Real shame the original Australian albums I grew up with are no longer in print, they were what the band released not some Atlantic executives, not only that but it is the work of George Young and Harry Vanda and their sound/production. High voltage 1975 and T.N.T. were before their international releases.

    • @rabarebra
      @rabarebra 7 месяцев назад +2

Even Dirty Deeds with that cool pool-table cover came out before the international High Voltage.
I have all those original ones, but I'd purchase if they did carefully done reissues of those classics Australian albums. They are the ones that sound the best with Bon Scott. Recorded and cut in Australia where the master was (hopefully still is).

I’d LOVE to see the first three Albert Productions albums be released here in America! And the German track listing of the Powerage album as well (the American version lacks “Cold Hearted Man”, by the way).

I have all the original Australian LP's except Highway To Hell. There are songs on these records we did not get here. Cold Hearted Man, Crabsody In Blue, School Days, Love Song, and more. The cover art all so much better. Still miss Bon. 😢

  • @Steambull1

Would be all over these had they been respectfully remastered to be dynamic and as close to the original pressings as possible. They prioritized color vinyl and used the same old 2003 masters. I guess it makes sense, since about a third of the record buying public don't even have an LP player. However, there are lots of reissues and anniversary releases that focus on providing the best possible sound. I just bought the 50th anniversary release of The Band's self-titled album, very well newly remixed and remastered - that's a proper way to celebrate an album

Some say they are just like the black's too, but they are NOT. I can prove it. Just stick by my home, and listen to the butterfly-coloured records, swish-swosh between the colours as the needle pass them. So, there is a difference, but not on the one-coloured ones (where there is no mojo filliings). There should be a master-degree on this topic. 😂

It is the 2003 remasters by George Marino. Stiff Upper Lip by George Marino and Ryan Smith.
Ryan Smith cut the 2022 one. Extreme quality.
These 2024 garbage pressings is cut by AL, whoever that is, and it shows. You know, lacquer cutting can ruin the pressing when spaced wrong using some silly new EQ on it or a limiter, even when using the same remaster as the 2009 one's.
My recommendation is to buy the 2009 reissues and above, but before 2024. Those pressings are much louder and clearer, and much better vinyl quality.
These Gold vinyl's is not even collectible. It is garbage!

To me, a long time, over 40 year of being an AC/DC fan, can easily skip these 50th annivers. gold discs. I am with you, looks horrible, and sounds horrible. I tested a couple and returned them. Having the originals, plus some of the 2009 reissues (which are 2nd place after originals) is more than enough.
These gold vinyl's will not even be collectible. The price is also ridiculous. You get two 2009 records for one 2024. And the 2009 ones sounds ten times better.

Hahaha! This vinyl reissue nonsense needs to just stop! 🛑
This set is a joke. First off, who the hell decides to skip LET THERE BE ROCK ?!?
Secondly, as a hard core fan since 1978, I'd like to say that this gold vinyl and the cheesy sleeves just look stupid as shit.
These albums looked best wen they were originally released --- most especially the earlier records on the classic ATCO, and the color coordinated Atlantic "center labels" for Back In Black (black and silver), FTATR (gold and black) and Flick of The Switch (white and black)
Also, the non-inclusion of the Aussie versions is totally understandable, but sad as well.
Look, i only watched this because i dig the host, and to see what sort of nonsense they were up to this time. Have zero interest in buying it. I'm happy that i have the originals, and they all look way better than these.
*Oh, and putting "Who Made Who" into this set is a joke as well. Should've been "Flick Of The Switch"
Finally, AC/DC Live is a lame album. If you want AC/DC live, you need "IF YOU WANT BLOOD (YOU'VE GOT IT)" which is FAR superior!!!

Let There Be Rock will be reissued in Gold as well in the next batch. Record companies usually do not release albums in such series chronologically. The reason can be weak albums in between etc., or too many good ones chronologically, making a second batch less attractive and won't sell. Just imagine all of these released at once: For Those About To Rock, Flick Of the Switch, Fly On The Wall, Who Made Who, Blow Up Your Video, The Razors Edge. That's many mediocre albums in one go. Instead they mix the albums up for each release.
I've been listening and collecting AC/DC since late 70s when I was a kid.
      Thank you!
