I wish there were a Minas Morgul faction. get you a faction bonus not based on outnumbering so you could really go to town on elites like black nums & morgul knights without feeling like you're missing out, maybe something that boosts casting (tower of sorcery and all) to amp up wraiths & kardush, get some spectres in there (the old lotr sbg morgul army had them, mordor can't even ally them effectively) for that spooky touch of angmar to fit the Witch-king's abode.
I'd gladly give up uruks, wargs, even morannons and trolls if need be.
God these are so entertaining, listening while I paint! Would love to hear Azog's hunters/legion!

Guritz is even better than you say. Madril has the limitation of only affecting warbands from Minas Tirith. Guritz benefits all evil warbands (read: allies) which makes him incredible.
We do try and make these tier lists more independent of allied forces, just how they fit into their own faction alone. With Barad Dur and Mordor sharing so much though we merged them here. Though you're right that does make him a better model overall for sure!

What do u think about chucking an axt or two on zagdush? It would make him even more a glasscanon but he wouldnt need to spend ressources to go to S6 and A3 everytime he wants and can call a strike.
Btw how about making a tierlist of all siege weapons across all sections? Would be kinda weird, not even sure if there are enough of them to make a vid about it but def havent seen that before.

Sadly you can't swap weapons on named heroes, only troops and unnamed heroes (captains etc.) Otherwise this would be the best way to play him!
Siege tier list would be interesting but we both kinda despise the idea of them in a skirmish game hahaha! Would make for a salty video for sure!

Is morgul stalker really an option? Are those 2 points more than an hunter orc for essentially the 2 attacks (for stalk unseen) worth it?
We're not comparing these profiles to other profiles too often here. Goritz/madril was a special case haha. Morgul stalkers in a Mordor list are quite nice in my opinion, they give Mordor cheap two attacks which is huge and stalk unseen helps them not get shot to crap too often hahaha

Absolutely agree on the great beast- I take minimum two whenever possible. The bows are the real winners, the beast is just a bonus. No March for the commander sadly
Also agree with Shelob, not for survival instinct as much as the single (maybe 2) attacks. Haven’t tried her in the LL, I’d imagine she shoots up a few tiers there

Totally disagree on the corrupt. While it isn't as field it and play as other nazguls the ability to prevent warriors to take part in heroic moves after initiative has been rolled is amazing: it can prevent cavalry charges, an object bearer to escape, a line to reform... Add solid spellcasting on top, it's great.
Honestly missed that they can't benefit from heroics as well, always thought it was only standfast! That for sure bumps him a little more for me

Can anyone explain to me why, of all the different warriors, only the Black Guard is forced to exchange the shield for the banner, while all the others may have both?
Can't be the model not having a shield - neither do any of the others (except Morgul Knights).
Why would I ever pay 37 points for a D5 banner if I can get a D6 banner /w shield and spear (!) for 34? That's just dumb.

Just a quick mention. Troll chief behind the front line (especially if its in the LL) standing still throwing stones with some might in store, Can be devastating . Can knock off a hero very easy

Yeah that 5+ aint too reliable. I just remember a game I was running Balin and my mate had Black Gate LL . And with that extra might to boost his hit rolls. I made the mistake of leaving balin out in the open. Was almost dead in 2 turns lol

Why would the great beast bowmen be able to shoot in any direction? They still can only shoot over one other bowmens shoulder I think.

I remember reading this somewhere but I can't seem to find it in the rules. So I guess they can't shoot in any direction.

Any good place to get black numemarians or mogul knights. Especially none GW models. Also same for black guard.
Only place I know that does Black Nums is the 3D printing group Davale miniature.

These are all entertaining to watch, but my god do I disagree with soooo many placements. Super interesting hearing other peoples' differing thoughts on profiles.
Always going to be different play styles and opinions! Especially from other parts of the world.

@@NoobsandMen It's not a bad thing to disagree, I always enjoy hearing other's thoughts. I will say though, the only indefensible placement from this video was Knight of Umbar, compared to the other wraiths he is just so trash, he really needs Strike at the very least in order to even be considered over any of the other wraiths. I would have slammed him straight into his own F tier, he does not measure up to the plethora of outstanding heroes available to Mordor.
@@TimmyT9204 Knight of umbar is legit. Cast a couple of sap wills or transfixes to drain a big heroes will, then cast a beefy channeled transfix or compel, fly in, steal the enemys stats and murder them with a flash kill. I've seen a Boromir die this way.
My personal wraith tier list is from lowest to highest
Bad: Dwimmy, Tainted
Situational: Khamul, Knight of umbar and Beterayer. They're all great at their best and woeful at their worst. Betrayer being the best at his best.
Good all rounders. Shadow boi, Undying. Vanilla wraith.
Real fucking good. Dark Marshall (f6, instill fear on a 4+!) Witch king.
@@judgejudyandexecutioner.5223 My issue with the Knight is that he just isn't the best at doing what you are describing. He is one of the 3 wraith with bad casting values, and while the other 2 make up for that with their abilities, the KoU does not. In the scenario above you would rarely copy S or A values when you are on a fell beast, and copying the F value gets a tie. Compare that to Kamul, he can sometimes outfight with just a point of Will against F5 guys, he actually has Strike which the KoU desperately needs, and he can regain will on wounds so you can bulldoze him into warriors to recharge him. And then the WK can also be a combat wraith and just completely outclasses KoU in every way.
Even other wraiths that I think are pretty bad like the Dwimmerlaik or the Tainted at least have a unique roll they can play, and have acceptable casting. You could take either of those 2 wraiths over the WK if you wanted their effects in your list, KoU just does not serve a purpose when there are not 1 but 2 wraiths that can do what he does only much better. Even in a Corsairs list I would sooner ally another wraith from Mordor than use KoU.
My understanding is the KoU used to be a monster in the last edition, and in this new edition they overcorrected and nerfed everything about him. He really needs some type of errata to even be in consideration against the other 9 wraith options at our disposal. Just adding Heroic Strike would be enough to at least make him a contender, even if that alone still would not make him as appealing as Kamul.
Warhorn: the larger the game the bigger the payout.

i disagree with several of these. the tainted is quite a powerful wraith. stand fast deny is rather clutch on those games with low courage opponents (and they are going to have -1 as well ) and the seeping decay is more a deterrent more so then a ability to kill things and it does work. think how often you as a player avoid being shot at despite being wounded on a 6?
He's just not as good as the other wraiths, standfast is only maybe 1/4th of the game if that especially in tournament settings

Gothmog is A tier for me. One of the biggest benefits of master of battle is in heroic strike situations. Dain, Azog and Bolg are so frustrating because you've gotta strike to win combats and they'll throw one right back for free. Gothmog doesn't find himself in many because he's only F5! That, and his cost being a touch high IMO keep him in A. Goes to S in good vs evil tournaments.
Someone needs to play a witch king, Black guard captain, Kardush, Goroth list. Just jam orcs and moranons out the wazoo and sacrifice them to Kardush and Goroth.
As for troops, I'd have the humble moranon orc in S tier. Cheap, so they help with army bonus, and they're the natural predator of other high quality troops; elves. Their stat line flows very well against elves. They're not 'wasting' points on F4, S4 means they'll wound naked elves on 4s and armor/shield elves on 5s, and D6 means elves need 6s. They just stack up so well there against what can be a tricky opponent.
Gothmog's still gotta be S Tier for me, his other two special rules synergize so well with the army as a whole even if MOB doesn't work for strikes it still so effective for moves and making your opponent think very carefully about combats.
I'd love to see that Goroth Kardush list for sure!
Yeah as an all around troop they are hard to beat, though it fork the extra point for more Black nums personally

If the opponent is high courage, and or D6 you're gonna wish you brought more Moranons.
If numenorians could take a spear for 10 points, you'd still take moranons with spears to support them, and that's why I think Moranons are sneakily the glue of the Mordor list. S tier baby. It's whats for breakfast.
how much points wound it cost to have Sauron max warband, The Nine named Nazgol max out on fellbeast or horse and max warbands. honestly if I see that on the table my falling to The Power of The Ring. The name of the army list is Sauron takes the boys to take some names.
Had to figure this out as soon as i saw it, sadly you cant get the named nine in Barad-Dur but for 3000pts you can have Witchy maxed out, 8 maxed out wraiths on wings and Sauron with 145 models total, half being black nums the other half being orcs! Pretty sick list honestly

@@NoobsandMen thank you for replying so quickly why can't you take The Nine in Barad-Dur list weren't they around daring that time and I only as because I thought it would be fun to and a 1000 point tournament and having the top three players up against that Sauron list with the to the death scenario with Sauron only play at the start of turn 3 or 4 with the army breaking after Sauron dies and The Nine being able to come back to "life" on a 2+ like the Dol Guldur list but it only can happen if Sauron is on the field, and all friendly models are fearless 12" around Sauron again this is just a fun idea I had after watching this video as some fun final boss the top three have to fight for fun
Can you take Sauron in a Mordor list? He’s Barad-Dur only as far as I can tell?
He absolutely is, we had him here because he's the only model that differs from Barad Dur and Mordor so we put them together essentially

Why would black guard be so high? They're three points higher than a black num, get two more strength but one less courage so you're only getting 1 point worth of bonuses.
They serve 2 different roles in the army.
Black mums will always be the better choice, but if you need that assistance in getting some killing power, a few black guards with axes sprinkled in your force will do gods work.
