I feel where Joe is coming from when he says he was unapproachable and lost out on a lot of music. I think the first time I ever heard him (or TS) in the mainstream was on Need for Speed. I’m from across the pond, so the US Hip-Hop scene before that time was still very much underground still. I grew up with older cousins who used to keep up to date with the scene so I kind of knew who was who and what was up, but not many people did. I remember when my friends first heard Lean Back and I showed them some of Joes tracks and Nas, Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang, Tribe Called Quest etc.
