If I recall, Star Appeal, third here, burst out of the pack in the final furlong in the 1975 Arc de Triumph, ridden by Greville Starkey, and won at ... 119/1.
@@georgepillson1544 Your so right sir .Dahlia was a very supreme horse but very under rated and Lester the Legend knew her inside out .Do u remember in 1974 when he and Bill Pyres had a long debate in the press 'Who was going to ride Dahlia??...Another nice horse around that time was Mysterious. Also I think Sir Ivor was his best ever but he never reached his potential..Glynn n Greetings from Stourbridge West Midlands
@@glynnevans1851 Nijinky was surely Lester's best mount, Triple crown, Irish Derby , King George, narrow second in the Arc. Sir Ivor was brilliant in the Guineas and Derby, but was beaten in His next 4 races before winning His last 2
@@kevinmunday5782 Hi Kevin , cheers for your reply. After the Derby Sir Ivor went off the boil and was not 100% but regained his true form later. I think Lester also said Sir Ivor was his best Derby ride. Nijinsky's name goes without saying but he went off the boil after the Ledger .Also may I say Roberto deserves a mention and how Lester got him up to pip Rheingold was Momentous and the 73 Arc was Fab to see Rheingold win n one up for England. These races are price less and memories never fade , respect your views Kevin n kind regards Glynn 🤝
fantastic to see this again. keep up the good work.

True enough but Dahlia had been way out of form before the King George when she ran well in third she was in much better form this day .
