- Hi everyone - join me on a weekend down at the Retro Show in my ca18det powered Ford Capri.

Haha - sorry about that - that one was the only one that recorded properly! My cheap mount fell off on the other one 😂 had to make sure that everyone knew why you started going backwards though. 😂
subbed for more CA content,I have a fully forged CA in my 200sx s13 loads of power and reliability mods
I have horsham stage 2/3 chips and an austrailian extreme tuning stage 4 380>400 ,at the limits of the stock gearbox so Im trying to make a lexus j160 6 speed work cut n shut bellhousing etc,with a simple circlip mod
on the mainshaft the j160 can handle over 800 as next move is going to Mobne spec @705 atw
,I copied his build then added some extra mods,very underated engine the stock crank/block can do over 800
A good LSD in the capri should bring your times down a fair bit,maybe a softer compression on rear shocks
for more rear squat/weight transfer and try softer tyre pressures ,do 1 adjustment at a time so you can see what works or not imo,be good to see how it runs next time its at the pod mate
Thanks for the sub, Andy 👍means a lot! Your CA sounds awesome - I think the big end bearing issues gave them a bad name but once sorted they're fantastic. 705bhp atw!!!! That's an insane amount of power 😳😳 great idea with the gearbox - my 4th is getting a bit noisy so I was going to buy a spare box until I saw how much they go for now... I was wondering about a swap for an mx5 one with some bellhousing mods but that Lexus idea is very interesting. Cheers again, mate! 👍
@@RustedPistons the mx5 6 speed, s15 spec R silvia/200sx,rx8 all use a version of the j160
but only the lexus version can handle up to 500 ish as it uses a better quality material for the gear set & shafts then its also shot peened,jump on a is200 gearbox going cheap if you can
all the other vesrsions are 300>350 max like a stock 200sx box power limit,
I have done rear of the cylinder head oil return lines back to the sump,made a Greedy style big wing sump from an SR20det fit the CA sump and a 30 row oil cooler to get oil capacity over 5 litres,
the stock CA sump needs a baffel plate at the very least to stop oil surge away from the pick up
under hard acceleration,the head fills the rocker covers at high revs and cant drain back as the port for oil return is half way/middle of the head so the drains are another reliability good mod imo

What have you changed in the ford capri other than the engine?
Hi Malcolm, it has the engine, gearbox, and front half of the prop from a Nissan s13. The rest of the prop is Ford. It has a helical gear LSD, AVO adjustable shocks and lower, stiffer springs. Poly bushes, 2.8i drilled and grooved discs with yellow stuff pads, amongst lots of other modifications!

In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know 😔 at least if we keep old cars running instead of buying new ones we're doing our bit. Sort of.
