43:00 that's GW logic. Like how they made Erol the Young the frigging founder of Rohan, a hero of Valour. They did not give him hero of legend despite giving him "legendary hero" as a passive rule.
Don't forget that Galadriel gets the free point from her Lady of light ability. Which you opponent cannot counter. Unlike the heroes like Gandalf or Saruman that get it from their staff, which can be broken. So you'll lise the free will.
Nice! I was literally just gonna ask on your last video when you guys were doing a Lothlorien and/or Halls of Thranduil review, so I'm excited for this one. Hoping you got Thranduil in the works at some point. Could also be interesting to see what new units Lothlorien and HoT get with Defence of the North and how those would factor in to your tier lists.
Mate I'm also super excited for thrandaddies halls my old main faction many many years ago.

Really good video and has helped me start collecting my first elf army. To make it really themey my first battle with elves this weekend is Galadhirim Woodelves allied with Noldorian Exiles and allied with.... Treebeard (yes treebeard) vs AOL LL. I'll probably get killed but will be fun running these woodelves with treebeard. after this I shall start to get the Galadhrim warriors and heroes as per your tier list. Thanks for your help, and big up the Wood elves.

@@NoobsandMen I had my doubts initially Liam but after playing Lothlorien Woodelves+Exiles vs AOL LL, I am with you 100% now Liam. Woodelves are amazing, I particularly like the Exiles with Gildora, 8inch move, Elven Cloak and Immobilise were really useful against the AOL LL. They couldn't catch me, their shooting was nerfed and I could Immobilise their Monsters. Thanks for recommending.
Fuck yes Lothlorien are my main jam. Agree with all points, Loth can be really scary. I just horsed Dunland LL 12-0 in a bat rep on my channel. Praying for the 3rd brother in war in the North supplement but not sure what I want him to do.
agreed! Orophin would be awesome! Probably as a wood elf captain?

Three attacks would be nice, something they're lacking in all their heroes bar celeborn

I wish they'd do more to differentiate between Galadhrim and Wood Elves. Either switch up the points of one/both, or offer more incentives to take Wood Elves. Cloak should be optional so we can save points on those that don't need it, because the current cost, imo, is too high. Especially if you take daggers.
Would be nice but honestly I have a heap of fun with my PJ elves and they can still do just as good as their armoured counterparts

@@NoobsandMen My thoughts on it tend to flip flop depending on how well my throwing daggers do to be honest 😂 if all the rolls whiff i end up sorely missing the higher defense of Galadhrim.
Wood elf captain should have a special rule boosting wood elf warriors somehow, maybe a bit like the mercenary goblin captain from goblin town?
That would give you a reason to bring more combat oriented wood elves
Or Maybe similar to gildor’s
Legitimately any form of special rule would help these guys greatly.

S+++++ Tier: Tim the Hobbit Ballista
I'm going to my first tournament soon and I'm taking a mounted banner and wood elf captain...trying to justify the captain as he got the cloak and might on a bow. A mounted banner to follow my knights and mounted captain. Also running Celeborn and Haldir. Haven't practiced with the list yet.
I'd give the list a practice, if you enjoy how it runs then more power to ya but that wood elf captain... I'd really recommend any other hero 😅

Great video, just starting Lothlorien myself, so this helps. Have Galadriel, Haldir, and both armored and unarmored Celeborn currently, w/a box each of Galadhrim Warriors and Knights on the way, along w/Rumil & Orophin. How many heroes would you include @600 points?
Depends, at 600 you could potentially grab all three brothers and make a list with them. On the other hand you probably only want one of either Gladdy or Celeborn and then one of the brothers, I usually go with Rumil but I also think Orophin is also a good shout.

Still didn’t get S tier bows
When Liam gets on a hill it's hard to get him off and that's what we love about him. The passion that he brings to the hobby amongst many other things.
He's arguments are 100% justified and in retrospect I'm leaning more towards S tier.

maybe liam can get his elves up against easterlings or mordor for a bat rep. do you guys have someone in the group with them? if he uses them as well as you guys suggest that he can, against D6 will be a true test. i'd be curious to see how he plays them.
i tend to agree with the point that the galadhrim are just more reliable at D6. if you suggest that you need throwing weapons and spears everywhere to make wood elves useful, then you don't have the cost advantage. i agree with your points though liam. They're still a F5 shielding model, with great shooting and if played well, can't be shot back.

I came up against plenty of D6 at the tournament I recently ran them in, Mordor, Gondor, Thrandaddies halls. Didn't lose a single game, drew against thrandaddy tho.
Again I'm not saying the wood elves are better than Galadhrim (though the bows definitely are) but just that the D6/d5 doesnt matter when you're f5 winning fights, they operate the exact same in that regard.

Lothlorien are just a decent infantry wall. Excellent work, I'd make no alterations! I wish Galadriel could be taken as evil bitch galadriel, even if it meant other lothlorien models couldn't use her standfast or something.

I plan on trying out a lothlorien shield wall with a mounted Rohan force, I’ll let you guys know how it turns out!
I reckon it should work pretty well, have f5 lads shielding while the cav works through the line

I Just wondered: are you guys longtime and/or pro players? Since you know so much and are able to do the videos with so much insights^^
I wouldn't call us pros hahaha we've all been playing the game a long while and have a fair few tournaments under our belts but the main thing is we're just super passionate about the game!

I'm aware this is 10 months old at this point, but would the Galadhrim knight move at all now that they've FAQ'd them to actually have Hand and a half swords?
Nah Knight with bow is still the way to run them, so that's exactly where it should be, tho I guess just a plain knight could move up to b tier now. definitely a case to be made to run them sometimes

I'm so salty about how bad wood elf captains are. I love the model! I had an amazing time painting it! but it just sucks so much
They just need something to set them apart from the others, something only they can bring but no, they're just terrible...

It's funny that, even though Lothlorien is by far my favorite army, always has been since I first saw The Two Towers (the armor and weapon aesthetic for them is just awesome, my absolute favorite look in any fantasy universe), I am extremely 'meh' on Galadriel. Maybe it's cause I've never actually played with her in the list, but she's just not a hero that I ever want to take, her profile doesn't do enough for me to take her and leave Celeborn. I'm just a sucker for heroes who I can better rely on to kill stuff haha, so compared to other spellcasters I'm just not that into her.
I also never bring wood elves (not including sentinels, they're quite nice) if I can help it, that D3 has just burned me too often for me to ever want to bring them when I can choose not to (looking at you, Battle Companies). Armoured Galadhrim infantry for the win as far as I'm concerned.
Mate your absolutely sleeping on Galadriel.
She is one of the most supportive hero in the game. Can negate shooting with blinding light, and a few cheeky spells to stop enemy heroes and keep your other heroes in the game by restoring fate.
Her heroic defense comes in handy during a pinch and she's also a solid move battery cause you ain't using that might for much more.
Cbro is solid but I find it hard to look past galadriel, all he is is a beat stick.
Wood elves bro are amazing but really tough to get a hold of. Once you do tho they won't let you down D means nothing if your choosing the Battle field and how fights happen. They are a skirmish force only getting into combat when it favours you.

@@NoobsandMen I really like wood elves cause of the throwing weapons. Also, thinking about it, with all the +1s to wound and S4 there is running around the difference in defense is obviously big but not that big. On the other hand you get stalk unseen, throwing weapons, more bodies and shielding spears. The big difference is against s3, which wounds WE on a 4 and Galahdrim on 6s. But who cares anyways, just roll 6s to win fights. Ez

Where would Oraphin go on the lothlorien list ?
Personally I think he slots nicely into mid A tier.
He's got a really good special rule, but no strike I believe knocks him down a peg. He's be low S, high A if he had strike.
