. The fix making economic sense is a different issue altogether.

      @motorcyclerewind  Год назад +1

      Yes sir. Thankfully this “fix” just required a new connector. Thanks for watching
