I got an ultrasonic cleaner for Christmas and it’s the bees knees for carbs. A couple of soaks and you’re there. I too have a habit of bringing home neglected motorcycles, it’s an investment you won’t regret.
Ive mentioned that a few times. If you get a really bad one, you can soak it in a gallon of carb and parts cleaner, the kind that comes with a soaking basket. It works miracles
My cheap harbor freight ultra sonic cleaner is my go to motorcycle carbs. When they are this bad, I run them through the cleaner a couple times before I disassemble them, then run them a couple more times when disassembled. Makes a world of difference and I only use simple green degreaser in it. Im so happy when I get a notification that you guys have uploaded new video. Thank you for the endless hours of entertainment you two have given us!
Clicked 'like' before I even started watching! I discovered your channel when I was looking for how-to vids to go along with my first CT90 purchase. Loved your first CT90 series and all of the content you've shared since then. I'm up to three CT-90s now, and even found one with a sidecar. The value in these has only gone up. $700 seems like a fair price for this one. Now you and camera girl have his & hers Hondas--just in time for Valentine's Day :-)
He made me irrationally angry with that, I'm like screaming at my phone. "Well I eventually popped on it for 700..." 😂. At 700 that would be throwing it my truck fast AF. That's one clean bike.
So lucky that in the states these low mileage gems are still out there. Can't wait to see the his & her CT trail ride 🙂 Most JIS screws have a dot mark on the head, easy to spot.
Great couple, you sound lovely working together. Makes a change from having to endure crusty old blokes with questionably music choices droning on when they could be having as much fun as you two are. Thank you. What a star for getting you the right tools x.
Did anyone else feel disappointed at first that it’s not a video of a larger dirt bike/motorcycle, but then end up being very interested and kind of wanting one of these little “scooters” by the middle of the video since it’s another entertaining quality Jennie’s Garage video?
Not me. Larger dirt bikes are a dime a dozen, and their 1 foot gap between the rear tire and the fender are as provoking to already hostile neighbours as boy with pants sagging well below their butts
The price on one of these in good running shape in my area (Souther Ontario Canada) is getting honestly insane. This type of content and title does really well on the platform over the past couple years, hope this project's fulfilling in both working on it and making videos of it.
I have the EXACT same machine in my garage. I bought as a basket case and have been restoring it. Here's a few things I've run into: The rectifiers on these bikes were barely adequate from the factory and mine wasn't working at all, so I replaced it with a modern version. The wiring inside the handlebars was all shorted together and blowing the fuse because the insulation had flaked off. The potting material in the coil had leaked and the coil was shorted. Good luck with it.
Its savable, she'll run like new! Just got 2 of these before Christmas and one is already running, same problems as yours! Good luck with yours from just up the road in Foresthill.😊
Glad you got the JIS screwdrivers, find it hard to believe you didn’t already have some… but Jenny is a gem! Maybe an ultrasonic cleaner is good, but you can do that carb without - providing nothing breaks while you’re stripping it. Sure George won’t run till you’ve sorted the carb though! Now I’m on tenterhooks for the next episode!! Steam on.. Les in UK 🇬🇧
I grabbed my '74 from under the eave of a feed storage shack in west Texas, where it sat for 2 years, for $100. After a touch of work, runs good! Looks ok, and provides smiles.
I am happy for everyone who finds to the JIS screwdrivers. They are a game changer when working on old japaneses bikes. What a lovely CT90. I would really love to have one, but Honda never sold them in Europe, so you would rather find a unicorn here. So I keep on riding my faithful 70cc Honda Chaly, a cousin of theCT90. Shoutout from Southwest Germany.
Beautiful purchase! Beautiful channel! Beautiful hubby wifey relationship! Wish you guys a very long beautiful life! By the way, Horhey had me laughing out loud like a crazy man
Hey, good to see you again. A good soak in an ultrasonic cleaner then teardown and re-soak should have that carburetor like new. Nice screwdrivers Camera Girl!
Great video! A friend just gave me a 1982 Yamaha Maxim 400 twin that has been sitting for 15 years. I just bought my own set of JIS screwdrivers for it and my Yamaha snowmobile. Big difference! But lots of the screws were chewed up by using a Philips. BTW the I in JIS is “Industrial” not Industry. Keep it up!
I had a few of these a carb clean fresh oil clean petrol a relube of cables and clean up the points and it will run had mine when i was a kid my dad wouldnt help me fix em so i bought a manual and jus got on with it i used to buy these honda dax /monkey bikes and most old 70s bikes for realy cheap money in the 80s/90s it realy took me back seeing you check em over and service em .
Yes back to the well bud what started me watching you years and years ago..you make good videos somtimes man! I love yu and ur sweetys style nice relatable folks seems!
So nice to see you guys more often! Love the new acquisition, love the gift of screwdrivers. Good luck with that carb! PS: my girlfriend is away, so it's great to have your company during Valentine's Day.
I always loved this channel been years since I have watched it can't remember why I stopped, lol it's been a long time tho because my man had a full head of hair with just a hint of a going bald patch back then. as I think back he was refurbing a camper and it was something I wasn't interested in I guess YT decided to quit notifiying me on his videos.
Tanks grim... I burnt a tank out using a battery charger and metal rod... Por15 tank kit has got me some life out of a rusted tank that has no replacements.. I like that trail90, cool little bike
You got a good deal, those are simple and easy to work on and there is still a very good market for them, I would strip it down to the frame and clean things up, paint a few things and you can get top dollar for them, all those early trail type Honda's sell quite well, I've sold a few of them and I sold every one of them within a few days of posting, the Trail 50, 70 and 90 all have the exact same style of engines, it's one of Honda's greatest sales successes.
The 70 downtube cover and airbox are kind of unique that year with the recesses for the emblems. I took a set for my 78 and restored with new emblems they look good. Be as careful as possible with those plastics. They love to crack and break easily. 700 is a decent deal for it as complete as it is and milage. I'd look at the gauge closely to see if it matches that year and any signs of tampering to be safe but it looks like the right guage and a low milage bike. If you got a title with it that's a really good deal. Fully restored these can do well. A low milage survivor could do 2k or more with a title I think. Good find!
Great vid you legends. Hey the best way to test spark is to Man up , grab the spark plug with your hand and turn the engine over. When you feel the fire there is no mystery.
I’ve had similar situations with slides stuck worse than that sometimes a gentle application of heat to the area of the slide on the exterior of the carb helps quite a bit, great video! You guys are too cute!
Nice bike. You got yourself a great lady. Real nice of her for getting you the JIS set. I have a JIS screwdriver set for my Honda's, they are a must. I had a fourwheeler carburetor that was in worse condition than that one. I mean it was full of rust. The float was rusted to the float pin, I had to carefully disect that carb. But I did get it clean and that was three years ago and the machine is still running strong. So please clean that OEM carb and use it. I hate when people just take the easy route and buy a cheap chinese carb to put on.
The levers have different sized ends so when blind people ride them they can tell the difference between the front and rear brakes or clutch… 😂 Nice find on the CT, looks like a very good find, btw the carbs are still available through Honda, couple places to check out are TB parts, and phatmx
For three decades, everyone wrenching on Japanese bikes were under the illusion that the screw heads were made from cheese. Few realised that/why the "joke" screwdriwers in the bikes' toolsets fitted perfectly. Instead they put a "quality" Phillips #2 bit in the impact screwdriver and pounded away with the sledge.
Camera girl is on fire! A nest of JIS screwdrivers? I don’t know what she wants but you better give it to her! $700 is a steal for that bike. Red 110’s are my favorite but I’ve always liked that color scheme.
A woman who buys you a set of JIS screwdrivers for Valentine's is a gift from God.
YES!!!
I may have teared up a little.
@@idahoduckhunterTotally understandable.

My wife tossed mine out thinking it was a dirty old deep fryer! I got a new one though. Absolutely a game changer

Man! Camera girl is such a keeper! Count your blessings every day.... loved this video!
Camera Girl you are precious! Perfect Valentine gift you got for your man

And now we've come full circle.
It was a honda trail 90 with a pot for a head light bucket that brought me to this channel. And here we are.
When you guys make each other laugh it’s the best most driest humor and I’m here for it
Thank you so much for coming back to youtube. This is blessed posting.

I was about to comment that you should definitely get the JIS screwdrivers for this bike, then you found them. Very thoughtful of her to get them!

Its Great to watch you two making videos
great episode, tools are always a great gift !
Watching you guys always makes me smile. Thank you.
Lol’d at Jorge-izontal!! 😂😂 then almost spat my drink out at “it’s period correct”.
You are my favourite people on RUclips
I love the frequency of the new content! Happy Valentine's day!

Haha fair enough!
That carb really needs an ultra sonic bath! She'll be brand new afterwards
The price on one of these in good running shape in my area (Souther Ontario Canada) is getting honestly insane.

ive been sitting on a 65" trail 90 for a few years now. im inspired. thanks from oklahoma
Good luck man!
This is the first motorcycle I ever got to really ride as a kid. Some of my favorite memories... I can still smell the exhaust.
You go so long without posting, yet the content is STILL SOO GOOOOD! haha
I really liked "Period Correct" it is that on the fly humor of yours that just makes my day!
That carb can definitely be saved. Ultrasonic cleaner and the right chemicals. Also invest in a $3 can of carb cleaner spray :) Fun video! Good luck!
Been a fan for years! I am honered!
Used to watch this channel all the time until it died down good to see some new videos
Love your working on classic trail bikes. CT90 and CT110 forever!
Camera girl goes all out for Valentines Day! Nice job! 😊😊
I really really love your channel keep up the good work all the way from 🇦🇺 😊❤
@20:03 - Billy Joel - "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" One of my most favorite of his tunes.
Once again, sarcasm and wit are a lost art. Well done Jennies Garage!
Thank you!
You are so lucky you have them around at those prices over here in Virginia the last one i saw in that condition they wanted $3000 for it
Come to England mate they're £3000!
I bought a west Virginia import off the back of these videos
That was an absolute steal. Welcome to the family Jorge.
The first bike I did was an 81 trail 110. This channel gave me the confidence to do it and your other trail 90 videos helped a lot.
Good to see you post.
So happy to see another Trail 90 video, Your older video's about the Trail 90/125 is what inspired me to buy a motorcycle. Thank you! :)
I grabbed my '74 from under the eave of a feed storage shack in west Texas, where it sat for 2 years, for $100. After a touch of work, runs good! Looks ok, and provides smiles.
I'm loving all the new videos!!! You guys are what YT should be about.
It's great to see this type of content again. Buy a cheap bike, and get to working on it. Entertaining and educational.
Yes!! Love the little Honda videos!!
“Now you have less rags.”
Said with such perfect disappointment. LOL
Loved it.

I had that EXACT bike. 1970 Trail 90. Loved it!
Thanks for the upload! That is a beautiful Trail 90!
Wow, camera girl is the BEST!!! Those JIS screwdrivers…💯💯💯
I have a 1972 ct-90 mar’s orange from new with 1050 miles still ride that bike my son has a 1971 sl-70 what a fun day riding them both
They may not be the coolest motorcycle ever made but they have a lot of fond memories for a lot of people myself included

First impressions, you did good. I would have bought it too.
I had a 69. I think the right lever is original with the ball end. The left looks like replacement. But those are old memories.
See, that's exactly what I was talking about last video. Good stuff.
$700? You stole it man! Good stuff!! Can't wait to for the next updat!
Great vid you legends.
Hey the best way to test spark is to Man up , grab the spark plug with your hand and turn the engine over. When you feel the fire there is no mystery.
I used to buy rust boxes like this. Cheapest alternative is to submerge it in pinesol and just get a rebuild kit. Learned it from an old jeep forum
I’ve had similar situations with slides stuck worse than that sometimes a gentle application of heat to the area of the slide on the exterior of the carb helps quite a bit, great video! You guys are too cute!

Stupid RUclips never notified me. Luckily I always check to see my favorite strangers on the tube.
A quick way to dissolve the varnish on the slide is to liberally spray it with choke cleaner, it will rapidly dissolve the varnish and free the slide
That screwdrivers made me semihard. You better make her happy. Noones ever been so thoughtful towards me.
This is crazy I haven’t seen you guys in a long forever!! You were trying to get something started. lol I just followed you. 🙂

I remember when these bikes were new. Not really fast bikes but a lot of fun to ride
What a sweet looking bike! That’s a nice present by thé way ❤
this was one Frisky lil J’sG vid, even for a St. Valentine’s upload date. thanks, you two.
hopefully, spicy Jorge action followed
That bike is fresh! I’d love to find one in that condition.
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing!
