I appreciate your willingness to keep exploring, admit when you are wrong (not many people are capable of that these days!) and revisit videos like these with fresh eyes. No one is perfect, but Jordan was as close to a perfect basketball player as ever laced up sneakers. His explosiveness and insane raw athleticism when he was young, his growth as a player, adapting and improving as his career went on (mastering his low post bag with every year, adding shots like the fade that were pretty much unguardable, learning to trust his teammates more and involve them), killer instinct, clutch gene, putting in the heavy work on defense and still dropping 30-40 on your head on the other end nigh in and night out without taking a day off or manage minutes, and on and on. His one true "weakness" was he was an average three-point shooter in an era that didn't prioritize that at all (and as you saw in this video, when the game was on the line, there was no better player to shine in the big moment, even if it meant taking a three with the clock winding down). There have been amazing basketball players in every era (Chamberlain, West, Pistol Pete, Dr. J., Bird and Magic, Shaq and Kobe all the way through to the modern game, but for my money, I can't imagine a more complete and competitive monster than Jordan. Thanks again for reacting to this video. I've seen it about a hundred times. :)
What I loved about Jordan's game is it's beautiful in its simplicity... he didn't need 1000 dribbles and moves to get a shot off. His mastery of fundamentals should be taught to every new hooper. I know it sounds corny but it's like poetry in motion. Smooth, methodical, and no wasted movements. One thing younger people dont realize is that even at 6'6", he was STRONG. He had to be because his game was to slash, and/or get into the post. He had to be strong/quick to take on the PFs and Cs. When he did go 1v1 against guards they couldn't stop him from jumping over them or Jordan backing them down. His def fundamentals were also crazy if you watch him close and he had a MOTOR. Never stopped.
MJ's hand width is 11.4 inches which is proportionate to an 8-1 frame. His hand length is 9.75 inches which is proportionate to a 7-9 frame. He has the 9th biggest hands in NBA history, above Tacko, Wemby and Wilt.
Respect. Your parents must be very proud of you, young, sir. I'm only here because I stumbled across you when you did this mixtape the first time around, and your response to a lot of negative comments (my own included, I'm ashamed to admit), was to go away and do a lot of homework. Many would have remained ignorant and arrogant, but you did not. Like I said, deep respect.
I was the one that made that comment about the old-school players being just as good because it’s just facts that there’s only 400 guys basically in the entire world they get to play on that court J Bone just had everything you can make in a basketball player and on top of that killer instinct and heart
The guys who aren't Top 75 or HoF level players almost always get lost to history. Think about the guys in the NBA right now. Names like Devin Booker, Paul George, KAT, Brunson, Sabonis, Fox, Trae, Zach Lavine etc. I could go on and name another 2 dozen players of similar caliber who would all be considered good players in the modern era. In 30 years, most NBA fans aren't going to know who any of these guys are. And these are all-star level players. We're not even mentioning all the quality role players in the league. Even elite players like Tatum will suffer because he didn't even win Finals MVP! Even the careers of the current all-time greats like Lebron/Steph/Giannis/Jokic will all become diminished because the kids from 2055 will think they didn't play anyone good. History forgets the names of all the "other guys" and more importantly, history forgets the CONTEXT in which the players achieved their greatness. That's something you can never get from watching highlights. You have to live it.
Jordan had the post fade in college. He just never needed it. Most players can post fade. What Jordan did was turn it into a system of scoring. He could fade nearly anywhere within 15 feet. He had a series of moves, counters, and impeccable footwork to get to a fadeaway. I suggest you research vids that focus on highlighting MJs post-up work. Jordan was art on a basketball floor.
GOAT 🐐 and it's not even close...full speed on both ends 80-82 games a season...anyone who watched his career in real life (not just clips) knows it's not even close. You saw "how did he do that?!" plays every-single-game 🐐 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 🏆 (also, yes that was Barkley) and MJ made elite players look slow, so they weren't trash at all, he was just THAT good.
If you're looking to pick up something to use in your own game, the post fade is great but he also invented and developed this thing he calls the "Windshield Wiper" move. I'm sure if you google it you can find it. If you can figure it out and master it, it's a devastating move that no one ever seemed to have an answer for. Glad to see you gave it a 2nd look. I really do hope that I get to see someone take Jordan's crown in my lifetime. I'd love to see someone dominate like he did again.
Crazy thing is that he was playing against future Hall of Famers that were putting up same or better numbers than today's era with relying on the 3 point shot. 90% of the game was paint back in the day, and you had to fight for every bucket.
Please watch ESPN's video on Michael Jordan’s fadeaway shot. That might answer your question about his fadeaway, let alone his shooting. Thank you for revisiting the MJ Mixtape - it is cool seeing you appreciate what he did on the court with context from your recent videos. Keep up the great work!
Jordan is by far the greatest player or ever lace them up. Bar none! There isn’t anyone close! There has never been anyone to have ever taken over a game like he did. He never missed games. He was a 9 time all defensive team player. Had 10 scoring titles. Was just the most dominant player ever. Kyrie Irving can’t hold Jordan’s jock! Not even close. Jordan would make him like like a high school player.
"What! How!?"..... That perfectly sums up MJ's career and him as a player. He was just too good for the competition. Btw: yes, those were some of his highlights of ONLY his first 3-peat 👍 Watch Michael Jordan Best rare video ever (Voyager) 1 and 2.
Jordan in his rookie years showed alot of his athleticism. He was jumping over people and dunking a lot. A little bit after that was the 1st 3-peat where he was still dunking on people, had a great lay package and crazy footwork but not as much mid-range shooting but it was there. After he came back from baseball, he changed to a more mid range shooting player but still did dunks and layups.
One of the cool things about this video is pretty much all of these teams he's doing these things against had a winning record and damn near all made the playoffs. He brought it against everyone on both sides of the court.
As the 90s progressed, you can tell MJ’s athleticism was fading, especially coming back after his first retirement. Of course, he was still one of the most athletic players in the league, but he couldn’t do a lot of the high-flying acrobatics he used to be able to do in the 80s. To compensate, he went back to basics and honed his fundamentals. That’s why you see a lot more fadeaways, more footwork, and more clever defence manipulation tactics. I would definitely check out his years with the Wizards. Obviously, being 39-40, he wasn’t going to dominate the field with athleticism. So, he basically put on a basketball fundamentals masterclass despite sustaining broken ribs and a shattered knee. The Wizards were probably the worst team in the league before MJ suited up with them. If he wasn’t taken out by a knee injury, he would’ve gotten them to the playoffs.
It was Barkley on the snatch block. Also the shrug game he made those 6 threes in the first half, that shrug wasn't to everyone, it was to Magic. Magic said they had dinner together the night before the game, and MJ mentioned what he wanted to do. The shrug was telling magic see, I don't even believe this shit. Watched that finals live, hell I recorded just about every Bulls game from 1990 until the 98 finals, and never knew about that until I saw a vid like 2 months ago with magic.Coaches and players said he had the biggest hands pound for pound, his hands were bigger then nearly all centers, has bigger hands then shaq. It's why he does all that one handed shit so easily, and other players don't.
You should watch “Michael Jordan best rare video ever (voyager)”. If you thought this video was crazy, the highlights in that video are just insane. Some of the craziest layups and a lot of defensive highlights.
You gotta think bro, in 1998 (his last championship) he was 35 years old, as a 35 years old he won the chip, finals mvp, 1st team defense, all stars first team all NBA and led the league in scoring. All this in a league with "Bad Players" like: Shaw, Penny Hardaway (before injuries), Malone, Stockton, Reggie Miller, Grant Hill, Alonso Mourning, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Kobe, Tim Duncan, etc. etc. etc. Most of these players would torch the crap out of LeBron for at least his first 5-6 years. The Myth that players today are better because they have better shooting averages is a full on lie, the game used to be double sided, defense and offense and players who didn't play good D where bench specialists (basically almost every single player from todays game), but do you really think that if the game back then was as one sided as today this dudes wouldn't be ultra efficient at shooting? They had to split their efforts and energy back then... Isaiah Thomas said it great dude (no disrespect for todays players) he said: To enter the NBA today you only need to have some good cardio and a 40+% 3pt shot, Steve Kerr was as still is the most accurate 3pt shooter ever and he was riding bench. Game didn't evolve it just changed, I don't see any evolution if you literally just threw half of the game away to average 1-3% better shooting...
The first half was from when Jordan got drafted in 84 up until his first 3peat in 90-91 then he retired for a year and a half because his father got murdered and the second 3peat was from 95-98 that’s why it’s going to be so difficult for anyone to pass Jordan as the goat because not only was he undefeated 6-0 and had 2 3peats but most people look at that as the ultimate way to win, and they prefer the way he won over how everyone else won their championships
@@seebbsss He did say 'arguably'... Jordan is widely regarded as a Top 5 Defender All-Time (many would argue Top 3) and most definitely the Best Defensive Shooting Guard/Perimeter Defender in NBA history. His defense was absolutely lethal due to his incredible basketball IQ, unmatched fundamentals and otherworldly athleticism. The crazy part is, I don't think MJ ever reached his true defensive peak because of the offensive burden that was placed on him from day one. Because he was such a gifted scorer/offensive threat, he was always the Bulls number 1 scoring option and their closer. The level of effort that he exerted on BOTH ends of the court, night in night out is truly mind-blowing. Just imagine if he had the luxury of focusing solely on his defense! He is undoubtedly the greatest two-way player the game has ever seen and that's what cements his GOAT status for most people. Here are just some quotes from NBA Legends describing Jordan's defense... - Wilt Chamberlain, NY Daily News, November 3, 1996 "To me, the better part of his game is his defense. He becomes very intense and disrupts in the same manner that K.C. Jones did for the Celtics," Chamberlain said. "There are guys who play Jordan who are afraid to put the ball down and afraid to pass. They're always looking and saying, 'Where the hell is Michael?' He'll steal the ball or cause you to do something you don't want to do. But Michael understands that we have always loved numbers and scoring and the point system. The people who score the touchdowns or score the baskets are the guys who get all the applause." - Jerry West, January 1999 "To me he’s the best offensive player and the best defensive player in the league for a number of years. To be the defensive player of the year with all the other things he had to do, to me, he’s a marvel." - Phil Jackson, May 2013 "He could break through virtually any screen and shut down almost any player with his intense, laser-focused style of defense." - Shaquille O'Neal, January 1999 "Michael’s definitely the best basketball player of all time. He’s the greatest offensive weapon to ever play, and probably the best defensive player we’ve ever seen." - Isiah Thomas, January 1999 "He has the complete package in all facets of his offensive game, and when you break him down defensively, he’s also the best defensive player in the game... He should be remembered as the greatest of all time." - Billy Cunningham, January 1999 "The whole package. He's scary sometimes with his defense." - Dave Cowens, January 1999 "He wanted to be known not only as a great scorer and a winner, but a great defender. And he was. As good as Chicago was offensively, they were better defensively primarily because of Michael Jordan.” - George Mikan, January 1999 "He does everything well. He’s great offensively and defensively. What else would you want a guy to do?"
Again great reaction, definitely a new supporter of your channel. keep up the good work. You mentioned MJs layup package vs. Kyrie....... Kyrie's package is phenomenal especially for a guy his size and the way he's able to finish below the rim. That said think of it this way especially when comparing to MJ, Kyrie dosent have the same physical attributes or is not playing in an era where the level of physical contact is the same to be better than MJ. To start the hand size which you mentioned in your video, MJ had abnormally bigger hand than most even compared to centers in the league. So that level of ball control that he had and being able to finish through contact was incredible. Then on top of that his athletism, footwork to avoid contact, and the way he attached the rim, its just simply on another level. Second you were wondering if the first 2/3's of the video was just the first 3 peat which it was. The best examples I can recommend that really illustrates how he dominated in the second 3 peat is to ask you to look up these games (MJ's 55 point game vs the Washington Bullets, MJ's 50 point game vs. the Miami Heat, or check out his GOAT SZN 1996 Video which really show how good he was in particular the jump shooting.) Its a joke when others are compared to him. The difference between him and Kobe is as good as Kobe was the game did not look as simple as MJ made it look when comparing the two of them. Also RIP Kobe with respect when people compare him to MJ that comparison is really on valid to the 2nd 3peat version of MJ not the first. Anyhow definitely check out the one's I suggested, keep up your research and have a blessed week!
Those were first 3peat highlights. BTW when Jordan came out of retirement the first time he only sent a fax that read "I'm back" and everyone knew as soon as they saw the morning paper who was back. Didn't even need to read the article to know who they were talking about.
Can you imagine with today’s spacing and lack of ability to play true Defense because of the rules, how easy it would be for Mike to penetrate and get to the rim? He’d avg 50
Michael retired from NBA after 1st three peat because his father was murdered and played 2 yrs of minor league baseball before returning to NBA to get his 2nd three peat. He was 6-0 in the finals and never went to game 7 in any of those championships.
Looking at the NBA top 75 players from a few years ago. Names that MJ beat and stopped achieving their legacy moment - Barkley, Drexler, Ewing, Malone, Miller, Payton, Stockton, and Wilkins. He also beat several of the players on that list who had already won or went onto win such as Magic, Worthy, Shaq, etc.
10:28 He took a lot from a lotta players. Many players finished careers with NO RINGS because of MJ (those 3-peats), like Brother Patrick. He couldn’t WAIT to retire & get away from Mike😂😂😂😂❤️
You still haven’t learned to not compare Jordan to anyone . The last vid told you there IS NO ComParison!!! 🐐⭐️✨Yes those were highlights from the first three years in order .
You also had very good players in the '80s and '90s, not only Jordan: Dominique Wilkins dunked like Jordan, Bird was almost equally efficient, Shaq was already impressive, and David Robinson was outstanding. Magic was phenomenal, and Karl Malone scored nearly as much as Jordan. There are also some super teams such as Celtics, Lakers, and Detroit (with their hard defense).

Let me fully in. Those players were not good they were great! The best classes were 84 and 96 and several in between there as well. The players were highly skilled and she whistle blew closer to the rule book. Clyde Drexler is a top 5 shooting guard in reality. Not just athletic but uber strong. He was not comparable to Jordan. That block was on Barkley but you missed a few things. Jordan always had the post fade but he also always had the footwork. He had all the fundamentals down on both sides of the ball. He went to 5 Star camp where the best of the best would go and learned this fundamentals from the great Dean Smith. That kind of coaching is dead. It will never come back unless grass roots change. Change in a way where AAU needs to stop playing the way they do and adhering to some guidelines and kids need to stop reclassifying because all of that waters down the game and sometimes you real don’t see the best play the best. Instead the best play with each other. The things you missed were the steal from Dumars who was probably one of the greatest defending shooting guards of all time and very strong with the ball. Highly efficient and cerebral and strong. The spin baseline as basic as it looked works because with Jordan he never needed to start down hill. It was 0-100 off the step and all the way to the basket. He probably has the quickest first step in history next to Dave Bing. I once met Phil Ford a long time ago. He had told me they indeed timed Jordan running a 4.3 40 and jumping 48” vertical his junior year in college. The other thing is Jordan has one of the biggest set of hands in league history. No one and I mean no one comes close to Jordan. He is in a whole other universe by himself. James ain’t nowhere near him. In reality James is not a top 5 player nor is he better than Kobe. He is one the greatest but the discussion is literally very stupid because it shouldn’t be had. In any case glad you watched it and enjoy the video. Good review.
Dude you have to also check out the video...16 straight minutes of facts that will convince you Michael Jordan is the undisputed GOAT. Also Jordan made the #23 the most coveted number in all of sports. Let that sink in.
He really used the post up move from 93 and on , used it prior but more from then on. Plus he had multiple highlights in every game , he was so creative and dominant. Nobody has come close yet, maybe Kobe to a point but still pretty far off.

Appreciate that!
Glad you back young fella, now you got your emotions out of the way let's go!!
Respect for the re-reaction. It takes a lot to let go of preconceptions and be open to learning the history of what made this sport what it is today.
I was the one that made that comment about the old-school players being just as good because it’s just facts that there’s only 400 guys basically in the entire world they get to play on that court
J Bone just had everything you can make in a basketball player and on top of that killer instinct and heart
THE GOAT!!! 🐐
We appreciate your young man. Definitely gonna keep following.💯💯
It was Charles Barkley that he dropped stepped dunk on and two handed snatched blocked.
U just watched the best there ever will be. #23. Subscribed bro
Btw: yes, those were some of his highlights of ONLY his first 3-peat 👍
Watch Michael Jordan Best rare video ever (Voyager) 1 and 2.
So many true greats in that era completely overshadowed by Mike. Olajuwon, Robinson, Ewing, Barkley, Shawn Kemp, Stockton...
That was barkley. And yes that was the first three highlights
Malone/Stockton/Miller/Ewing/Barkley/Drexler All all time greats that MJ crushed their ring dreams - lmao the snap block was Barkley too
As the 90s progressed, you can tell MJ’s athleticism was fading, especially coming back after his first retirement.
There’s a lot of great players in the league today. But there’s only one GOAT.And MJ is it.
Some of the craziest layups and a lot of defensive highlights.
wow , that slow mo you played at 16:24 of jordan swatting the ball really shows his elite leaping abilities !
There are 3min videos of him doing so many switch up and reverse layups with both hands. He did it all the time. Literally
🎯
Larry Bird and Magic Johnson saved basketball. Michael Jordan took the game itself as a player to a completely insane never before seeing level……
MJ only had and has the greatest sneakers EVER because how he played on the court as the greatest player EVER, not the other way around.
Salute 🫡
I really like this youtuber... hes very smart and knows what's up.. good video brother, best of luck to you
You are one of the real ones bro. Real recognize real. MJ is the goat no doubt.
As an Australian I love Jordan 😮😊❤
great self reflection
The first half was from when Jordan got drafted in 84 up until his first 3peat in 90-91 then he retired for a year and a half because his father got murdered and the second 3peat was from 95-98 that’s why it’s going to be so difficult for anyone to pass Jordan as the goat because not only was he undefeated 6-0 and had 2 3peats but most people look at that as the ultimate way to win, and they prefer the way he won over how everyone else won their championships
GOAT 🐐
Every hall of famer of the 90s doesn’t have a ring because of him. Reggie miller, Patrick Ewing, penny, Malone, Barkley
Haha yeah, that was the first half highlights before he came back. He had highlights day in, day out.
The Post Fade was developed over a summer to get passed the Detroit Pistons and shoot before the double teams arrived.
he had great body control too
The best body control of any team sport athlete I've ever seen.
12:12 that was BARKLEY
Mike was also arguably the greatest defensive player all time too
I'm a huge HUUUUGEE MJ fan but I would never dare to say such thing... best defensive shooting guard? it's very likely, but best ever... come on.
- Wilt Chamberlain, NY Daily News, November 3, 1996
"To me, the better part of his game is his defense. The people who score the touchdowns or score the baskets are the guys who get all the applause."
- Jerry West, January 1999
"To me he’s the best offensive player and the best defensive player in the league for a number of years. To be the defensive player of the year with all the other things he had to do, to me, he’s a marvel."
- Phil Jackson, May 2013
"He could break through virtually any screen and shut down almost any player with his intense, laser-focused style of defense."
- Shaquille O'Neal, January 1999
"Michael’s definitely the best basketball player of all time. He’s the greatest offensive weapon to ever play, and probably the best defensive player we’ve ever seen."
- Isiah Thomas, January 1999
"He has the complete package in all facets of his offensive game, and when you break him down defensively, he’s also the best defensive player in the game... He should be remembered as the greatest of all time."
- Billy Cunningham, January 1999
"The whole package. He's scary sometimes with his defense."
- Dave Cowens, January 1999
"He wanted to be known not only as a great scorer and a winner, but a great defender. And he was. As good as Chicago was offensively, they were better defensively primarily because of Michael Jordan.”
- George Mikan, January 1999
"He does everything well. He’s great offensively and defensively. What else would you want a guy to do?"
The one of the kind greater in basketball player off all time
Man you should watch the 92’ Dream Team Olympic Games ………to blow your mind…….nothing like the NBA product of today
It’s gotta be the shoes.
"A shoe is just a shoe, until my son steps into it." - Deloris Jordan in "Air" 2023.
He is midrange killer eversince,he is the most complete player,
He developed his post fade when Phil Jackson got to the Bulls because the triangle starts in the post.
Need to watch that Red Assault 72-10,70-12 and 69-13 Jordan Pippin and Rodman
Watch how the whole defense collapses on him when he's in the lane. You never see that in todays game.
Jordan was fun to watch. He was human and had bad days, but watching him play was a pleasure. Barkley was the victim of the first snatch block.
Pistol Pete Maravich is a good dive too
1st half of video, early Jordan. 2nd half, later Jordan.
first 3 peat my man
No wasted movements. 2-3 dribbles...bucket
The last vid told you there IS NO
ComParison!!! 🐐⭐️✨Yes those were highlights from the first three years in order .
Also check out Michael Jordan Voyager Rare Video
That was Charles Barkley that Michael Jordan blocked with two hands.
Good eye, his hands were top 10 biggest in NBA history. Massive.
You have to do the voyager rare jordan video

Those were highlights from the first three peat. Just pay attention to the opponents.
Yes...that was Barkley.
He really used the post up move from 93 and on , used it prior but more from then on. Plus he had multiple highlights in every game , he was so creative and dominant. Nobody has come close yet, maybe Kobe to a point but still pretty far off.
Dude at 2:20ish you already wrong saying everybody sucked

@@Torie988 haha, good job for coming back then :)
MJ did not show his maximum power because there was no other league superior to the NBA.
Dominique, Ewing, karl malone, stockton, drexler, gary payton, shawn kemp, and many more chips canceled lol
