@neuron05 if someone ran up to Mt friends intertube In a river as such as this man looking for a cell phone. I would've immediately assumed something was wrong with him, as in might need help. Instead, this group harrased him. The person recording was doing it to get views and they antagonized him to feed those views of people in the surrounding areas and via the internet. Teenagers feed into drama these days and sometimes it fights back. There are so many videos of random young teenagers punching strangers old people and kids even. Not to long a group of teenagers killed an elderly man with a traffic cone. It's getting out of control. Self-defense laws have never been more important then today with all these crimes evolving.
Maybe they would have if he had replied to their initial questions...

They called him a pedophile, which likely enraged everyone within ear shot. He was in danger for that reason alone, especially since an increasing number of people gathered around. No wonder he used his weapon when people started getting physical with him.

Your reasoning is, that while agreeably the kids were abusive, that provided him the right to stab to death one kid and stab several others. In my opinion his actions were one of either too insecure or too drunk to just Get up and Leave. Go back to his group of adults and call cops if he wanted. In no planet is it ok to react by killing.

The ADULT was morally obligated to walk away but he didn't like a girl telling him what to do so he decked her and when the boys jumped into defend her, he started poking people in a situation HE CREATED. Someone that used self defense would call the police and tell them they just used a knife to defend themselves BUT he didn't. He tossed the knife, told his group the kids had a knife, then fled and caught leaving by police and he didn't tell them at that point, instead he lied and acted confused. He is guilty and he caused this. These kids were petulant brats, no doubt, but he was the adult. That's what the jury will realize. He will be found guilty.

@@corycousins9247there is no evidence of that. They lied about that to make Nicolae look guilty. And even if he did punch her, she put her loud screaming face up in his space, so a punch in that circumstance is not unreasonable. At least, Nicolae did not go out of his way to punch her.

Bully teens have been probably bullying kids in school for years. I have no sympathy for them, as they instigated the whole mess by picking on a stranger.

From the video of the incident it appears to be self defense,The group ganged up on him.

What helps Miu is the fact that it’s all on video. They can put all these “kids” in the stand and they can all say how much they don’t remember but thankfully they couldn’t help but record everything. So the jury gets to see him being punched, kept from being able to get up, being surrounded by able bodied young men. When you’re mobbed like that, I think it’s safe to say that the human reaction is to defend yourself.

The full video clearly shows how the guy 1. invades their personal space, 2. attacks a girl and only after that he gets shoved.

A group of young healthy men with one instigator, screaming vile names for no reason, were drinking, moving towards a person while laughing, accusing, and making demands. Any person by himself would feel threatened with a need to protect himself. This man did nothing but snorkel and was verbally attacked, then hit multiple times. He obviously got worried about his own safety and reacted.

So underage consumption of alcohol and while they are all drunk they assault a guy and got stabbed over it. One of them got killed for them assaulting someone. Those kids need to be charged with attempted murder. The guy had every right to defend himself

And I have watched all of the videos and I say that Nicolae Miu killed and injured people. Just because people call others names does not give anyone the right to keep a knife hidden and start stabbing people. Why didn't he walk away in the very beginning. Evidently he was the adult. Why was the only place to look for a cell phone happen to be where those kids were? Have you listened to his friends testimony? Maybe they are lying. Are you sure he didn't say he was looking for young girls? Just wondering.
The witness is grinning in that one photo, which means that they were probably harassing Mr. Miu.

The teenage victims in this case clearly provoked their own stabbings through their own very bad behavior. This case should not have even come to trial. The fact that a jury was conned into buying into the prosecution's lies, including from their lying witnesses is testament to the imperfect nature of juries, and the very imperfect nature of police interrogations, prosecutors, and how far what is arguably the fairest legal system on Earth still has to go. All accused persons are entitled to a presumption of innocence to beyond a reasonable doubt. That standard was definitely not adhered to here. This jury verdict will hopefully be set aside on appeal and the real victim, Mr. Miu, exonerated of all charges.

The first think I watched of this case was the defense opening statement without knowing a thing of the case. When I watched the video of the teenagers attacking the man I thought they killed him and that the defendant was one of the young men. I thought it was the prosecution opening statement explaining how he tried to avoid them. I really thought they could kill him. I couldn’t imagine the defendant was him, but I’m glad he’s not the dead. I ‘m really sorry for the teenager’s family but so far I really think it was self defense.
Of course, there’s still evidence to be presented. But anyone would be terrified of being surrounded by drunk people (young or not). Again, so far it’s clear to me it’s self defense.

JUST WATCHED THE ENTIRE UNCUT VIDEO- someone ,i think the guy in purple&pink shorts or the guy in blue shorts first pushes the old guy down, then immediately once he's down the fat chinese lookin guy in black and grey shorts smacks the old guy upside the head hard as he's trying to get up, then the guy in yellow shorts comes up behind the old guy and pushes on the back of his shoulders like attempting to dunk the old guy, the fat guy in black and grey shorts looks as if he's ready to try another sucker punch while the old guy is distracted from behind by the yellow shorts guy, but thats when the old guy gets the yellow short guy in the belly and the black and grey shorts fat guy refrains from his next attack. before every one realizes they are being stabbed a guy in denim shorts pushes on the old guys back and also gets stabbed, but by that time i think the old guy is already in "anybody else gets near me again and they are gonna get it too mode"

i dont know what led up to them pushing him down and hitting him in the face etc. but he was definitely surrounded by a mob that was growing bolder in their attacks on him fast, especially the chubby guy in black&grey shorts and the yellow shorts guy.. in my opinion the only ones who deserved to be defended against are the guy who pushed him down at the start and the chubby guy who smacked him in the face and the yellow shorts guy. sadly chubby black and grey shorts guy got away uninjured, it was his first strike that made the old guy realize his life may be endangered and the situation was escalating.
