All out attack?
I thought this was xenoblade

Yes lol
Gramps -> Grandfather, as he acts like a parent, but isn't really, giving him more of a grandfather role.
Nuncle -> Uncle, as he is like a care taker, but not like a father.
Azurda -> What EVERYONE ELSE calls him.
That was pretty obvious and easy to understand.
I think I need a bigger gun for his next Xenoblade video.
There will be Black Tar everywere.

This was a expansion of xenoblade 2, we got it in the season pass, it better have existed. Its not a entirely new game, but a huge expansion
concidering all the other stuff we got in the expansion pass, getting all that +Tirna for 30 bucks was great value for the price.
You are exactly right. If you treat it as what it is, an expansion, Torna is absolutely worth it. When you buy Torna you don't just get the story expansion. You are paying for the story expansion as well as all of the base game's dlc. When taken as a whole you get the Torna expansion, around 20 new sidequests, 6 new rare blades, challenge mode, and two new difficulty settings of which one is customizable all under the same $30 price tag. Torna is an absolute bargain when viewed in the proper context of being a dlc bundle.
Perhaps the problem then is Nintendo marketed it as a standalone game. Initially it was just going to be DLC but it ended up being so big that Nintendo decided to package it as a separate game too.
Personally I loved it though I agree that parts of the story wound up being underwhelming. The “war” ended up being, as far as we saw, Malos outright destroying stuff and then Mythra fighting him twice (and the first fight wasn’t really much of one). Heck, the main game stated Mythra didn’t actually destroy Torna, Amalthus did... and then this sorta contradicted it. There’s multiple contradictions in the game actually. But I thoroughly enjoyed this as an expansion, it was fairly lengthy for DLC, had fun new mechanics, and the story was mostly enjoyable (Mythra’s breakdown was heartbreaking).
@@jeffmatrachisia3827 in regards to Mythra vs. Amalthus destroying Torna: I see it as Mythra may have destroyed Torna the Titan by bring unable to control Pneuma's power; while Amalthus destroyed Torna the People by hunting them all down and blackmailing the Tantalese.
I mean I don't think the point is hard to understand at all...
Mythra gets told off during the entire game for not understanding humans and in the end she sinks an entire continent for someone.
They took everything Ramzaes didn't like about 2 and magnified it
but hey I thought it was decent enough

**Simpleton intensify**
She's not a simpleton...
She's an obnoxious tsundere.
Personally I think Mythra DID grow over the course of the game, she started out cocky and cold but ended up seeing humans as something worth saving. The coldness she had in XC2 was distinctly different, she clearly was afraid to let people in and worried she would kill people. In this she basically early on said, “LUL WHO CARES IF PEOPLE DIE, I JUST WANNA BEAT UP MALOS” and was overall insensitive.
What I’m saying is, her behavior in XC2 was logical based on the trauma of accidentally killing countless people, including those she cared about. When she had a mental breakdown at the end of this she essentially developed an alternate personality as a coping mechanism (a rare but possible effect of trauma) and didn’t want to face the world anymore, let alone get close to people. As for why everyone harassed her through this game? She was pretty insensitive and didn’t really see the value in preserving life, calling her a “simpleton” might be a bit much because I wouldn’t say she’s dumb (she’s literally a super computer), but she definitely was pretty callous early on.
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Brighid: Tch, simpleton.
I actually enjoyed the side quests, most of all the final round of them. Felt like you were helping an entire city flourish, it was nice

You should have pointed out two things. First, the meeting with Rex was destined cause Mythra had a vision of it, and second, turns out, Rex might very well be Addam's descendant, as like when Malos met Rex and comments on Rex's eyes, Malos did the same to Addam about his eyes. Not to mention, turns out Addam had a wife that was pregnant, so yeah.
They're so obviously related. Just look at those mouths.
I can see you finished Torna as well, good friend.

I don’t know if you’re actually serious about this, but Gramps and Nuncle are just names given to Azurda by Rex and Addam. His real name is Azurda. Also, I’m surprised you didn’t like Milton. I feel like so many people loved him. At least I did.
I fucking hate Milton. Actually that’s a bit harsh, he had a lot of genuinely funny moments. But my problem is that he just keeps bullying Mythra. Like I get he’s a kid but a good tip for writing kids in video games is to not write them like actual children, because actual children are stupid.
@@uncomfortablyclose8481 and mean
Imo Torna > base XC2
But both of them combined is an experience I’ve never had when playing a game. XC2 as a whole is my favorite game, ever.
The game is best when you combine them. They make each other better and as a whole, it's better than they are individually.
I’d agree, but XC1 exists so I disagree
the monado man IMO XC2 has better gameplay, art direction, world design and music than XC1. I wouldn’t say XC1 is better than XC2 in any way besides the act it has consistently better voice acting
@@mx4159 I also agree. Xenoblade 1 has been my favorite game for a long time, but Xenoblade 2 with Torna has a lot of depth in the world and story that surpasses Xenoblade 1. Xenoblade 1 just has very good pacing and direction for the story. At its core, it follows a basic JRPG story, but it's the execution of that story that makes it amazing. And of course some stellar voice acting.
TheNotoriousFerg
I would say that the world design for XC1 is better though. In XC1, you really feel that you’re on a titan, considering how the different limbs and positions of the Titans is considered in the world and story. In XC2, most of it takes place on the titan’s backs, with some exceptions. The main thing is that the story of XC1 is just leagues above XC2, and the pacing and plot twists are way better.
How did you say golden experience without making a jojo reference. I’m disappointed
Pay close attention at 1:31

Because it's Gold Experience not Golden Experience
Finally a video that saves me time by completing the DLC for me!
Well I'm happy I actually heard complaints about Torna. I actually don't understand why it gets so much praise and why people try to compare it to other Xenoblades as if it is it's own game.
Also X is next, I am HYPED for that!
Massive Melee (?) Mythra has her half core crystal missing in Torna
"Excuse me wtf?"
Yea... Cus she didnt lose it for 500years....
8:03 Ah yes. Every video game character's worst enemy: the cutscenes battles. Because sure, ya win a flawless landslide victory out of them, but ya still gets ya booty kicked in them.
This how you make a DLC. I havent seen a DLC so complete since The Witcher 3. This is basically anothergame, Xeboblade 2.5
Golden Experience?...
Requiem!
Oh gosh, he's doing X! That's going to be a crazy adventure! I am so excited, I loved that game when it first came out, haven't played it in quite awhile. This'll be a GREAT refresher when it does surface!
Me: see's theredattorneymember I mean RamZeas upload
Also me: time to eat mac and cheese
Mac and cheese is bad for your health! That's unacceptable!
You are the first person I see who liked the base game more story-wise, lol
Every complaint in this video that wasn't one the majority of fans have: "Why wasn't this expansion that was released as part of a DLC pass alongside a bunch of other things for the main game for half the price as deep and complex as it?"
If you get this bent out of shape about an expansion to a game you like not being exactly like XC2 when it was never trying to be I'd hate to see your thoughts on X, especially because you seem to think it's the same type of game as XC1 and 2.
It will be interesting how well he adapts to Xs different approach to story, since it has a more episodic star trek like nature were the "main story" is arguably less relevant than the "sidequests".
I personally an a great fan of this episodic style since it give you a much greater feeling of being part of the every day live of that world. To put it a bit dramatically, I had one epic journey on Alrest, but I lived a life on Mira, with events large and small taking place.
Alright, I like this video as per usual, but I have to disagree with some of your opinion's. The story is excellent in my opinion, the gameplay has left me wanting more allowing me for over 30 hours and more gameplay per run, and while the side quests are tedious, they allow for more story telling between the cast.
You seemed to be more focused on gameplay and main story than the side cast and other elements. The entire point of the side quests was not to drag the game out longer than it needed to be, but to build the world more than it already was.
The more side quests you complete, the more you add to your community. You see this community expand and so all of their stories unfold making you care for them, and then when the ending strikes, you're like 'oh fuck oh shit everyone's dead oh god'. That was the entire point of these side quests, world building. To make the world feel more alive.
And yes, while I wouldn't buy the physical copy of the game, if you already own the original Xenoblade 2, get the Expansion Pass for it. Gives you more content overall and at a cheaper price.
The physical has the same as the digital, it's just a bit more expensive because duh, material costs.
Yeah, the sidequests are second only to XCX
3:13 Is RamZaes trying to enter the competitive realm of Xenoblade YTPs? Because I am 100% okay with that.
I'm at the final boss in xenoblade 2 and played this game before it and was glad I did. it made the story even better knowing the what happened in the past.
Wait..... a RamZaes video.... *AND NOT ONE MENTION OF MAC AND CHEESE!?! GASP! SIMPLETON!*
Not gonna lie: when minoth join the party I was like "hell yeah, my boy cole!" And started pretending he was cole from dragon age Inquisition
I literally just started replaying X, thank you for helping shed more light on that amazing gem
I lost almost 200 hours of my life to that game. I don't regret one bit.
The best part about the Torna DLC was Addam tbh. He was hilarious
Can I just say I really like your video thumbnails? They're funny but also detail exactly what we're going to get.
I guess the beauty of these games is, if you do it all in one playthrough and keep the save file, the rewards are usually yours to keep. Xenoblade chronicles 1 even handed out a 3rd more powerful monado to blitz through the main story anytime, and in no. 2 we don't even have to worry about that if we just wanna watch the cutscenes ☺️
Even though I have over 100 sidequests pending in the main game, for some reason I decided to do as many side quests as possible, and it was awesome that I did, because it turned out to be required, so good thing I wasn't lazy like I was in the main game.
My name is... UGH! All the Waifublades Have culminated into one final video that seriously cant stop making me laugh lol
RamZaes videos keep me going. I needed this shot of sweet sweet dopamine
That 2 second bit of Black Tar
As someone who put 180 hours and 100% the map data in XCX, bring it on Ramzaes.

i really loved the game,so much that after completing it i instantly started new game + and did the 100%.
Well I guess I'll be watching this in a few months when I finish the base game and then this DLC
The only Waifublade videos were a big reason as to why I picked up the game, been loving it so far

Reasons why I watch this video again and again;
You at 3:13,7:28
Addam in general (I know he has a wife ;;-;;)
The amount of memes
Because I can never get the games
Jin

And lastly,
What had happened back then
I was in the middle of trying to beat the final superboss for this game when I noticed this video came up. Well that guy can wait. This video cannot.
I watched all the cutscenes for xenoblade chronicles 2 when mythra came in I was like. "Oh God she is one of those characters" aka a tsundere. And I really didn't like how she treated rex even if its played for comedy most of the time. So I dont mind the characters in this game calling her a simpleton and treating her like she is an idiot.
Rexs scream is racecar material ngl
I guess I expected the game to focus on Addam and Mythra, so we'd see what a hero he was, why he couldn't wield Pneuma's power, and why Mythra decided to create Pyra. I wanted to see justification for Jin's descent into madness. I wanted to know why everyone blamed Mythra instead of Malos (since everyone seems to know Malos' name). I wanted to know why Amalthus got away with summoning the Endbringer. But instead, we got a story about Lora, more or less. I really liked Lora, but the story just didn't resonate. It felt like Xenoblade Chronicles X in that regard.
I'm completely with you on the combat, though. Wouldn't be too hard to implement, I think, and it would open up so many fun options since you get to have three Blades at once, with a whole host to choose from. I want to fight with Zenobia!
14:08 me every time someone says despair in a video game
I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS YESTERDAY!
I agree with a lot of your points, I was pretty disappointed that it takes place on such a condensed time scale since I'd assumed they'd been working together for a year or better against Malos, not like....a month? Maybe? If they'd rearranged the order of events that side quest stuff could've felt way more natural instead of "oh, Mathos has awakened the Titan, time to run around doing nonsense tasks for people we know are definitely gonna die!" Or made some of the side quest stuff part of the main story, like building that (ultimately useless) shelter could've been a thing, or dealing with Addam's army instead of just "hi bye!" never to see them again
But I still really loved Golden Country, if nothing else the final moments for the Tornan titan really hit me where it hurt cause this team knows how to make me cry like a baby over anime bullshit. I felt like it at least helped contextualize Mythra for the start of XC2 & made me really _really_ wish they'd included Haze as a NG+ Blade. You get the Torna Blades & they're _just as dead give me Haze goddammit!_
Now, I've seen people saying that since they're going boy->girl->boy for the XBC protagonists & since Lora is _technically_ the protagonist the next big Xenoblade game will have a male lead & I'm mostly scratching my head about that. It's just such an odd takeaway? Anyone who's played Torna will be more than able to tell you that it's _fun_ but it's hardly a full Xenoblade game. Is it because it got a physical release for some reason??
It was really interesting seeing this game get a standalone release and not just have been full on DLC only cause... This definitely isn't a game that can stand on its own. As you explain it really doesn't hold that big of a story importance or really fill in any new information that's important to the main game. Not to mention a handful of the information in Torna doesn't make sense unless you have already played Xenoblade 2 as well as the importance of the characters you already know from Xenoblade 2. This game is wonderful with how it built upon the game mechanics of Xenoblade 2, but falls short in the story department, it's still a great and engaging story, but holds no importance to the events of the main game. It's just a big fan treat for those who want a bit more Xenoblade 2 and I can respect that. It's still fun in it's own right. Not terrible but nothing to be clapping for. Music is friggin banger though.
RamZaes: It's the Golden Experience
Breathes Oxygen
Me: IS THAT A JOJO REFERENCE
I think you missed the point of certain things. The side quests help flesh out the world and gives a connection with the people of Torna which makes it all the more heartbreaking seeing all of it go up in flames. Milton dying made it all the more real for Mythra which is why she goes insane. Also it was a war the game is explored through Jin and Lora's eyes so you don't see the extent of it. It's explained that Addam has his militia that was enlisted by Uraya and Addam and Mythra don't meet Jin and Lora until a year after Mythra is first awakened.
You are not alone, torna is overrated but considering that the game came with the expansion pack for 30 dollars its still a good deal. Like you said I didnt enjoy the story that much but the plot gave some good characterization to Jin, Mythra and Malos which enhanced the story in the base game for me.
Nucleogenman pretty much. If I bought Torna as a stand-alone game I would’ve been disappointed. But as DLC I enjoyed it. The story was underwhelming (and sometimes even contradicted the main game) but I actually think they handled character development pretty well.
mythra gets bullied for being a dumb blonde, so she creates Pyra.
I understand being disappointed by the lack of a huge war, but I think that it added to the story greatly.
Every time I hear Mythra say “A simpleton?” I always laugh
Once the XC1 re-release comes out, I'm gonna play it, then XC2 Torna: The Golden Country, and then XC2 all over from the start so that I can make sure I get all the details again, because I love this game so much
Yes brother I love xenoblade chronicles x even though I've never beat it cause I need the skells but final boss said nah
I played the eff out of Xenoblade X and wish it was rereleased for switch, or got a sequel.
Next up: Our usual generic silent protagonist helps out some uncontrollable survivors by uncovering many mysteries surrounding a whole different planet. Will he find the key someone lost? Will he find out what's over the rainbow? Stay tuned and watch as this confusing plot unfolds!
Aegeon is just meant to be a simple samurai blade. Don't bullying him!
21:35 I actually died against him because I'm not good at fighting with one party member, but you just auto res without missing a beat.
I love Mythra but I feel some of the bullying is justified in the beginning, not all of it but ay guess they needed an excuse to make Rex the nicest person to her

1:36 I KNEW YOU WERE GONNA DO THAT!!. I mean who wouldn't??
Hell yeah.
I’ve been waiting for this!
Mmm... I usually like and agree with all of your videos, Ramzy, except this one. Torna was a great expansion game. The combat alone makes it for any flaw it has. Being able to actually fight as blades made the combat so much fun and engaging. The story wasn’t bad, either, it was very nice seeing the events that actually happened 500 years ago, meeting Addam (wonderful character), meeting Haze (best Torna blade), and meeting the rest. I also liked the kids and their interactions with the adults, Milton (the gormotti boy) was IMO adorable. The only thing Torna failed on, was having to raise the community level to get past certain points. I do side quests while I do the main quest anyways, so the community lock thing only appeared to me at the end when I needed it at level 4 to fight Malos. About Mythra destroying the Torna titan, it wasn’t only her, it was Malos as well. Mythra’s “Sacred Arrow” attack is what mostly destroyed everything, when her mech radiated energy and repelled Malos’ attack, causing all the light arrows to rain down upon Torna, and killing Hugo.
5:05 does the guy who abused Lora and her mother look like Mumkhar to anyone else?
12:25: I really like Morag Scottish accent and Nia Welsh accent X3
I HAVE A BOX OF VELVEETA SHELLS AND CHEESE JUST FOR THIS OCCASION.
I don’t know why but I in general prefer the base game combat system more then torna. I just feel like I have more control over the battle when it comes to driver combos. However I do think the getting orb for each special for each level of the tree is a great improvement. I wish there was a way to do hybrid where you can combine the ease of doing the driver combo of break topple launch and smash in the original game, with the elemental tree with tornas.
I think Mythra not being respected in the DLC is kinda crucial for the main game. She stopped being arrogant and began to think she can‘t meet the expatation.
There's one thing you can't argue with though:
The music in Torna is way better than in the main game.
Battle theme yes but background music was better in the main game imo
*25mim Xenoblade video*
Ok let me get some popcorn then
The best part about the combat for Torna was that you could turn on auto-pilot and ignore it completely.
This got me wheezing for hours
no: You guys wanna listen to sicko mode or mobamba?
yes: TORNA MAIN BATTLE THEME
Actually torna was originally going to be in the main game but they weren’t able to originally
i do like the play style in torna because its aggressive but do have flaw compare to the main. They didnt even put the cut scene where jin took malos hand or lora dying. Also Addam wife is pregnant
I might not fully share the portrayed opinion on this games story, but I do see the see where the criticism comes from.
The relationship between Mythra and cat-boy (forgot his name) is probably supposed to be that of siblings, hence the teasing.
Well siblings do tease each other, but then again, they also show support and compassion for each other. The latter ones are completely missing, which makes the ending less impactful. If the story writers hadn’t butchered Mythras and cat-boys relationship, it would have improved the story quite a bit. But at the end of the day, this is just the opinion that I personally have.
Hey guys, let's bully Mythra!
I understand that her personal growth comes in the first game but the sheer amount of rag they threw at her in this second one was overkill.
