- Owen Peloquin was the last member of Isaac Schuman's tubing group to testify in Nicolae Miu's trial.
He described how Miu "weirdly sprinted at us" when they were sitting in their tubes on the Apple River that day. On the cellphone video, you can hear Peloquin say, "Yo, get away." But Peloquin testified Miu didn't get away, but Miu grabbed onto their tubes. The teenagers then got out of their tubes.

The "young adults" were charged at BY that "old man"...guess the old man couldn't handle WORDS that were being said..and HE, the only one, was THE ONE WITH A WEAPON - the knife that he stabbed with...then conveniently threw it but it was found. If YOU think this old man wasn't being the "BULLY" in the first place - you need mental help. You need to ask yourself why a 50+ year 'old man' cannot handle some snotty teenagers drifting down a shallow lazy river spouting off their mouths..old man just couldn't IGNORE any comments?? The young adults never got off their tubes until OLD MAN charged them - and NONE of those being charged knew he had a knife.....until he started slicing people! Then after losing control and stabbing and killing this "poor old bullied man" knew enough to throw the weapon away in the riverbank brush AND try to amble away walking with people who didn't even know who he was....HE IS GUILTY.

Not sure if she even realizes that she's the reason her friends all got stabbed. She could have minded her own business or tried to de-escalate but instead got in the guys face and started putting her hands on him. He reacts to her and then that's when things get crazy. It is a neuro psychological response and Mius adrenaline was probably through the roof. Just watching the video gave me anxiety and flashbacks of a time when I was mugged and surrounded by like five dudes, and the video put me in instant fight mode.

Now they have all decided to lie together and claim he said he was looking for little girls. He is also the worst for having a selective memory in general. I dont know why the defence didn't play the video at the point the girl was allegedly punched, given he said he could hear it above the baying - you'd be able to hear it on the video too if that were the case.
I love how he made sure to repeat "we were kids" and "I was too young" (didn't think to go back to the police station to tell the officers stuffs he" recalled" - "looking for little girls" after his initial interview with the cops.)

I listened to the instigator of this event when he testified. He called a stranger a pedo, ramped up the accusations, involved another group of strangers, and then retreated to stand back and revel in the chaos he had created. He then filmed himself pretending to be shocked instead of trying to offer assistance. That is who should be on trial. Classic sociopath yelling fire in a theater.

His options weren't improving as things progressed. Waiting to find out what kind of plans those kids for him is NOT a chance I'd take in his position either. It sure looks like it would have made a difference if he had brandished the knife and made it clear he wished to leave the area though.

*Attempted strangulation is actually considered one of the worst forms of assault by the police, the laws and the courts.* People get 20 years for strangling someone they didn't kill, I see these cases periodically throughout the year every year.

Were any of the kids charged with underage drinking? Disorderly conduct? Who bought the beer, the father who was with the teens? I have watched alot of murder trials in the last 50 years. In every case i was totally convinced the person was guilty during the prosecutions presentation, and then after the defense got up i would have some question in my mind to some degree. This is the first time in my life that im totally convinced the guy is innocent, and the defense has not presented their case yet. I knew nothing about this case until last week 18:05

The opening question and the prosecutor stressing that he doesn't remember tells us he told police Miu told them he was looking for a cell phone.
When Miu runs up on the tubes and accosts Jawahn, he is holding up a cell phone in an odd way just in front of himself, and it's reasonable to assume Miu thought that was the phone. He drops his snorkel, is asked again what he's looking for and Ryan Nelson testified then says his snorkel.
Miu lied to police and tampered with evidence, but under the circumstances with 13 against 1 to tell a different story, 1 dying, 2 being mortally wounded and another 2 with survivable wounds, I'm not surprised.
He was initially found by a nutjob with a baseball bat, held by this man until police arrived, and continued the lie he told the nutjob when he spoke to the police.
