    Best shot-blocking SG of all-time (0.9 per game), and 2nd most steals per game average among shooting guards and 4th among all players (2.35). And since you brought it up, yes, he was absolutely an underrated passer. At the SG position, he is 6th all-time in assists per game (5.4). In fact, he's one of just nine shooting guards all-time to average over 5 assists.

    Nine steals,in less than three quarters,against the prime Boston Celtics in the tough and physical 80's era. Michael Jordan is totally heads above all other,all time NBA basketball superstars.

    Mike loved blocking shots coming from behind. He perfected that to a level, where as an opponent you always had to look out for where he was on the court. He was dangerous and just the fact that others had that in their mind was sometimes enough. And he was quick, in his mind, with his feet and with his hands.

    I believe there is a video where someone was reacting to MJ's defense and noticed how MJ stood in a spot where he guard not 1 not 2 not 3 but 4 players of the opposite team in the passing lane.. it really shows his defense IQ and how scary the man is to be able to guard 4 people at once in thier passing lanes. It's not even only that While the man with the ball had space to take a shot MJ was still standing in a spot where if the man decided to take it to the hoop himself MJ will end up guarding him too and its just plain stupid to get close to MJ as a defender because he was such an elite level defender that he puts everyone on lock down. The only person MJ struggled to defend was only Magic Johnson. As Magic Johnson kinda perfected at drawing fouls to himself Scottie Pippen on the other hand perfected defending someone without fouling them so Magic Johnson got MJ in foul trouble and they swapped to Pippen to defend Magic Johnson and that worked out beautifully.

    • @BU_TV
      @BU_TV  Год назад

      Pippen makes more sense too. Mike could do an admirable job at times guarding larger players but depending on their skill level he was just to small at times. Magic was play his side or back and not so much face up

    Oh, I forgot, on Ewing. Pat once said, that Mike was talking trash to him for decades and it still hasn't stopped. "If I would call him now, he would at first tell me, that I never beat him when it counted." (laughing).

    If he wasn't averaging 30+ points a game he could of won 4-5 defensive player of the year awards. If he only had to put up 20 points he would of easily had 8-9 seasons where he averaged a triple double along with 3+ steals per game and 1.5 blocks.

    Michael Jordan was a student of the game. He studied his opponent's tendencies by watching game film. That's why he was such an elite defensive player. He would shut down the opponent's best player, no matter who. He shut down Dominique Wilkins whenever the Bulls played the Hawks

    You have to gamble to get a steal,if the ball ends up in your hands while in proper defensive position then it's a turnover by the other team.

    Something kids don't know today
    Jordan was as good on defense as he wanted to be (He was Defensive Player of the Year in '88)
    (LeBron never was.). His thing was he had to focus on playing offense, with Pippen, Ron Harper, Horace Grant and Dennis Rodman, who were mostly defensive players, behind him.

    What you have seen now is little greatness of Jordan,...their is so much more spectacular when Jordan plays in the court..lucky are we have seen Jordan plays in the year of 1990's ...

    Jordan couldn't defend 6 foot point guards like Allen Iverson, Isaiah Thomas, Gary Payton,... they had to take him off Magic and put Pippen on him he was getting straight destroyed 😂😅😅 LeBron James guards 1 through 5 who are paying for these trash promotional Jordan videos???

      Btw. Lebron lost to jj barea, 😂😂😂. Pippen didnt guard the backcourt often and surely rarely against 6 ft 4 or less. So stop lying
